Officials with the Two Rivers Authority Economic Development Agency signed a contract with American Police Force (APF) to house prisoners at an empty jail in Hardin, Montana.
The APF webite sites the federal government as a client, but an AP search of two comprehensive government contractor databases turns up no records of APF. Other media agencies have also identified inconsistencies with the company.
A spokesman for the company who refused to give his full name, but identified himself as "Captain Michael", stated that the company has no experience housing prisoners.
