ESPN published its annual list of Top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL, with Josh Allen topping the list over Patrick Mahomes, reigning MVP Matthew Stafford, and others. Dukes and Bell go through the list and say who is overrated, underrated, and properly rated.

00:00The top 10 QBs for 2026.
00:03This is NFL, guys.
00:05Josh Allen comes in at number one.
00:07Mahomes at two.
00:09Now, look, if I am rating this, and it's funny because Friday we were talking
00:15about this a little bit at Twin Peaks, it's not just because of the injury.
00:18If you go look at Mahomes the last three years, his production is down.
00:23It's not the 50 touchdown guy we saw when Mahomes came up.
00:27How much of that is because of some of the people they've added or subtracted
00:30from that squad over the years?
00:31It is, Mike.
00:32The team has changed.
00:33And so, you know, his production has gone down.
00:36But I also think, like, when you're throwing 22 or 26 touchdowns
00:40and 11 interceptions, that's what his numbers were last year.
00:43Because think about it.
00:44Before the injury, and even like the last year they went to the Super Bowl,
00:47that offense is painful to watch.
00:48Yes.
00:48You know, I mean, Kelsey's production obviously came down.
00:51This will be probably the last rodeo for Travis Kelsey.
00:54They've kind of been of some of their parts.
00:55With all due respect to Pacheco in the run game,
00:57imagine if Andy Reid pivoted and leaned into a big running back.
01:01But he wants to throw it all day.
01:02He does.
01:02So he comes in at two.
01:04My point is I wouldn't have him there.
01:05That's me.
01:06Where would you put Mahomes?
01:07And again, you're just basing this off a reputation, so be it.
01:10I'm going to base it off of how well these guys have played.
01:14Matthew Stafford is at three.
01:15That's the reigning MVP.
01:17And I know he's old and all that.
01:18He can still spin it.
01:20And I think now, if we're just talking about the individual,
01:22because, as you said, there's variables, if you want to take it down,
01:24okay, well, who's he surrounded by?
01:26What's the coaching staff like?
01:28You know, Patrick Mahomes has got a great coaching staff,
01:30and I'll see Matthew Stafford's got, we think,
01:31the best coaching staff in football right now.
01:33Yes, yes.
01:33But still, I've got to be honest, I would have Matthew Stafford.
01:37The guy with the ring would be ahead of Josh Allen,
01:38despite Josh Allen's upside and athleticism.
01:40They blew it last year.
01:42They missed their window.
01:43That's how I feel.
01:44They've been missing their window, Buffalo, the last couple seasons.
01:46Burrell comes in at four.
01:47Again, Allen, Mahomes, Stafford.
01:50I'm putting Stafford one.
01:51I'm with Mike.
01:52Allen two, I'm pushing Mahomes back.
01:54Burrell's four.
01:55Wait, what's Burrell one lately?
01:56Well, listen to you.
01:56When's Burrell on the field lately?
01:58When he's healthy, as dangerous as they get.
02:00But it's that caveat, right?
02:02When healthy.
02:03Then you get Lamar at five.
02:05You have an issue with Lamar being five, Mike?
02:07Well, his stuff, it's more about the postseason.
02:09So, again, it's all a matter of, first off,
02:11this is perfect clickbait to get us arguing about this stuff.
02:13But Lamar has been a guy that, you know, okay, new O.C.
02:16You didn't like the old one.
02:18Good luck, buddy boy.
02:19It's just about minimalizing the turnovers when it matters most in the playoffs.
02:24That's the problem I have with Lamar Jackson.
02:25Dak Prescott is six.
02:27No, well, it's too high.
02:29Justin Herbert, seven.
02:30Would you put Herbert?
02:31No.
02:32Look, you've always been sort of meh on Herbert,
02:34and I'm kind of coming around to your mehness on him.
02:37I do like the Chargers squad, the team itself.
02:40And they've built up, they've drafted wide receivers,
02:43they got rid of some of the older players,
02:44they're changing the look of it.
02:46I do like the Chargers.
02:47And remember, both their tackles, right and left tackle were out last year.
02:50They get those guys back.
02:52Drake May, Mike, is eight.
02:54Now, I know I run the Super Bowl, you get a lot of hype,
02:56but is Drake May, is he in the top ten?
03:00He threw for 4,000 yards last year, guys.
03:02Right.
03:03And, you know, now you're going to get him more weapons.
03:05But we're not talking about potential.
03:06It's just kind of where they rank right now.
03:08All right.
03:09And here's the deal.
03:10I'm not, again, I'm kind of doing the hand thing where you go, eh.
03:14May's good.
03:15I probably have him outside of the top ten, but I understand.
03:17Last year was an unbelievable year for him.
03:19It finishes up with Jared Goff at 9, and then Caleb Williams at 10.
03:23Now, see, I'm high on Williams.
03:25I would probably put him 7, 8, 9, and maybe have May at 10.
03:31Because I do think what happened with Drake May is what happened with Vrabel
03:35in his time with the Patriots.
03:37Right.
03:37I'm going to give you a great defense.
03:39I'm going to give you a good run game.
03:41I'm going to give you all these things.
03:43I just need you to be really good and not turn the ball over, although he threw for 4,000
03:47yards.
03:47And so a lot of people said, wait a minute, you're disrespecting Drake May.
03:49But that is the top ten.
03:51Again, Allen, Mahomes, Stafford, Burrow, Jackson, Prescott, Herbert, May, Goff, Williams.
03:57You know what?
03:57Looking at the numbers, I would probably have Drake May higher.
04:00I might even move Drake May up.
04:03I might move, right now, Caleb Williams out.
04:06Caleb Williams was 7th in pass.
04:09You know what?
04:1027 touchdowns and 7 picks.
04:12Now, Caleb Williams says, you know who should go out?
04:13Who?
04:14All right.
04:15Goff?
04:16Dak.
04:17Okay.
04:17And then, and I know Dak, by the way, 30, these are all great numbers.
04:22You know what?
04:23Where's Sam Darnold?
04:24Sam Darnold won the Super Bowl.
04:25I know.
04:26And Sam Darnold was, what, 25, 14 picks.
04:30Yardage was up there.
04:31Completion percentage was strong.
04:33I mean, it is like you're splitting hairs here.
04:35And Jared Goff was second best to Stafford.
04:37So, I mean, if you're going to have a top ten, it's a fun conversation because maybe Caleb
04:42Williams has to wait.
04:43Trevor Lawrence was actually top ten.
04:45Lawrence should be in there.
04:46Lawrence had a great, great second half.
04:48Sam Darnold and Herbert out.
04:50How's that for me?
04:51There you go.
04:51Everything else stays.
04:52The second half of the season, Jacksonville averaged 32 points a game.
04:5532.
04:56That's why they just exploded.
04:58I'm with you.
04:58I think Lawrence should be in there.
04:59But if you're going to go purely by numbers and stats, Josh Allen is living off rep.
05:03He is.
05:04Last year's numbers, he wasn't as good as those other guys.
05:06And neither was Mahomes.
05:07This is what I'm saying.
05:08Both of those guys, definitely top ten.
05:11But let's scoot them down a little bit.
05:13Let me ask you this before we get to what's on Day Day's mind.
05:17When are we going to have another quarterback that we're talking about in the top five or
05:21ten in the NFL?
05:23Well, is it going to be this year?
05:25Man.
05:26I mean, we got guys out there that are rooting for Pettix Jr.
05:28We want to see him trying to grab it and get it together.
05:31Oh, the video's been verified, by the way.
05:33It is, Michael Pettix Jr.
05:35The video's been verified.
05:36All right.
05:37I mean, there's still a lot of things to overcome.
05:39There's a lot of things to overcome for both these guys.
05:41Both these guys got to grasp the offense.
05:43But Tua, as you guys know, has got the advantage.
05:44I mean, Tua is already, like, statistically, Tua is still a decent quarterback.
05:49Last year, as bad as things got in Miami.
05:51Yeah.
05:51But, I mean, I know this is going to irk everybody.
05:54I'll just say it.
05:55I think our next great quarterback.
05:56You don't like guys with bad knees?
05:58Our next great quarterback is in the draft.
06:01I don't like that.
06:02I got to be proven.
06:04We're going to see you to camp, guys.
06:05You know what, Mike?
06:06You just made me proud.
06:08Why is that?
06:08Because in a roundabout way, you just told Carl to be patient.
06:13I can't.
06:14I can't.
06:14I can't.
06:15We can't.
06:16It just means I don't believe in the two guys we got right now.
06:18But that's, I mean, that's where we're living.
06:20I mean, that's why everybody in Vegas, from the over-under in Vegas to where people look
06:24at our team, when your quarterback is up in the air, people don't believe in your squad.
06:28Man, if we got this wrong.
06:31I think I trust Matt Ryan to get it right.
06:35I believe in Matt.
06:35I really like our coach.
06:37I like the GM.
06:38But, I mean, this, as Day Day says, patience, this may have to be a work in progress.
06:44And our guy might be playing college ball this year.
06:47Unless, unless, unless, unless, unless, Tua reinvents himself or Michael Paddix Jr.
06:52becomes the guy you thought he was.
06:54And that could happen, by the way.
06:56I guess.
06:58Coming up, find out what's on Day Day's mind.
07:00Bye-bye.
07:00Bye-bye.
07:00Bye-bye.
07:01Bye-bye.
07:01Bye-bye.
07:01Bye-bye.
07:01Bye-bye.
