00:05I believe that you vote with him very consistently.
00:08Epstein, there was a break.
00:10And I think it was a righteous break on your behalf.
00:13But could that be enough to ruin your chances?
00:17It may have ended my political career, Chris.
00:19I mean, that's the calculation that when I may take votes.
00:22And let's be honest, I didn't go to Washington to take orders from anybody,
00:27which is why you do see me scuffle from time to time,
00:31which is why I do call out Democrats and Republicans alike.
00:35You know, I have a history of doing that.
00:37I've loved doing that, too, Chris.
00:40But that is that's part of the way that politics is.
00:43You win some, you lose some.
00:45I got my butt beat in the governor's race.
00:47OK, so, you know, those are all things that you sort of weigh.
00:51I've loved the job.
00:52I've it's been an honor to serve South Carolina.
00:55And, you know, we'll see what happens over the next couple of days.
00:58But I think it'd be really important for us as a state to honor the man, the myth and the
01:02legend.
01:02I used to be Lindsay's neighbor.
01:04And I remember inviting him over for a glass of wine one evening.
01:07He loved Riesling.
01:08And I asked him for his advice because he was sort of the godfather of the delegation.
01:12He was a mentor to me, a mentor to a lot of us and gave us a lot of great
01:16advice.
01:16And I think it would behoove all of us to share our stories, to share his legacy.
01:20And he was a really good friend of the president.
01:22The president said in his passing, in the shock and awe of his passing, that he was almost like family
01:27to him.
01:27And I believe that.
01:28And I think that's what we should be honoring in the days ahead.
