00:03I think we will allow the lawyers to speak first. I owe it to them. I also want to thank
00:16Datuk Yusof who is not here with us, Sir Gobind who is not here with us and their team.
00:22Without them, I wouldn't get the justice in the Court of Law so that's Datuk to speak first.
00:33Assalamu Alaikum. Good morning my friends. I just want to say a few words of gratitude.
00:39Praises to God. Alhamdulillah. You heard the decisions of the Federal Court and the majority supported the acquittal of YB.
00:52I would like to take this opportunity to thank my legal team including Datuk Ambigas.
00:59The legal team in respect of the Court of Appeal as well, Datuk Yusof who is a consultant.
01:03And the legal team who handled the trial for YB at the High Court led by YB Gobind Singh Diu.
01:12You have heard the decision of the Federal Court. It was unanimous that they ruled that as far as the
01:18embankment charge is concerned, no evidence whatsoever.
01:22As regards the second and third and fourth charges, there was a majority decision to say that the offences are
01:32not approved.
01:34So we are grateful and thankful. We are also thankful to the learned judges of Court of Appeal who came
01:40up with very good judgement at the Court of Appeal.
01:43And we also thank the learned high court judge. Upon producing the notes of evidence, I think the learned high
01:48court judge gave every opportunity to the defence to canvass its case.
01:53I would like to thank YB and the family for having confidence and trust in us.
01:58We wish him well. We know he is engaged. Getting to be married. And continue to be a champion.
02:13Thank you very much. First of all, I would like to thank Datuk Hisham. He led our team so well.
02:23The one thing you know and you feel in your bones is when justice is served. And I think today,
02:31we all feel that.
02:33And I am so happy for Said Sadiq, who has put his life, save for your marathons, on hold for
02:41about six years, I believe.
02:43Six years. And to him and his family who have stood by him all the way, I say I am
02:50delighted for you.
02:52We look forward to seeing Said Sadiq out in the field again. That's all I can say. All the very
02:59best.
03:00Thank you. Thank you very much. That's all.

03:12Bismillah.
04:09keluarga, kawan-kawan, sahabat, dunia politik.
04:50the independence of the judiciary, the institutions which make our country great
05:24Mama, Buya, I think if you know what they've gone through, my mum khususnya.
05:46Salah. People forget that.
05:48That in court, prior to the 3-0 win in the pill court, saya merupakan salah seorang masalah.
06:26I don't want this to be about me and my personal life, but I want it to be bigger than
06:32that.
06:33So, itu boleh tanya nanti di luar. Tapi Alhamdulillah, Greenlight dan Mama, Buya, itu penting lah.
06:38So, thank you very much to members of the press kerana memberikan liputan yang adil
07:07So, why is it that you will rejoin politik when you re-hack with Muda?
07:12Pardon?
07:12So, will you rejoin politik when you re-hack with Muda?
07:15I mean, I've always been a part of Muda. I've never left Muda.
07:19But in regards to future political plans, etc., I think I'll take a little bit of time.
07:24Give me time to...
07:25Because today I want to spend a lot of time with my family.
07:28I also want to sort my own personal life in order.
07:32But the fire to help rebuild Malaysia will never ever be extinguished.
07:38Why is it that you want to do your gratitude?
07:39I want to thank you very much.
08:24Tapi memang saya nak buat kesyukuran.
08:31sentiasa berlampingi.
08:34Can you tell us a bit about what went through your mind
08:38when the judge asked you to push the bench?
08:49It's very hard to put it into words, to be very honest.
08:56It's a combination of a sense of relief
08:59and at the same time a great encouragement and motivation
09:03and reminder, not only as a Malaysian
09:08but as a policymaker
09:09to always defend the integrity and independence
09:11of the judiciary
09:14because I think the most ideal Malaysia
09:18which we should live in
09:19is one in which everyone will have his views heard
09:25and will have justice delivered in this court of law.
09:30And I'd like to personally thank the judges
09:33from the high court to the federal court
09:37for making it possible.
09:39I bear no grudges whatsoever
09:41and at the same time I'd like to thank them
09:44for their service
09:47and my commitment is to ensure
09:50that the judiciary will be strong, safe and independent
09:55and with great policies coming from parliamentarians
09:58like myself hopefully.
09:59What day you've been employed in court matters
10:02for the past six years
10:03and last week you had to ignore another two weeks.
10:06And today is quite a minority to you, so can you compare them to you?
10:12I mean, six years is a very long time
10:19so needing to wait another two weeks is something which to me is not an issue
10:25and as Yang Ma'arif, the judge rightfully pointed out just now
10:32is that people fall sick and that's why I respect that.
10:37I prayed for his quick recovery, it's very good to see that he has recovered well.
10:42I remember even when the chief prosecutor of mine fell sick a few times before, I never made an issue
10:50out of it, I prayed for his quick recovery as well, because to me, yes, maybe the arc of justice
10:58may be long, but in the end it will bend towards the truth regardless.
11:02And I am just thankful and grateful that we are at where we are today because it has taught me
11:07an invaluable lesson that when you are pushed to the corner, when you see no hope and no light at
11:14the end of the tunnel, do not ever abandon your principles, your integrity and your dignity for an easy way
11:20out.
11:21And while it may seem convenient, but in the end, you have to put faith in God and put faith
11:27in the institutions which make this country a great country, because as long as that faith is there, not only
11:32will there be change, but you'll be able to spark a fire in which will lead to a better Malaysia
11:38and that's my great hope.
11:39Strong institutions, independent institutions and one in which Malaysia becomes a developed country.
12:15Thank you, ma'am.
