WATCH: House prosecution spokesperson Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong explained the decision in a press conference on Wednesday, July 15 to drop Office of the Vice President (OVP) Chief of Staff Atty. Zuleika Lopez and House Legislative Security Bureau Executive Director Capt. Belinda Bello as impeachment witnesses.

According to Adiong, the move was based on the strength of the evidence already presented, with Lopez's testimony deemed unnecessary and Bello's expected testimony considered merely corroborative. He added that removing the two witnesses would also help expedite the impeachment proceedings and avoid consuming unnecessary time. (Video courtesy of House of Representatives)
