Across NSW, a final front brings showers, hail, and snow to higher elevations, while coastal areas enjoy cooler, sunny days. Sydney can expect a crisp 20 degrees.

00:00G'day from the Bureau, with your national weather forecast around the country for Tuesday
00:05the 14th of July.
00:07And we've seen a fair bit of wintery weather through southeastern parts of the country
00:11again on Tuesday, particularly through Tasmania and parts of Victoria, where we're seeing
00:16cold, wet and windy conditions, also alpine snow through parts of New South Wales, Victoria,
00:22and down to low levels through parts of Tasmania early on.
00:24But notice how quickly that clears out by Tuesday night, and this massive high pressure
00:29system pretty much dominating the weather right around the country, from Brisbane to Broome
00:34and everywhere in between.
00:36So let's have a look at all of that in more detail.
00:39Firstly, in Queensland, where that ridge will be ridged into much of the state, might see
00:44a few offshore showers through the central and Capricornia coast.
00:47Maybe a couple of those will move inland, but really pretty isolated in general, and maybe
00:52a couple of showers up around the far part of Cape York as well.
00:55But otherwise, a very sunny day right across the state of Queensland, living up to its name,
01:01the Sunshine State.
01:02Temperatures in the low 20s to teens, particularly around the range, getting up into the mid-teens
01:08through central areas, sorry teens, 20s I should say, low 20s, mid-20s, and then high
01:1320s to near 30s through northern parts of Queensland.
01:16South East Queensland looking at a cool start, and then a dry and sunny day, 23 degrees in
01:23Brisbane.
01:24Moving down into New South Wales, we've got temperatures here, again, they're pretty on
01:29the cool side.
01:29We'll see that front just clip through southeastern parts of New South Wales, bringing showers,
01:35maybe some local hail and thunder, and snow through parts of our southern and central
01:39Tablelands around the highest peaks.
01:41But that'll just be some cool winds by the time it gets to the coast, and most of that will
01:44clear out by Tuesday night.
01:47Temperatures around the 20-degree mark on the coast, into the mid to high teens through
01:52inland parts of New South Wales, and maybe in the far north-east, getting up into the
01:56low 20s there.
01:57Sydney, a cool start, and then a sunny 20 degrees.
02:01Canberra, cold, showery, snow in the hills, only 11, but the wind chills will make it feel
02:06even colder.
02:07But that should be the last day of that type of weather.
02:09Moving down into Victoria, another cold, wet, and windy one through much of southern and
02:14mountain Victoria on Tuesday, as this final trough system sweeps across southern areas.
02:19Winds will be gusty, particularly through our elevated areas.
02:22We're likely to see widespread snow once again through our alpine resorts, and maybe some
02:26damaging winds up there as well.
02:28Could also see some pretty big tides as well, particularly on the high tide in the early
02:33morning hours.
02:34So watch out for that, particularly through eastern parts of Victoria.
02:36Otherwise, a general easing trend by the time we get to Tuesday night.
02:41Temperatures in the low to mid teens across much of the state.
02:44Dry in the north, but widespread showers and strong winds in the south.
02:48Melbourne looking at a showery, 16 degrees.
02:51Moving down into Tasmania, and it's wet and windy and wild across western and southern parts
02:56of the state.
02:57On Tuesdays, this final system moves through.
02:59We could see damaging winds through western and southern areas.
03:02Snow to low levels, maybe 800m, maybe 600m, depending on exactly where that cold air moves
03:08through.
03:09We're also likely to see some very elevated seas and swell, particularly on the high tide
03:13through southern and southeastern areas of Tasmania.
03:17We could see some inundation of low-lying areas, particularly on the high tide.
03:20So if you live near water, please watch out for that early on Tuesday.
03:24Cold, windy.
03:25Wind chills will make it feel even colder than these numbers you see here, 10 or 12 through
03:30most of the state.
03:32Hobart looking at a cold and windy, 10 degrees, with showers passing through, particularly during
03:36the morning and early afternoon hours.
03:39Moving up into South Australia, and the final round of showers will be lingering through
03:43southern agricultural areas during the Tuesday morning.
03:46But that'll all ease out by the time we get to Tuesday afternoon, with just a couple of isolated
03:50showers by the time the sun sets.
03:52And that's thanks to this high pressure system moving into the Bight by Tuesday night.
03:56That's going to clear out a lot of the weather through much of the southern parts of the state.
04:00Dry and partly cloudy in the north.
04:02Cool, showery and cloudy through southern areas as well.
04:05Temperatures in the mid to high teens through southern areas, getting into the low 20s in
04:10the north.
04:11Adelaide could see a few showers, particularly early on in the day.
04:14Then should be easing by night time, 17 degrees.
04:17Now moving into WA, we're on the other side of the high.
04:21So we're getting more offshore flow and some warmer temperatures there.
04:24So along the coast, we're still pretty cool in those high teens.
04:27But notice by the time we get to the west coast, we're looking at temperatures there in
04:30the low to mid 20s and into the high 20s through northern parts of WA.
04:36Staying dry pretty much statewide as well with lots of sunshine.
04:39Darwin, Perth after a cool start, looking at a sunny 21 degrees.
04:43Moving up into the tropical north, wet dry season I should say up there.
04:48So we're continuing to see that kind of dry, warm and sunny weather.
04:52Just the usual few showers about the parts of the top end and also about parts of eastern Cape York.
04:58Otherwise temperatures below 20 in the south, mid 20s in central areas and low 30s across northern areas
05:05and into the Kimberley as well with lots of sunshine.
05:08Darwin looking at a dry sunny 32 degrees.
05:11Now there's a bit of weather going on through southeastern parts of the country over the next 24 to 36
05:15hours.
05:16Make sure they get latest forecasts for your area via our website and app.
05:20And I'll be back here tomorrow to give you Wednesday's forecast.
