00:00Good morning, South Carolina. Thank you for waking up early before you head into work today.
00:15It's bright and early. Beautiful day here in Charleston, South Carolina, on hallowed ground
00:20at the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina.
00:26This morning, I'm making it official.
00:30I am running to be your governor of the great state of South Carolina.
00:39Okay, please, South Carolina first.
00:42I want to thank Kevin Tugate, who's a 9-11 first responder, firefighter in New York.
00:48When he came up here, he was there on 9-11 on day one.
00:51So thank you, Kevin, for your service to your country.
00:53And the Cezura family.
00:55When I met the Cezuras and Sweet Tanner, who was run over by that vehicle on Sullivan's Island,
01:05that family brought me to tears.
01:08And that's what this is about.
01:10It's not about me.
01:11It's about the people of South Carolina.
01:14Now, I didn't come to join the club.
01:17They don't want me, and I don't want them.
01:23I came to hold the line.
01:29They said, stay quiet.
01:31I spoke up.
01:33They said, sit down.
01:34I stood up.
01:36They said, play nice.
01:38And I fought back.
01:42South Carolina is tired of politicians who smile for the cameras, lie to your face, and then vanish when it's time to lead.
01:51I'm not one of them.
01:53I'm running for governor because South Carolina doesn't need another empty suit.
01:59It needs a governor who will fight for you and your values.
02:03South Carolina needs a governor who will drag the truth into sunlight and flip the tables, if that's what it takes.
02:13South Carolina doesn't need another politician who folds when things get tough.
02:18And he's a governor who will always stand tall, no matter the odds.
02:24I walked into firestorms, and I've come out swinging.
02:28I didn't flinch, I don't fold, and you know, I never run.
02:36While others played it safe, I said what needed to be said, and I did what needed to be done.
02:43This isn't about playing defense.
02:46This is about going on offense for you, for your family, for your freedom, and for your future right here in South Carolina.
02:56I wasn't built to kiss the ring.
02:59I just wear one.
03:02I don't answer to the establishment.
03:04I don't owe those in the back room a single thing.
03:08I answer to the people.
03:10And the people, let me tell you, are fed up.
03:13I've been all across the state of South Carolina over the last couple months, and the people are fed up.
03:18They're fed up with sanctuary sheriffs who refuse to enforce the law.
03:23Yes, that happened right here in South Carolina, where we had leadership across the state, statewide, that stood silent, as we had a sanctuary sheriff in our great state letting out illegals who are rapists, letting out illegals who are murderers, and letting out illegals who are pedophiles and child molesters.
03:45That happened right underneath our noses, right here in South Carolina.
03:50You know what I did last year?
03:51I stood up.
03:53I spoke out.
03:54I basically ran against the sheriff.
03:56And the good people of Charleston County, right where we are today, you voted in a new sheriff who on day one started working with ICE.
04:05You did that.
04:06They're fed up with state-wide officials who always stay quiet, the ones who say nothing, do nothing, and stand for nothing.
04:16They're fed up with violent criminals getting a slap on the wrist, while good, law-abiding citizens get ignored.
04:23They're fed up with schools that push politics instead of reading, writing, and arithmetic.
04:30They're fed up with weak leaders who talk tough on TV, then cave when it comes time to vote.
04:39Caving is what got us into this mess.
04:43I will never cave.
04:45I came to draw the line today and hold it, and we will do this together.
04:53So before I tell you.
