00:00:02Hello, hello, hello, give me just a second, just making sure everything's working, everything's
00:00:08working well, we'll get going right away, this is like a 10 second delay, all right,
00:00:16sweet, we're doing good, all right, so, I don't know why this, my live streams tend to be
00:00:23blurry, I don't know why, I really don't, but hello everybody, thanks for joining, all
00:00:31we're doing is this live stream, it's just a questions, that's it, we're just doing questions,
00:00:39hey, good morning, I see people already joining, but super simple, this is my monthly live stream,
00:00:46I do this because I try to answer everybody's questions throughout days and weeks and months,
00:00:54but I get a lot, like hundreds of emails a week, hundreds of messages on LinkedIn and Instagram
00:01:02and TikTok and places I don't even check anymore, I just can't answer them all, and so I was like,
00:01:07all right, I'm gonna do a monthly live stream, and so that's what we're doing, and this just
00:01:11gives you an opportunity to ask me questions, hey, everybody, I see people joining, thank you
00:01:17guys for joining, from Peru, hello, that's fantastic, that is fantastic, I'm out in South Carolina,
00:01:24it's 10 o'clock my time, yeah, thank you guys for joining, recent subscriber, love the hearts,
00:01:34thanks for joining, I am always curious as to where people are, I think it's really interesting,
00:01:40just because I live on the east coast of the US, and so, you know, sometimes there are people just
00:01:46all over the world, and it's really fun, so if you want to share where you're from, I would love
00:01:50to
00:01:50see that, but go ahead and start asking questions, I usually do this for like an hour or so, at
00:01:56the
00:01:57end of the live stream, I will be giving away 10 analyst builder courses, completely for free,
00:02:03there is no, I'm not trying to sell anything, I just like giving back, because you guys have done
00:02:08so much for me, I just want to give back, it's as simple as that, so, and by the way,
00:02:14my computer's
00:02:14right here, so I'm like looking at your comments and everything right over here, we got people from
00:02:20India, from London, England, let's see, I'm in the UK, joining from Ghana, very cool, Bulgaria, LA,
00:02:30so we got some people on the west coast, Italia South, okay, so South Italy, very nice, Mexico,
00:02:39Zimbabwe, awesome, Pakistan, awesome, well, thank you guys so much for joining, I'll keep reading
00:02:46these comments as we go, but yeah, this is a pretty chill live stream, it's nothing fancy,
00:02:54I am just going to answer your questions and do the best that I can, and then give away some
00:02:59courses
00:03:00at the end, that's it, so go ahead and start asking your questions if you have any, some people like
00:03:06to just join, because for whatever reason, they just want to hear my voice, it's like I'm, you know,
00:03:13there's Friday morning, they want to drink some coffee and listen to my voice, and that's fine,
00:03:18you can just be a lurker, just kind of a watcher, it's fine, cleaning off my glasses,
00:03:23or you can ask some questions and get some answers, it can be questions about anything,
00:03:29by the way, I see a bunch of people posting where they're from, I'll get to that in a second,
00:03:34but
00:03:35genuinely, ask on anything, it can be about life, about relationships, AI, data jobs, the economy,
00:03:43anything you think is interesting, doesn't mean I'm going to answer it, but you can ask it,
00:03:47all right, I'm going to go up, but we got more people from California, from South Africa,
00:03:54Nigeria, Romania, Lagos, Nigeria, India, Canada, France, Oregon, very cool, people from all over
00:04:01the world, so you guys are a very broad and diverse group that are watching right now,
00:04:06very cool, let's see, what is SQL for payments? I don't know what that means, give me more context,
00:04:15I don't know what that means, when it comes to, this is Donnelly, hey Donnelly, I know you,
00:04:20when it comes to posting on LinkedIn, should I focus more on my journey in completing my first
00:04:25portfolio, give me a second, I feel like this computer is way over, all right, there we go,
00:04:30good enough, let me see if I can, um, but he's, should I focus more on my journey in completing
00:04:39my
00:04:39first portfolio project, or should I do some more informative posts as well? I mean, honestly,
00:04:45when it comes to like posting on social media and building, uh, a personal brand and stuff like that,
00:04:51it's whatever you want to make it, um, I used to only post like technical content, and over time,
00:04:57it's shaped, now I post, you know, stuff about my family and running a business and other things,
00:05:02I think wherever you're at in that moment is what you should post about, so if you're building
00:05:06projects and building a portfolio, share those things, talk about how you built them, and if
00:05:11you want to post technical stuff, like if you're learning different things in SQL, or, you know,
00:05:15you learn something cool in Excel, or whatever it is, share those things, because other people may
00:05:20be learning just like you, and want to, you know, learn those things as well, and so I just think
00:05:27if
00:05:27you're, at whatever stage you're at, that's what you should be sharing, uh, and I'm a big believer in
00:05:33creating a personal brand, and posting on social media, because it's completely for free, um, you just
00:05:38have to kind of put some time into it while you're, you know, learning and whatnot, um, all right, this
00:05:44one's from Olatayinka7621, hi Alex, I'm from Nigeria, I've started my data analysis course on your
00:05:51channel a few weeks ago, maybe the intermediate level, but I'm seeing some opinions like data
00:05:55analytics doesn't, and then it cuts off, okay, I thought that was going to go somewhere, uh, if you finish
00:06:00that
00:06:00question later, then I will look at that question, do you have any advice on how to look for jobs
00:06:06in
00:06:06different countries as a data analyst, now, this is a good question, I get asked this a lot, I live
00:06:12in
00:06:12the United States, I know the United States market really well, because I've looked into it, I've
00:06:17experienced it, I've lived it, I've had jobs in different states, um, I know it extremely well, I
00:06:22don't know job hiring globally, um, all I can say is, is when I was a manager, and when I
00:06:29worked at, you
00:06:30know, just a bigger company, we would take, get a lot of contractors, uh, from other countries, so
00:06:35when I, on my team, we had people from Lithuania, in England, and in India, who are on my personal
00:06:41team who I actually hired, and we mostly hired them, uh, through companies like Accenture, or TCS, um,
00:06:48these are, you know, consulting companies in other countries, and so we paid them less, um, but it was a
00:06:53good rate for their country, but less in US dollars, and so if you have the ability, those types of
00:06:59places I know for sure are always, you know, looking for good people to hire, I don't, I'm
00:07:05pretty sure it's competitive to get into those places, but, um, other than that, I mean, remote,
00:07:10if you're looking purely for just, like, remote jobs, and you're not looking, like, in person,
00:07:16remote jobs are really saturated, very difficult, they are out there, but you're gonna have to
00:07:21work really hard to land those jobs. Let's see. Alex, any advice on getting entry-level tech jobs
00:07:30as a data analyst and business analyst? All right, I'm gonna just assume that you're, like, in the
00:07:35United States. If I were starting today, like, I'm, I don't have a degree in anything data-related.
00:07:42I don't know why people listen to me, but, um, if you were just getting started, like, if I was
00:07:48just
00:07:48out of college, maybe I have a degree in finance or whatever, and you're, like, I want to be a
00:07:52data
00:07:52analyst. What I would be doing is, one, again, okay, there's two different scenarios, right out
00:07:59of college, and, like, you already have experience in a different domain, so I'll cover both, but if
00:08:03you're right out of college, you're gonna create a portfolio, you're gonna work with things that,
00:08:08resources that you already have on hand. For example, if you get out of a college, typically,
00:08:12they have some type of resource for new hire, or for people just exiting to get a job. It's like
00:08:18career planning and all these different things, so look at your college and see if they have that
00:08:23resource. My previous college had that resource. I didn't use it, but you can use it, and what they'll
00:08:29do is they'll connect you with alumni from your school who may be hiring in that area, and so that
00:08:35is something that a lot of colleges do have in the United States, and so I would look at that.
00:08:39I would
00:08:40also be reaching out to look for internships, to look for entry-level jobs, reaching out directly
00:08:46to recruiters, you know, starting posting on social media. I have so many videos on how to apply. I also
00:08:54have a full, like, course on Analyst Builder about how to apply to jobs, and so that's, you know, that
00:09:01goes
00:09:01pretty in-depth, but that's, like, my starting advice for right out of college. Now, if you already have
00:09:05experience, let's say you were a nurse, right, for five years, and you're like, I don't really like
00:09:12the personal side of things. I like the data side of things. That's just a really common one that I
00:09:17see. A lot of people reach out to me for that exact scenario. That's why I'm using it. Let's say
00:09:21you're a nurse. You have five years of experience. Your job application is going to be slightly
00:09:25different than someone right out of college. You have experience. You want to customize your resume
00:09:29to healthcare, to your background, so that when you go and you target the companies, you don't
00:09:35just want to apply to, you know, random companies. You have experience in healthcare, so you need to
00:09:41target healthcare companies, and for research on stuff like this, this is where something like
00:09:45Claude or ChachiBT is going to be amazing. You're going to plug in your experience. You're going to
00:09:50say, here's the experience that I have. I have five years' experience doing this, this, this, this,
00:09:53and this. Give me the top 20 companies that I should be targeting for jobs. These are the ones that
00:09:58you
00:09:58want to start reaching out to for the recruiters of these companies. You want to start applying and
00:10:02customize your resume to those jobs, and of course, just applying on their websites as well. That
00:10:07always helps. All right. Let's go. Keep going. Let me get a sip of water. I get so parched during
00:10:14these live streams. All right. Data by Josh. Cool name. I have my own opinion, but which skills are
00:10:26more important to getting a job in 2026? Technical or non-technical skills? Both are super important.
00:10:33As it pertains to actually landing a job, like getting an interview, you know, nailing the interview
00:10:39and getting hired, your technical skills are crazy important for getting into the interview. Have to have
00:10:46SQL, Excel, you know, Power BI. I recommend a cloud platform, AWS, Azure, even like a data platform like
00:10:54Databricks or Snowflake. Really great to have on your resume. Some AI experience, right? You don't have to
00:11:00be a master at AI, but, you know, take a short course on it. Look, watch some YouTube videos on
00:11:05it. Learn how to
00:11:06use AI within, for example, I have a bunch of free Databricks stuff on YouTube. Those Databricks courses
00:11:16use AI really well integrated into a database system. It is the best platform right now to learn
00:11:23AI with data analytics that I have found. I love it. I've been using it myself for my actual consulting
00:11:31work, as well as just personal work, because I personally love it. And so I've been recommending
00:11:35it a lot. And it's completely free to use. Completely free. There is no cap, almost, basically,
00:11:41on what you can do. So do that. Those skills are going to help you land the interview. And once
00:11:48you
00:11:48get into the interview, I'm a firm believer that non-technical or aka, you know, soft skills are 100%
00:11:56needed. And even in the job, they're used a ton. But in the interview process, you then have to show
00:12:02your personality. You've got to smile and you've got to be confident. You have to have those social
00:12:05skills to help you land the job. Not every job is like that. But, you know, the more, the better
00:12:13your soft skills, the better chance you have of connecting with the interviewer and landing. So
00:12:19that is what I would say. But those are the best skills to have, genuinely. Let's see.
00:12:29Is Python optional for data analytics role? Yes. Yeah. Absolutely. Is not needed. Not 100% needed.
00:12:37And some jobs are like 100% Python. That's like 2% of data analytics jobs in the world. That's
00:12:43very
00:12:44rare where Python is like the main thing that you're using. Typically, it's like databases and
00:12:50different systems that, you know, it could be a CRM, some local database they have on-prem,
00:12:58some cloud-based database. It doesn't matter. It's just databases you're going to be working
00:13:01with. Those are not optional. It skips down. YouTube has a problem. I'm telling you, YouTube
00:13:11has got a problem. This happens every single live stream. I skipped over some questions.
00:13:21Oh, hey. Data by Josh. Same guy. This is my first live stream in eight months since getting
00:13:25my first data job, by the way. So fun to be here as I've learned so much. Hey, congratulations.
00:13:32Share where you got your job, where you're working. It doesn't have to be like the company
00:13:35name. It could just be your country or wherever. People are always interested in that. If you
00:13:40want to share other details like salary or how long it took to get a job, share that because
00:13:44people, you know, people are here to learn and, you know, you, you, you're the master
00:13:48here. You got the job. So, you know, share away. That's always good. Um, okay.
00:14:00Been here since 2020. This is Jeffrey B. And you helped me land a job with Disney. Hey,
00:14:06congratulations. Disney's a big company, a really cool company. Uh, if, again, if you want
00:14:11to share some details, please do, uh, cause it's really, really helpful. Um, what's your
00:14:16opinion about the new version of Google data analyst professional certificate? Um, all right.
00:14:20So, uh, spoiler, I will be creating a Google AI professional certificate. Uh, I have that
00:14:29video. I'm, I'm recording it right now. I'll have that in a couple of weeks, maybe like two
00:14:32or three weeks. Um, the Google data analyst professional certificate. I made a video on that
00:14:37like three or four years ago. And at the time, I mean, it was okay. It was pretty good. I
00:14:42think
00:14:42it for a, like a very beginner, it's a good course. You learn a lot of the terminology.
00:14:48You learn a little bit of SQL, a little bit of Excel, you know, you learn some of the basics.
00:14:52None of it goes in depth. Um, and that's not really what it's made for. So it's like, it's
00:14:58decent. It's not going to get you a job. Uh, but it's decent. Like my content in my data
00:15:04analyst bootcamp for free on YouTube goes 100,000 times more in depth, but it's extremely
00:15:11hands-on. It's not a lot of theory. Uh, the Google data analyst professional certificate
00:15:16is more theory. Now the AI professional certificate that they created and released, I actually
00:15:20really liked. I actually think it's pretty good. It says beginner, but I took the whole
00:15:25thing cause I had a ton of people asking me about it. I took the whole thing and I actually
00:15:30really liked it. Um, the Google has some good stuff. It just depends on what you're
00:15:35going for. Um, the Google data analyst professional certificate, I don't think is like a must have
00:15:41in my opinion. I think my free data analyst bootcamp on my YouTube channel is better than
00:15:48that one. But the AI one is actually better than what you'll find in most places.
00:15:55It says, um, would love if you could gift, this is, uh, mux, muxic max. Would love if you can
00:16:01get
00:16:01the new data, data bricks course. It would increase the skillset and love your platform. By the way,
00:16:06I'm super glad to hear that. I will be giving out 10 codes at the end of this live stream
00:16:13to give 10 courses for free away on analyst builder. And if you were one of those lucky people,
00:16:18you will get it for free. Um, but yes, I have a full data bricks course that goes way more
00:16:23in
00:16:23depth than anything I have on YouTube. Um, it's an awesome course. I love it. Uh, data bricks is
00:16:28like one of my favorite platforms right now. And I'm super lucky because they, uh, also, you know,
00:16:35wanted me to be part of, you know, some of their social stuff. I did some webinars with them.
00:16:39Um, I just love data bricks. I was really honored that they wanted me to work with them,
00:16:43but that I liked them before they ever wanted, uh, to work with me. So, you know,
00:16:48it wasn't the other way around, you know, I'm not, not, not some shady, uh, not some shady stuff
00:16:53going on. I promise. All right, let's go to the next one. Share your insights on the USA market
00:16:58as you mentioned. Okay. I know the USA market really well. USA market is, has been saturated
00:17:07for a while. Recently, it's more difficult simply because of economic pressures. Companies are like
00:17:14big tech companies, especially are laying out like 10,000 people at a time. That's not all data
00:17:18analysts, but it is like a lot of professionals in the hack and data world. Um, what this is just
00:17:25doing is causing a lot of really highly skilled people to do other things. It doesn't mean that
00:17:32you're all competing for the same jobs because you're not, but what that does mean is, is, you know,
00:17:38these people are either starting other startups, they are joining other companies, they're, you know,
00:17:43taking riskier, less paying jobs. Now, what I've told basically everybody, and I've had a lot of
00:17:50people reach out since I've started talking about this, maybe like a year ago, um, say, Hey, that was
00:17:55exactly what I needed. Here's my advice is I know online, you see the headlines, you're, you're,
00:18:04you want to make that a hundred thousand dollars, you know, data analyst job at Facebook.
00:18:09My recommendation is not to start with that. I'm not going to tell you to not do that.
00:18:13Go apply for that job if you'd like to, but my recommendation is to look local. Now I live out
00:18:19in
00:18:19Charleston, South Carolina. So if I went right now, there are data jobs and data analyst jobs in the
00:18:27Charleston, um, Mount Pleasant, you know, South Carolina, uh, Somerville, like that area that are
00:18:35data analyst jobs. They are not going to pay as much as jobs that are like, you know, from Silicon
00:18:42Valley, right? From LA remote jobs. They're not, they're going to pay 50, 60 grand, maybe 65, 75.
00:18:51And I have looked, that's what they're going to pay. So you're not going to be getting this huge
00:18:57giant salary that you may be expecting or wanting, but you are going to be able to land a job.
00:19:02And why I
00:19:02say look locals? Cause those local jobs do not want people remote. Like that's a Southern thing.
00:19:08Maybe like out in Dallas, when I was in Dallas, they wanted someone in office in Dallas. The same
00:19:13thing with like in this area, they want someone to come into the office. They want to see them.
00:19:17They want to get to know them, have them be part of the team. They're more people focused in some
00:19:22aspects and other parts of the country. And so I would have a hundred times easier job landing a job
00:19:29locally. Even if it's going to be for 15 or $20,000 less, I'm going to be able to get
00:19:34that job
00:19:34and then use that experience later on to work our way up. So the job market, especially for remote jobs
00:19:43is like horrible. Remote jobs are so tough to get right now. And they have been for like two to
00:19:49three
00:19:49years, but local jobs are still really in demand. And that's where a lot of people have been reaching
00:19:56out. They're saying, Hey, I landed a job locally. I'm out in Seattle. I'm out in Dallas. I'm out in
00:20:02Miami. It's a lot of like the big, uh, uh, metropolitan areas, but there's even people who are like, you
00:20:08know, something Nebraska and I've never heard of it. And they got a job. And I'm like, that's amazing.
00:20:12The local jobs tend to be the place where I've been recommending and I've been seeing the most success.
00:20:22All right, let's keep going. I'm behind on questions. I take too long to answer questions
00:20:26and I talk, feel like I talk too long on each topic.
00:20:34Uh, I'm sorry, I can't say your name right, but I'm trying. I really want to learn data analysis,
00:20:41but I don't have a laptop yet. Do you think it's a waste of time to use my mobile phone
00:20:45to learn the
00:20:45basics or should I get a laptop before learning anything? Start with what you have. I totally
00:20:51get that. Uh, just start with what you have. You do not need a laptop. I think you can learn
00:20:56a lot
00:20:57from free resources online that you can actually do from your phone. One example, and you know,
00:21:03you don't have to do this, but on analyst builder, we, you know, wanted to make the user experience for
00:21:08the phone really good. So there's a free section on our platform where you can, you know, write SQL
00:21:14and you can write Python for free and you do it all on your phone. And there are other platforms
00:21:19like that. And so, you know, go ask ChatGPT, go ask, go Google it and just find platforms where you
00:21:26can learn things for free, um, on your phone that are phone specific. Cause you really can learn a lot
00:21:33using your phone. And then once you get your, you can watch videos and watch tutorials on things like
00:21:39Power BI, which is only desktop or you can only do on like a computer and then watch it, try
00:21:45to
00:21:45understand it, understand like, you know, the data modeling and the data transformation and data
00:21:49refreshes and all these things. And then when you do get a laptop, go and practice it, right? You just
00:21:54do what, with what you have. You don't have to have, uh, everything before you start. I say,
00:21:59start with what you got. Uh, sir, when will you start making videos for the advanced DAX course?
00:22:07I will be making some more, I've already made some advanced courses on analyst builder that are full
00:22:13courses. Um, I'll be making some more advanced courses, um, as well as a statistics course that's
00:22:19coming, um, and a snowflake course that's also coming. So, uh, yeah, I got, um, I got lots of
00:22:26courses coming and DAX is, uh, a, an advanced Power BI course with advanced DAX will be coming
00:22:32in as well. Um, how to get free data analyst bootcamp. All right. If you have never been
00:22:38on my channel, you're new to Alex the analyst, which is my alter ego for data stuff, go to
00:22:45my homepage and probably one of the first thing that pops up is my data analyst bootcamp. It's
00:22:50a playlist. Uh, actually it's a one video. Now I put all the videos in the playlist into
00:22:55one video is now just one video. It's like 25 hours long. I am about to release in like
00:23:02a month, a like 30 hour bootcamp, which is even bigger. It takes a lot of the data brick
00:23:08stuff, some AI stuff. And I, I added on to the end of the original bootcamp. Um, and I'm
00:23:13also replacing some SQL server stuff with my SQL to make it more ubiquitous amongst different
00:23:19operating systems. So, um, just go and watch that video, go watch it. It is in my opinion,
00:23:25and I, I hate it. I hate that it's mine, but in my opinion is the best free data resource
00:23:33on the planet. That one video. And I'm going to make it even better in like a month. It's
00:23:40going to be even longer with more free resources. It's all already on my YouTube channel. I'm
00:23:44just putting it together for people to be able to follow it easier. All right, let me get
00:23:50some water and then I'll keep going.
00:23:57Mustafa Eamon, given my business background, I'm exploring different domains, MKT, sales,
00:24:02supply chain, e-commerce analysis. Which of these has stronger long-term demand and is considered
00:24:07more core to business? Um, I don't know. I don't have a good answer for that. There's so
00:24:16many different domains, so many different aspects to businesses. It's hard to pinpoint
00:24:22just one, honestly. All of them are important in some way. I can't tell you which one's like,
00:24:29which one's going to last the longest. I don't know. Um,
00:24:33um, hey, this is from Sakshi Arora. Hey, former actuarial analyst here from India. Very cool.
00:24:46Left my job four months ago to pivot to data. I know Python, SQL BI tools, I have portfolio,
00:24:51but can't land a role. What skill or resume tweak am I missing? Well, I don't see your resume in
00:24:56front
00:24:56of me. Just skills-wise, I, I have been recommending this for at least the past three years. At least
00:25:03adding some type of cloud-based platform. It could be Salesforce. It could be Databricks. It could be
00:25:09Snowflake, AWS, Azure. I don't care. Whatever one you is in your niche, in your industry, you can do
00:25:14some research on that. Um, put one of those on your resume, learn it and put it on your resume
00:25:19because
00:25:19honestly, a lot, so many companies are doing that. So many companies are using tools and if you already
00:25:25have it and they like that. Um, other than that, I can't really tell from much from just, you know,
00:25:32just that I can't give more advice. All right, let me look. Um,
00:25:47oh, that's not a question. All right. So I'm reading through questions. Give me just a second,
00:25:50just to, I, some of these I've already answered. Some I just don't understand. Um,
00:25:55and some are just chatting with other people in the chat, which is great. Get to know people,
00:25:59connect on LinkedIn, uh, uh, go out for coffee in real life, find love, get married, have kids.
00:26:08That's the dream. That is the dream. And it could happen in this chat, but if you're not chatting,
00:26:14if you're not typing, if you're not making connections, that may not happen for you.
00:26:17Um, I'm just saying there's a lot of people from, uh, Lagos, Nigeria in here,
00:26:22just saying to find, find your husband or wife in here.
00:26:27Um, this, I don't know why I'm just going off on it right now. Um, hi Alex, have you developed
00:26:32a
00:26:32Power BI dashboard using AI? If you do, which AI tool did you use? No, I have not used, uh,
00:26:41AI or
00:26:42building a dashboard in Power BI specifically. Now I have built, uh, dashboards in Databricks
00:26:49using AI. Very good. Uh, out of a scale of a 10, I'd give it like a seven, but that's
00:26:56still like
00:26:56the highest I've seen or the best I've seen for AI dashboards. Um, Databricks in and of itself
00:27:02has a very simple dashboard. Like think of it like, like what you're going to find in like Excel,
00:27:11but it's the basics, right? Bar charts, line graphs, uh, tables. You're not going to get
00:27:17anything fancy and you don't necessarily need fancy, but you aren't going to get a ton of fancy
00:27:23stuff. And there's a lot of things with like filters that they don't have. So again, take this
00:27:26with a grain of salt, but you can use the, the genie code to build a full dashboard for you,
00:27:31specify what you want. It'll go and build it like 80% of the way. It'll be pretty close to
00:27:36what you
00:27:37want. And then you're going to have to go in and you're going to have to fix it a bit.
00:27:40Um, but just,
00:27:41yeah, I've, I've used AI for some dashboards. Um, but no, not in Power BI.
00:27:52All right, let's see.
00:27:55Not a question. Not a question. I already answered that one.
00:28:13Sorry, I'm reading through questions. Some of the, a lot of these I've answered already or
00:28:17I don't want to answer. I don't understand them. Uh, Steve, Steve Ruger, 6429. I just got hired as
00:28:25a big data consultant pressure role. Any advice? Um, first off, congratulations. That's super exciting.
00:28:34Uh, I remember the excitement and like the nerves on that first day of that new job. Uh, I miss
00:28:40it.
00:28:41I miss, I miss a little bit of that. I don't get nervous much anymore. Uh, not because of ego
00:28:47or
00:28:48I'm like super confident. I just, um, I don't know. I feel more prepared these days. Um, anyways,
00:28:57I miss that excitement. I'm excited for you. What I would do is I would just say, uh, you know,
00:29:03get in there and try to understand, like, don't get in there and try to start making a bunch of
00:29:10big
00:29:11changes or make a take on a bunch of big projects right away. Um, if you're a consultant, like if
00:29:16you're at a consulting company, they're going to hand off a project to you, hopefully give you some
00:29:20type of mentor or senior to follow and shadow. Um, just learn and learn and learn as quickly as
00:29:26possible. What that means is, is try to understand the business first. Um, they're going to introduce
00:29:32you to clients. They're going to introduce you to their internal systems, into their databases and
00:29:38all these things. Just try to absorb as much as possible. Ask a thousand questions. They don't
00:29:44expect you to know everything right away. You know, that that's called imposter syndrome. You're
00:29:48going to feel like you're supposed to know everything right away. You are not. All right.
00:29:52You're supposed to be learning. So kind of a junior role, just get in there and get your feet wet,
00:29:58um, and take things on as you can. Look for opportunities after a week or two for small wins.
00:30:05Maybe it's updating a data dictionary that's out of date. Maybe it's, you know, emailing, uh, an
00:30:10update to something that they're getting every week. Something small and just take that on,
00:30:15make it a small win and then go from there. But those first 30 days are mostly for small stuff
00:30:20and learning. Don't sweat like having to know everything. All right. But congratulations.
00:30:27Super exciting. I love hearing that. A lot of people in the chat who have been getting hired,
00:30:30uh, recently. That's really good. That should be, you know, a positive thing for everyone out here.
00:30:35There are absolutely people getting hired. There are jobs out there. Uh, you know, if people want
00:30:40to share who've landed jobs recently, if you want to share how you got that job, what app, what route
00:30:45you took, maybe you got it from a friend of a friend. Maybe it was online. Uh, you know, maybe
00:30:50a
00:30:50recruiter reached out to you on LinkedIn, whatever it was, if you want to share that, that is really
00:30:54helpful information. Let's see. Let's see. All right. Uh, Sied Shahud 7666. It's 2026. Uh, I just
00:31:08started the projects that you have added to your channel. Can you tell me if I do all the projects?
00:31:13Can you tell me if I do all the projects? Question mark. I don't think that's a question.
00:31:17What's your advice to build impressive CVS certifications? I am from Pakistan. Thank you.
00:31:22Hello from Pakistan. I have some friends from Pakistan. Uh, uh, let me think.
00:31:32You don't need certifications. I don't think you need any certification. You can get certifications.
00:31:39There's only a few that I actually think are worth it. And there's thousands out there.
00:31:43The ones that I think are actually useful are ones like the Power BI certification. There's
00:31:48the AWS certification. Azure also has like a data analyst certification now. Um, those
00:31:54are actually quite good. And I would say they're really good learning opportunities as well.
00:31:58I took the Azure one. I've taken, no, I've taken all of those. Um, I've also taken other
00:32:05ones that I don't recommend. Like I've taken some Salesforce ones. Uh, I've taken some ServiceNow
00:32:10ones. Um, and they're just, they're okay. They're just don't mean much, but you know,
00:32:15those are ones if you want to get certifications, those are the ones I get. If you go into alextheanalyst
00:32:19.com,
00:32:20uh, I don't go on there much anymore to post things, but I have, it's just a bunch of resources,
00:32:27resources of best certifications to take with links to them, best certifications to all different
00:32:31stuff. So I would recommend, um, I would recommend checking those out. Um, but yeah, build projects,
00:32:39build projects, create a portfolio. It's all good things. This is an interesting one. I have a mock
00:32:46interview for the role of data analyst tomorrow and I'm a fresher. I don't know much about Python
00:32:52library. Can you help me with things I need to prepare for? Can you guide me? I mean, I can
00:32:58give
00:32:58you a little advice. Um, I'm guessing a mock interview just means it's not a real interview.
00:33:03That's my assumption. Maybe it is a real interview, but mock interview to me just means it's a fake
00:33:08interview. Um, which is good. It's low pressure. They're going to be asking you questions. I have
00:33:14lots of videos, by the way, on what data analyst interviews look like. I also made a full course
00:33:18on what, on like data analyst interviews and like getting a job. So go onto YouTube, search for my
00:33:24videos on that specific topic. You're going to get asked, it can be a such a wide range, but if
00:33:30you're
00:33:30asking specifically about like Python libraries, uh, well you just said Python lib. I'm guessing you meant
00:33:36Python libraries, things like pandas and numpy and, uh, uh, you know, polars and like just some of the
00:33:42popular ones. I'm guessing you're not going to need things like, uh, PyTorch and all these different
00:33:49machine learning stuff. I hope not, but, um, just familiarize yourself with these. There's free
00:33:54resources. I've made free resources on all of those, uh, myself. So, um, you know, familiar,
00:34:01familiarize yourself with them so that when you get in there, they ask you a question like,
00:34:05hey, how would you handle data cleaning in Python? You would say, oh, I might use this library and
00:34:10you can use this, use this with it. Like that's how, that's what I would do. What are the high
00:34:15paying jobs in recent times? I'm going to answer that in just a second. I need some water.
00:34:23By the way, it is 1030. We're about halfway done with this live stream. Continue to stay if you want
00:34:29at the very end, right around 11 o'clock. I'm going to be doing a giveaway for 10 free analyst
00:34:35builder courses. Just so you know, you do need to have an analyst builder account and be signed in
00:34:43in order to use this. I'm just disclaimer. People all, they, what happens is we get to the end and
00:34:49they're like, I don't know what to do. I don't know how to do this. I'm going to explain it
00:34:53to you.
00:34:54I'm going to walk through it with you. But I'm just saying, you got to be, you got to have
00:34:58an
00:34:58account. What are high paying jobs in recent times? So there's a lot of jobs that pay a lot
00:35:07of money. I'm just going to start there. There's a ton. And in recent times, what I've seen a lot
00:35:15of
00:35:15high paying jobs is of course that companies, big fortune 500 companies, you know, these jobs just
00:35:23because of the nature of their work, they have so much money, they're able to pay more. It doesn't
00:35:28matter what it is. Data analyst, business analyst, data scientist, analytics engineer,
00:35:36data engineer, all these jobs are going to pay well. The more technical roles tend to pay more. So if
00:35:41you're like a solutions architect or a database architect, which I've worked with many of them,
00:35:48they tend to get paid really well because it's extremely technical. It's a lot about optimizing
00:35:52and a lot of data storage and things like that. And business analysts on the range of those jobs tend
00:35:58to make the least, but they're still making a great salary. So that's one thing. The second thing is
00:36:04niches, right? Healthcare and finance tend to pay quite well when it comes to data side of things.
00:36:13There's a lot of other ones. If you get it, it's like e-commerce, certain marketing companies,
00:36:17those can do really well also. And then it depends on like location. So if you're living in a major
00:36:22metropolitan area, think Miami, Dallas, New York, LA, these are places where you're just naturally
00:36:30going to make more. So if you're in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming and you work at like a
00:36:37random
00:36:38company that is just there, you know, maybe you're going to make $40,000, but for that area,
00:36:44that might be a great salary. Maybe everyone's making like 20. You're here making 40. But so it's
00:36:49all relative, right? A lot of well-paying jobs are relative. Data analyst jobs are still, you know,
00:36:55in demand and there's still a lot of need for it. People who just understand and work with data well,
00:37:01that could be data scientist. In my opinion, data scientist jobs tend to be very specific,
00:37:08right? There's a specific use case why you're hiring a data scientist, whereas data analyst jobs
00:37:13tend to be, you know, more ubiquitous, more generalized. So take this all into consideration.
00:37:20There's a lot of factors that go into that. All right, let's make sure, you know. All right.
00:37:26Is it okay to use AI as a mentor in some ways? In regards to teaching you coding, but also
00:37:34soft
00:37:34skills, LinkedIn posts, CVs, et cetera, but not explicitly telling you the answer, just teaching
00:37:40it. Look, I learn a lot from AI. I highly recommend it. I wouldn't say, I would not use the
00:37:49word
00:37:50mentor. A mentor is somebody who has hands-on experience, who's lived through the challenges,
00:37:58and then can give you advice on it and help you learn faster. I would consider this more like
00:38:05a teacher. And the difference is, is they're there just to teach you. Whereas a mentor is there to help
00:38:13you in like business and in life and understanding all these different things in a personal way.
00:38:18I don't know if that's a huge difference to some people, but to me, I've had many good mentors
00:38:23in my life, in my career, who have made immense differences in my life. And I would not call,
00:38:33I would not say AI has done that for me in any way. So again, I'm not trying to be
00:38:40mean. I'm just
00:38:41saying, I wouldn't use the word mentor. I would just use it as like a teaching assistant.
00:38:46And in that way, absolutely, I would use it. You know, there's all sorts of concepts and things
00:38:53that I'm still learning. And what I do is, is I watch videos on it. I try to implement it.
00:39:00I run
00:39:00into an issue. And then I say, okay, AI, here's what I understand. Here's what I'm trying to do.
00:39:06Explain why this isn't working. And I have it explain it to me. And I say, okay, show me what
00:39:11I need to do
00:39:12and explain why. And then I implement and I do it. I'm like, of course, it makes so much sense
00:39:17now
00:39:17that I have been shown how to do it. And so it's really great for doing it like that. It
00:39:24all depends
00:39:24on how you do it. I wouldn't just say, hey, teach me SQL. It's going to be really generic. It's
00:39:29going
00:39:29to be really boring. I'm a builder. I learn through building. That's how I work. So I need to be
00:39:34building
00:39:35something, building a database, working with a complex data set, and then learn from that.
00:39:41And that's how I've learned a lot from using AI. But, you know, when I say AI, I've been doing
00:39:48that with things like Stack Overflow when that was really popular. It's gone downhill, of course,
00:39:56since then. But I used to use Stack Overflow all the time. And the same thing would happen.
00:40:00It's not as much about AI is just this genius. It's about how you use it to learn. I hope
00:40:06that
00:40:06makes sense. Somebody was like, portfolio website was clutch for landing a job. Yes. I think it's
00:40:15really useful. And it helps you gain a lot of confidence, too. All right, let's see.
00:40:25Jeffrey B., I'm reading a lot of your stuff. You're just having good commentary. But the industry is
00:40:28converting back to in-person at least three days a week. There are a lot of companies that, since
00:40:34COVID, have been doing return to office. And some of that is just they genuinely believe that people
00:40:41work better in person. Some of that is they invest in real estate, and they want the property to
00:40:47actually hold value, and it's worthless if everyone works from home. And so they're bringing everybody
00:40:51back in because their real estate portfolio was really hurting. That's not a joke. That is a real
00:40:58thing. So, you know, you might have to be going back to office just so people can maintain the value
00:41:04of their property. That is the truth. Okay, Donnelly. Yes. Let's say you live in one area.
00:41:13You want to relocate to another area. Do I need to actually move to the city before I start applying,
00:41:18or can I apply, oh, I'm still in my current city? No. I'm going to give you a perfect example.
00:41:23And
00:41:23this was a mentor, a mentee of mine that I mentored about three or four years ago. He was living
00:41:29in
00:41:29Canada. I had a mentoring service where I did one-on-one service with people. And I tried to
00:41:35keep it super cheap. It was like 75 bucks a month. I met, no, 75 bucks, like, no, 75 bucks
00:41:41a month. I
00:41:41just, I was trying to do it for almost nothing. I forgot how little I was charging. 75 bucks a
00:41:46month.
00:41:46And I just met with people once a month, uh, just to like walk through questions about technical
00:41:53stuff. It was more about landing jobs. And so this guy was living in Canada and he wanted to move
00:41:59to
00:41:59Minnesota and really smart guy. He was one of my more like ambitious, successful people. Here's what
00:42:08he did. And this is what I recommended to him. Then he did it. And then he got the job
00:42:12and it all worked
00:42:13out. But he had dual citizenship, but was living in Canada. And what he did was, is he was applying
00:42:21to Minnesota and he was just saying, Hey, I am moving there in three months. So I'm looking for a
00:42:27job. If I got a job right now, I would move there now. And so the way he was framing
00:42:33it, because he was
00:42:34going to move there is, Hey, I'm coming whether you hire me or not. So that shouldn't be a barrier
00:42:39to
00:42:40hiring me because I'm going to be there. Whether you're, you hire me or not, essentially is what
00:42:44he's saying. It basically tells the interviewer, this person is going to be here. I don't have to
00:42:50worry about, you know, all these different things. And so he did that. He got a bunch of different
00:42:56jobs. He got a job at, uh, M three years at 3M. What's that company that makes all those like
00:43:01sticky things? Googling this. Yeah. 3M. Yeah. 3M. That's it. So he worked, he got a job at 3M.
00:43:10I'm doing that exact thing. Excuse me. And so, um, my advice, that's just his, that was, you know,
00:43:19what he did. My advice is you don't have to move somewhere and then get a job. Uh, I don't
00:43:27think
00:43:27that makes a lot of logical sense because then you're gonna have to be paying rents. You have
00:43:31expenses and you don't have a job. Um, if you don't land a job within the first six months,
00:43:35then that is terrible. Uh, you're gonna start borrowing money from, you know, your friends
00:43:39and you don't want to do that. So what I recommend is while you still have a job or if
00:43:44you're looking
00:43:45for a job to target certain areas and say, Hey, I'm going to be moving there in two months.
00:43:51Excuse me. I'm going to be moving there in X amount of days, whatever you want to say.
00:43:57And I, I'm just setting up a job. I'm moving there for, you know, my wife is moving. My
00:44:03wife got a job there and we're moving into the area. I'm moving there because I want to
00:44:07retire or that's not a good one. Cause you're not going to retire. I just, you know, think
00:44:12about that. Think about how you want to phrase that, but you understand the concept. I do not
00:44:17recommend moving and then trying to find jobs. I also don't recommend quitting a job and then
00:44:23trying to find a job. Not a good idea. Are you vibe coding all those funky Python visualizations?
00:44:32Uh, no, no, I don't know what that, I don't know what you're referencing. Um, I don't do a ton
00:44:40of vibe
00:44:41coding. Um, I do a little like depending on what I'm doing, but I'm good enough at writing it where
00:44:49it actually having AI write some of it actually slows me down. And so I don't do a ton of
00:44:55vibe
00:44:55coding. Um, for visualizations, I don't think I've ever in Python used AI for visualizations, but it
00:45:04would be a great use case. I would use it. Like if I was, but I don't, a lot of
00:45:07my consulting work is
00:45:08not in Python. I don't, I have a, I have several consulting clients. None of them use, um, none of
00:45:15them use Python, at least for the stuff that I'm working on. And so it's mostly in like databases
00:45:20and stuff like that. Give me a second. This is a good question. It's from Anna.
00:45:32This says, if I want to do healthcare analytics and SQL is my weakness, which combo should I focus
00:45:37on AWS Databricks or Azure Snowflake for a project? If SQL is your weakness, focus on SQL.
00:45:45I'm just being honest with you. I worked in healthcare. That was my, that's my background.
00:45:50That was my domain. Um, and I've consulted with a lot of, uh, healthcare companies since then.
00:45:57Almost every single one uses. So I wouldn't skip SQL to look at those other things. You got to start
00:46:05with the fundamentals because I would not tell you to go and learn Databricks if you don't know SQL.
00:46:10I just wouldn't. You have to know like how databases store data. That's SQL. You have to know how to
00:46:15query data. That's SQL. You have to understand how data refreshes and data, uh, uh, uh, APIs connect to
00:46:23things. And a lot of that you can learn in SQL. And so I wouldn't recommend skipping it. I just
00:46:30wouldn't.
00:46:35This is a good question. This is from, oh, I'm going to butcher this. This is just a long one.
00:46:39Mahek Srivastava 5248. Hey Alex, if I start learning data analysis today, should I learn
00:46:46everything on my own as taught in your bootcamp or should I learn these AI tools like Claude
00:46:51in Excel, Alteryx Excel in data alongside? Here's my genuine opinion. I think if you, if you start
00:46:59with AI and you lean on AI really heavily, then you're not really going to understand much. Like
00:47:07in your brain, you won't really fully understand it. And then when you hit roadblocks, even that AI
00:47:14can't solve for you, you're going to have no idea what to do. Uh, we're already seeing this a lot,
00:47:19especially with programmers or like new programmers who are trying to like vibe code apps and stuff.
00:47:24Um, it can get a semblance of an idea, but then actually implementing things very difficult
00:47:30for them and it just breaks. And then they try to fix things and it breaks.
00:47:35I worry about this and this, I'm not getting onto you. This is like more, more larger issue.
00:47:40I worry about a lot of professionals in the data world that are growing up in this age of AI,
00:47:46um,
00:47:47simply because they don't actually have to think through processes. And so I am a firm believer
00:47:54that you need to know the fundamentals before you jump into things. You can use AI to vibe code,
00:48:01if you want to call it that, a dashboard. If you don't understand how and why it created it that
00:48:06way
00:48:06or what the actual business use case is or how you're going to explain it to, you know, the person
00:48:12that you're making it for, then you don't really have a job. You are just there to supervise AI to
00:48:18do
00:48:18what it's doing and it doesn't know what it's doing. So it's pretty useless in my opinion.
00:48:24So, I 100% recommend learning the basics. Understand how databases really actually work.
00:48:32Understand how queries actually, or how queries are actually operating behind the scenes.
00:48:38And I'll give you a prime example of this. Um, and I did this in the, this was in the
00:48:42Databricks course on Analyst Builder. In our final project, we used AI for some stuff and this was me.
00:48:49I was like live doing this project and we ran into some issues. I know in my head how the
00:48:54code
00:48:54is supposed to look because I've been coding for a long time. I'm, I know what it's supposed to look
00:48:58like. I know exactly what it's supposed to do in my head. I just wanted to use AI to do
00:49:03it faster,
00:49:04maybe a little better. But then as it started writing it out, I knew like in a fraction of,
00:49:09like it took me like two seconds to identify, Hey, there's an issue. I know there's an issue,
00:49:13but when you run the code, the code works. The code gives an output, but I knew it was wrong.
00:49:18And so then I had to prompt it again and say, Hey, I see what you're doing here,
00:49:23but here's what you need to actually be doing. And then it was like, Oh, that's what you mean.
00:49:27Let me go do that. These are the types of things that if you just trust AI completely,
00:49:32you're going to get stuck at that level one and you'll never pass it. And you're going to,
00:49:37it's going to be really dangerous. So I know that was a simple question.
00:49:40I would not start using AI and Claude and all these things in different tools until you actually
00:49:46know what Claude is going to do with those tools. I hope that makes sense. I'm not trying to make
00:49:52you feel bad. I think it's a really good question. And a lot of new people, they don't want to
00:49:58feel
00:49:59behind, right? They're right out of college or something. And they're like, I don't want to feel
00:50:02like the newbie. So I'm going to use AI for everything so that I look really good. But in doing
00:50:07that, they handicap their actual skills and it makes it harder for them to get past what AI is
00:50:15capable of. And trust me, I've been using AI so much. I feel like I've hit a lot of limitations
00:50:21in a lot of different areas. And not, if I hadn't, if I didn't already know what I knew,
00:50:27I would just be stuck. I wouldn't know how to progress. You can prompt AI a thousand times,
00:50:32but if you don't know what you're doing, it doesn't, it's not going to get past that.
00:50:41That is my firm belief. And we'll, I've been posting about this on like LinkedIn and stuff
00:50:46too. So I promise you, this is not a new take. I've been feeling this way for a while now.
00:50:53Is Oracle the most popular DBMS in companies? It's definitely one of the most popular, yes.
00:51:00Um, and it's just integrated into so many companies for so long that they don't want to
00:51:06switch. They're most like, Oracle is not getting a lot of new customers. All right. They're not out
00:51:12here. Their sales team is like minuscule. Their legal department is like half of their company
00:51:18because all these companies who are in Oracle want, are like suing Oracle. And you can look this
00:51:24up. This is a hundred percent true. They're suing Oracle and Oracle is basically like, uh, uh, uh,
00:51:30our legal team says, look at the contract. And because of that, companies like cannot get out
00:51:34of Oracle contracts and they can't switch new systems. They haven't for like 20 years. It's terrible.
00:51:40Um, but no, Oracle, um, is, is one of the most popular in terms of usage, not the most popular
00:51:46in terms of new acquisition. That's all I'll say. Skip down. I was reading the question. Skip down.
00:51:58Sorry. Uh, all right. Putting that person on timeout. I don't like spam. You're spamming.
00:52:10I'm just going to, I'm going to boot you. I usually have moderators here, but they couldn't
00:52:13come and that's no, no big deal. Um, I have to mod it myself. The worst is the worst. I
00:52:20feel
00:52:20bad having to kick people, but I'll do it. I'll do in a heartbeat. Uh, let's see. I'm just reading
00:52:28more questions. We get a few more questions and then we'll start the giveaway in about five
00:52:36minutes or so. You started data engineering course with Azure. I have an Azure course,
00:52:43an AWS and Azure course on analyst builder right now that goes really in depth. It's kind
00:52:47of more data engineering focused actually. My dog barking, if you can hear him. Um, I also
00:52:52have free Azure and AWS stuff on my YouTube channel. So just go check that out.
00:52:59Where would you start with learning how to use and apply for data slash marketing?
00:53:08Where would you start with learning? I don't understand that question. I'm sorry. Maybe
00:53:14you have to rephrase it for me. I don't, I don't know what that means. Um, all right,
00:53:19let me answer a few more questions.
00:53:27Is AI going to replace me? Uh, depends on a lot of different factors. Here's my take on AI.
00:53:34AI. And this has been fairly consistent for the past like year or two. I love AI. I use
00:53:42it all the time. Love it. Um, and so many companies are trying to use AI. Not all. Not even,
00:53:53I wouldn't
00:53:53even say most. I would just say like the big ones, right? They start with this new revolutionary
00:53:58technology. They figure out all the kinks. Goes to, you know, higher companies and down to
00:54:02smaller companies. Most companies aren't, aren't using AI, um, at all. So in that aspect, those
00:54:08jobs are totally fine. But as AI changes and grows and all these things, there's a lot of
00:54:16opportunity. Um, and I've seen it myself. Like I'm a consultant. I get brought into companies
00:54:20companies and I get, I got a message this morning from somebody who said, Hey, I saw your stuff
00:54:25on YouTube. My company's trying to do this. We'd like to hire you to do XYZ. And it was
00:54:31involving AI. That is the kind of stuff that is happening all over the country, all over
00:54:38the world right now. People don't know how to use it. Uh, they have ideas. They think they
00:54:42know how to make it work. They don't really understand how all these pieces connect. Um, and then when they
00:54:48do get it implemented, it does not always live up to their expectations. And so companies
00:54:53are trying to use it, hoping it'll, you know, help their bottom line. It doesn't always happen.
00:55:01And so when that happens, there's going to be a gap and you need someone to fill that gap.
00:55:06Often a data professional doesn't always mean data analyst. Maybe it's a data engineer, analytics
00:55:10engineer, data scientist, analyst, uh, analyst, business analyst, whatever it is. Um, but there's
00:55:16going to be lots of gaps and lots of companies. Um, and so I, I do think that a lot
00:55:25of data
00:55:25professionals are going to be pretty okay, uh, in the long run, especially over the next
00:55:29five, 10 years, I see more need for people who really understand things than less. Um,
00:55:37all right, last question. Uh, this isn't a full question. This says, so you're now having
00:55:43data engineering stuff on your website, AKA analyst builder. Um, I have some, I have some,
00:55:48but not a, not a, it's mostly data analyst focused.
00:55:52Any advice for a new data manager? Troy R9698. If you're a new data manager, hey, congrats.
00:55:59Um, I do have some advice. Um, you're going to come in and you're going to have like a team.
00:56:04Um, I remember that feeling a little overwhelming, you know, you're like, oh my gosh,
00:56:09are you people now? I used to be just an individual contributor. Just get to know people. Um,
00:56:14really lean on the personal side of management and make people feel valued. If there's a bad apple,
00:56:24get rid of them. I've had to do that. I fired a few people and it doesn't feel great,
00:56:30but I can tell you that, that they were dragging my team down and getting rid of them was like
00:56:36the
00:56:36best thing. Uh, when other teammates are coming to you saying, Hey, that person over there is
00:56:42causing issues. They're not getting their work done. I'm not able to get my work done because
00:56:46of them. And you keep having to remind them it's time to let them go to cut bad employees off
00:56:51early
00:56:52that a precedent. This is, we don't tolerate bad employees. Um, be really personable,
00:56:58help people out, give people the benefit of the doubt, let people take PTO when they want to take
00:57:04PTO. Um, always advocate for promotions, always try to budget and get a higher budget for your team
00:57:11to get promotions and, and different things. Your team will love you for it. Um, if your upper
00:57:19people say no, then you say, Hey guys, Hey team, I, you know, this is what I advocated for. They
00:57:24will
00:57:24appreciate it anyways. So just try to always make your team look better, feel better and get rid of
00:57:32the bad apples and you're going to do well. That's my opinion. All right, guys, it is time for the
00:57:39giveaway. All you have to do, um, is go on to analystbuilder.com. I'm going to do it myself.
00:57:48I can't show it on my screen because I have a bunch of stuff that could accidentally pop up.
00:57:52It's all like business stuff and I just can't have that. So go on to analystbuilder.com. By the
00:57:57way, we have a week free offer just in the description. I don't know if you want to try
00:58:01out the platform and you can take a whole course in a week. Get it for free. You're going to
00:58:06go over
00:58:06to pricing and go to courses. These are all my courses. I've created all of them except for one,
00:58:13which I got Ben Rogogin to make one on, uh, data pipelines because he knows that better than I do.
00:58:20Then you're going to say, Hmm, which course do I want? Modern data workflows with Databricks.
00:58:25I want to learn Databricks. Click on buy. Don't buy it. I am not here to sell you anything today.
00:58:30I promise you. In fact, I try not to sell much. I'm not, I'm not big on selling stuff a
00:58:35lot,
00:58:35but if you want to, you can, I'm not going to stop you. Now you're at this pay, this checkout
00:58:41window.
00:58:42It says pay whatever. Click on add promotion code. I'm about to give you a code and you're
00:58:50about to enter that code. The price is going to go down to zero. You're going to click pay.
00:58:56You will pay $0 for this course. Not everyone's going to win it. I'm just warning you first come
00:59:02first serve. If you, uh, if you don't win it, I'm sorry. I can't control that. All right.
00:59:13I'm going to start creating these, uh, I'm creating a new coupon. Give me a sec.
00:59:25Call this one a live stream coupon. That's not the code. I'm just giving people time for just a
00:59:30second to make sure you're in. Uh, we're going to do a hundred percent off.
00:59:36And, uh, let me put in, oh geez, I should have done this before. This is on me guys.
00:59:41I'm the one under prepared here, but hopefully you guys are willing to wait for just a second.
00:59:46It won't take long. Um, but I'm just marking what, um, horses be 100% off. It'll take just a
00:59:56second.
00:59:57Ooh, I have that Git and GitHub course. That's a great course. If you don't know Git and GitHub,
01:00:02recommend it. I have lots of stuff on YouTube. I have like a series on YouTube about it.
01:00:07Um, I'm almost done. And then I'll give you the code. Planning a data job, automating,
01:00:14advanced Excel for automation. Let me see what, I think there's like one or two more.
01:00:19Do Microsoft Power BI and Oh,
01:00:24Pablo. And I have one more. That's the cloud computing. All right. All right. Here we go.
01:00:31So I'm going to give you the code. The first person to type it in gets it. That's just how
01:00:38it works.
01:00:39All right. Let's do, um, this is a tough one. This is a tough one. I'm going to make it,
01:00:45this one is going to be for two people. Two people will be able to redeem this code.
01:00:49So you have a good shot. It's not just one. The code is LLAMA, all caps. Uh,
01:00:56and it's LLAMA because I thought it'd be funny because it's kind of hard to spell.
01:01:00You don't know it. It's not phonetically, uh, it doesn't phonetically make sense.
01:01:05So spell LLAMA, all caps. That's the code. Now, let me create the next one.
01:01:18This is all one word, all one word. And I'm going to give this out to three people.
01:01:24So this will be five total, two from the last code, three from this one. Um,
01:01:29this code is in all caps, all connected, no spaces. Love you so much. That's just how I'm feeling about
01:01:37you personally. Oh, that LLAMA one's gone. By the way, if you do get it, you will know because you
01:01:44can go
01:01:44to your, um, what's the page, your dashboard. Let me go. Look, you can go to your dashboard or
01:01:52actually no, no, no, no, no, no. Go to your purchases. Click on your profile, go to your
01:01:56purchases. It will show in your purchases tab that you redeemed it for free. And then you know
01:02:01you have it. So just go to your purchases, um, in your, on your right hand side. It may also
01:02:08show
01:02:08in your dashboard too, but I'm just saying, um, uh, that would be a foolproof way to know
01:02:13that you got it because maybe you got it. It went to zero, but then when you went to click
01:02:17pay, it said ain't code doesn't work. That means somebody got it before you. I don't make
01:02:22the rules. Uh, let's go see if love you so much. I'm pretty sure someone's got that one
01:02:27now. Let me refresh this. Let me refresh this. Somebody get them. They're gone. All right.
01:02:42If you got it, let me know what course you got. That's all I really want to know is what
01:02:46course did you redeem? Cause I'm always curious. Um, I'm always curious as to what people are
01:02:52choosing. Let me go back to the chat real quick. I have five more to give away, by the way,
01:02:57five more to give away. Don't put Lama in the chat. You weren't paying attention. Don't put
01:03:03love you so much in the chat. You weren't paying attention. You have to be on analystbuilder.com
01:03:07at the checkout for your course under the pricing page, click on a course, and then you enter the
01:03:13code. Some people are listening. Some people are listening. Some people aren't. If you already
01:03:18want a course, don't, don't try to get any more. All right. Share the love. Let other people
01:03:24get them. Um, share the love. All right. Anybody get them? I'm looking to see if anybody got them.
01:03:38All right. Um, let's give out our next code and this one's going to be the one for everyone
01:03:45to get. I'm going to give this is our last code, but it's going to five people will be able
01:03:50to get
01:03:50it. We'll be giving out 10 total. There was two before then three, now five. That's 10 total.
01:04:00Oops. Thought it wrong.
01:04:05All right. This is our last code and the code is friendship. The code is friendship.
01:04:15I hope that you get one of these courses. I really do. If you got it, enter the code. It'll
01:04:22go to zero and click pay now so that you can redeem that first. Um, yeah, don't type the code
01:04:29in the
01:04:29chat. You have to, it's a code for analystbuilder.com to get a free course. Um, now listen, let me,
01:04:36let me, let me check, make sure they're all gone. I'm pretty sure they're going to be gone now.
01:04:40People get them quick. People get them fast. They get them like the second they hear it,
01:04:45they're typing it. They're getting, that's gone. They're gone. If you got it, please let me know
01:04:50which one you got. Don't type friendship in the chat. You weren't paying attention.
01:04:56All right. If you got a course, uh, tell me what course you got. I'm super happy that you got
01:05:01it.
01:05:01If you didn't get a course, you can still get a free course. Go down below. You can get one
01:05:07week
01:05:07for free right there in the chat and boom, you get a week free, take a course in a week.
01:05:13You can do it.
01:05:14You got time. I know you can do it. If you already have an account and you're not a new
01:05:19member,
01:05:19you can also get 35% off any purchase with 35% off or 35 off. That's the code. Um,
01:05:26I am not genuinely,
01:05:27I'm, it's not gonna hurt my feelings if nobody buys anything cause I'm not a salesman. Um, oh,
01:05:32he got the soft skills for data professionals course. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I actually,
01:05:37that is my only non-techno course on the platform. It is so useful. And I, I watched the whole
01:05:46thing
01:05:46back after editing and everything. I'm like, this is like really, really important things to know.
01:05:51And so, um, pretty great. No, you can't trade the course you won. Tommy, just choose the right
01:05:58course next time, my guy. Come on. All right. Uh, if you, yeah, if you buy lifetime access to
01:06:06analyst builder, you'll get all my future courses for free. All of them. There were people by the
01:06:12way, who bought lifetime access to analyst builder back in 2023 when we launched for $250 and they are
01:06:20still getting my courses for free today. And I have people messaging me saying it was the best price
01:06:24purchase they've ever made. And I'm like, good. I hope you keep getting my free courses. Keep
01:06:28taking them. Keep learning. Um, I, there are competitors genuinely to me who will charge like
01:06:35a thousand, $1,500 for a similar service. I purposely charge a lot less because even though, yes,
01:06:42I do make money, I could upcharge a ton. I just choose not to cause I want to make it
01:06:47the most
01:06:47affordable platform for data professionals that out there and one of the best platforms
01:06:52as well. So we're charging less and we're trying to have the best quality or, you know,
01:06:57come competing with some of the biggest ones out there. And I hope you guys, uh, if you
01:07:02haven't tried it out, try it out. People are just asking. So I'm talking about it, but usually
01:07:06I don't talk about it too much, but, um, yeah, there you go. No, no soy tan salmon. I don't
01:07:14know
01:07:14with that guy. Weird. No soy tan salmon. I've been using it since day one. Remember since day
01:07:22one, that name, that name caught me off guard. All right. Glenn Bradford Jr. Thank you, Alex. I
01:07:29got the Microsoft Power BI for business intelligence course. Congrats. Take it. Let me know what you
01:07:34think. That's a great course. Um, honestly, I can't, there's no bad courses on there. Just depends
01:07:39on what you want to learn. Uh, yeah, but awesome. All right. Time is up. It's 1106. My voice
01:07:48is shot. I know you can't tell. Databricks it is. Yes. Databricks is a great, great tool
01:07:54and great course. It's not a super beginner course. I would more put that like intermediate
01:07:58level. So if you know, if you don't know SQL and Python yet, I would recommend learning
01:08:04that a little bit because I dive into, you know, a lot of kind of a little higher level
01:08:10stuff within Databricks. It's not super like, here's how to use SQL within Databricks. It's
01:08:17more like, Hey, here's how you use SQL and Databricks. You already know how to do that.
01:08:21Here's how we actually implement the code. Here's how we connect things here, how we connect different
01:08:25data sources. Here's how we automate things. Here's how we, you know, process PDFs into raw text.
01:08:30It's more advanced. It's more advanced. If I buy the course, you'll get it forever.
01:08:37You'll get it forever. Look, I'm not stingy. I am not. I'm just, I'm me in a small team.
01:08:43I don't plan on like getting like, you know how when, uh, when, uh, VCs and private investors
01:08:51get into things and they want you to optimize for pricing and like make, make more, make more,
01:08:54make more. That's not me. So if you buy it, you're going to get it forever.
01:09:00And, um, if you use that 35% off with our, uh, subscription monthly or yearly subscription,
01:09:08you're going to pay like 20 bucks a month and you can take all those courses in like two,
01:09:12three, it depends on how much time you have. It might take four months. In four months,
01:09:17you can say 80 bucks for some of the best courses in data analytics. Like genuinely. Um, I try to
01:09:23make
01:09:23it as affordable as I possibly can. I'm not out here to become a billionaire. Uh, like some of these
01:09:28other companies, I'm just here to really help people out and I do make money from it, but I keep
01:09:33my prices intentionally low. I hope that the 35% off or the week for free, or if you got
01:09:38a code,
01:09:39I try to give back as much as I can. So I hope, um, I really do hope that helps.
01:09:44Thank you guys for
01:09:45coming to the live stream. I'll be doing the same thing again next month. Um, I thought the questions
01:09:50were really good today. A lot of really good questions. I don't know if my answers were any good.
01:09:54Um, but the questions were good. So I appreciate you guys coming out. Uh, stay tuned. I have a lot
01:10:00of upcoming content on YouTube coming up. Um, I recently switched over to a Mac.
01:10:10Switched over to a Mac, a Mac. I'm a Mac man. I'm not a Microsoft man. I'm a Mac man.
01:10:17And, uh,
01:10:18uh, I've been liking it. I've been liking it. I'm going to make some content on it. Um,
01:10:25I made one video like a week ago. It's going to go up, I don't know, in like a few
01:10:30weeks. Um,
01:10:32on switching from Microsoft to Mac and the biggest things that I've seen. But I'm also going to talk
01:10:36about, you know, I have a newfound perspective on Macs here. Um, and so now it might, all right,
01:10:43listen, here, here's, ah, here's my old machine. This bad boy. This is a HP Omen is a gaming laptop.
01:10:55I bought it specifically because I needed some graphics done for editing. I also needed it for
01:11:01processing stuff. This thing is so loud. It's like a jet engine. And I would be trying to record
01:11:07and it's super loud. And things were, then I have an external monitor over here and it starts getting
01:11:11laggy. This is a stinking brand new laptop. It's like $1,500. And it's like just terrible. I've
01:11:18also had surface laptops. I've had Lenovo's every Microsoft. I've had a yoga laptop. I've had so
01:11:23many different Microsoft machines and they all let me down. And I have such high hopes for my Mac.
01:11:29I have such high hopes. I hope it longterm, it stays how it is because it is performing performance
01:11:36wise, performing so much better than my, uh, my Microsoft laptops. It's not even funny,
01:11:43but this was my daily driver. I mean, it's really dirty. This was my daily driver for like,
01:11:51well, okay. Let me rephrase this. I bought an HP Omen back in 2021. I had that for three years.
01:11:59It broke down. Some of the keyboards stopped working. Uh, one of the keyboard key things fell
01:12:05off. Some of my ports stopped working. And so I gave it to my wife. Uh, I did. I did.
01:12:10She,
01:12:10that's what she uses now. Then I have this one and I just stopped using it. Um, and I'm testing
01:12:18out
01:12:18this Mac. It's going really well. It's going really well. Someone offered me a laptop. Will I do a laptop
01:12:25giveaway? I don't know, man. This is an expensive laptop. I might sell it. Cause look, I'm not,
01:12:31I'm not like rich. I wouldn't consider myself laptop giveaway rich, uh, yet. Maybe one day I'll be
01:12:39there, but I'll probably just sell it on like eBay or something and, uh, get a new piece of equipment
01:12:45for the office because I am trying to upgrade things. I know my camera right here for the live
01:12:50stream. Isn't like the most clear is interesting, but I brought a new camera. My actual videos for
01:12:57YouTube, they're very clear. I love the quality. Um, but for the live stream, I don't know why it's
01:13:02not like as clear as I thought it would be. Um, but I bought that. I got a stand for
01:13:08my laptop. So I'm
01:13:09not looking down. My neck was starting to hurt. Uh, what else? Uh, I got this light over here.
01:13:18Oh, you can't see it, but there's a lamp over here. I'm buying little things from my office to
01:13:22make it more permanent and nicer and good, better quality. Um, all that being said, I don't know if
01:13:29I got that, that laptop giveaway money. I got to be a bigger YouTuber for that. YouTube ain't paying
01:13:34me much. All right. Trust me on that. Ain't the, ain't the cash cow it used to be. I'm, I'm
01:13:40talking
01:13:40back in like 2017, if you had like a million followers, you're making like 50 grand. They're out
01:13:46they're balling. They're just buying houses. I, I got a family of five and, um, YouTube don't pay
01:13:53data channels like they used to. So no, I don't know if I'll do that. Maybe. No, I might do
01:14:00some
01:14:00type of giveaway, but it's hard to do giveaways of physical stuff. Um, there's actually a lot of
01:14:05rules around it about giving away like stuff. You have to like do all this disclosures and you have
01:14:10to, I don't want to collect people's data on like their emails and addresses and stuff like that. And
01:14:14I don't know. It's a bigger thing. I don't know. I'm literally just rambling. I've been
01:14:19rambling for the last five minutes. I don't know why people are still here. There's 96 people just
01:14:24listening to me rant. Maybe the, maybe you guys, y'all are the real heroes. You guys are the real
01:14:33fans. Maybe, maybe this, this laptop, I'm going to buy it. Then you guys all, how much would I get
01:14:41for this? Say $960. I could send everyone, send everyone a dollar. That's some math right
01:14:49there. Everybody's getting a free dollar. Send me your Venmo. Don't put your Venmo in the
01:14:54chat. I'm totally messing. Oh, anyway. Anyways, now I'm just having fun. You guys ever use these
01:15:02by the way? Ever use that? The Listerine pack. I bought like a hundred pack of, well, that's
01:15:15not true. Each one of these has like 24 in them and I bought like two or three years worth.
01:15:22They're just sitting back there. There's like, I think I have like 10 or 15 packs and they're
01:15:28very spicy. Well, now I'm just watching myself. I feel like I'm just, I'm just doing random
01:15:35stuff. Hey, from Uzbekistan. Very cool. I didn't answer your question. I'm sorry. I tried to answer
01:15:42as many questions as I could. Make a video using agentic AI to make reports and analysis. Yeah,
01:15:49I might do that. I've done a little bit of that. I do a lot of it for work.
01:15:55He said, LOL, those are so old. Haven't seen those in a while. I hear you on that. I hear
01:16:02you on that. The reason I bought them, and this is embarrassing. I'm embarrassed. The reason
01:16:10I bought them was because I like kissing my wife. But after a day's work and like talking
01:16:20on camera and I brush my teeth in the morning, but after like four, six, eight hours of recording
01:16:25or working or doing whatever I'm doing, my breath isn't the freshest. And she was like,
01:16:30Alex, hey, listen, I love you. Not the freshest breath. So I bought these specifically for my
01:16:37wife. I'm going to go kiss her in just a little bit. All right. Time is it? 1115? Okay.
01:16:46Yeah. Well, you use them when you're a kid. I'm using them now. I'm trying to get that
01:16:50fresh breath. Anywho. Anything else I want to share? Anything else I want to share about
01:16:58my life? I bought a new microphone. This isn't new, new. I had one very similar, but it had
01:17:05a different connection port. It was getting wobbly and not reliable. And I had to retake videos
01:17:11because of it. This is the Shure MV7 Plus. Listen. Running these channels ain't cheap.
01:17:23Running these channels is not cheap. I'm just telling you right now.
01:17:30I do my best. I do my best. I don't buy a lot of things. I think just recently this
01:17:34year,
01:17:35I'm like, all right, I got to upgrade some stuff. I got to take it up a notch. I'm also
01:17:40learning a new
01:17:40editing software. I've been using Adobe Rush for the past like five years. It costs like 20 bucks a
01:17:47month. I just got DaVinci Resolve studio version. I paid for it. Crazy. But I can do like zoom-ins.
01:17:57I can put my head in a little bubble like the professionals do, like the cool guys.
01:18:02I can do a lot of things. Sorry, my wife was texting me.
01:18:10It was just not anything crazy important, but everything from my wife's important.
01:18:14She's listening. Everything's important. It's not something I have to respond to.
01:18:18You know what I mean? Anyways, what was I saying?
01:18:24I don't remember what I was saying. Where's part two of the Alex the Analyst song?
01:18:29I have been writing a new song, but it is not optimized for guitar, which I did in my previous.
01:18:41Like if you look up Truth About My Job song, I wrote that. I have it on YouTube.
01:18:48I wrote one, but it's not, it's more like, dare I say, almost like a rap, but I don't know
01:18:53if I could pull that off, guys. I don't know if I could pull off. Yes. Yes. I do have
01:19:00kiss mints
01:19:01and day-to-day mints. That's correct. That is a flex. That is probably one of my biggest flexes.
01:19:05I got, I got that mint money. I got that Listerine money, guys.
01:19:12That's what I got. What YouTube is paying for right here. That Listerine money.
01:19:17I was watching this, uh, this funny comedian, uh, on, uh, he was on Instagram. I can't remember
01:19:26what his name is, but he's super funny. And he was like, he was like a kid and he, he
01:19:32was pretending
01:19:32to be a kid. He went over to his friend's house and his, the friend's dad came up, came in
01:19:36and he
01:19:36was like, Hey, y'all want something to eat? And the friend, uh, the guy who lives, the kid who
01:19:41lives
01:19:41there, asked his friend, like, Hey, what do you want to eat? The guy's like, whatever you want,
01:19:47man. It was, you know, no big deal. He's like, peanut butter and jelly. And the kid's like, nah,
01:19:51let's go. Hey dad, let's get some McDonald's. And the dad's like, yeah, all right. And the friend
01:19:56who's the guest is like, I got that McDonald's money. And the kid, the guy was like, got that
01:20:03McDonald's money. That's what I feel like. I feel like I got that Listerine money. That's my flex.
01:20:09Flex. That is my flex. Oh, I was talking about a song. Uh, yeah, I have written out most of
01:20:17a new song. I don't know how I want to perform it yet though. I just don't know if I'm
01:20:22good
01:20:22enough or confident enough to make like a rap. I really don't. I don't think I could pull
01:20:27it off. It'd be really funny though. It'd be really funny. And you all 84 people who are
01:20:33still here just listening. I'm just rambling at some point. I actually got to stop because
01:20:36I do have work to do. Um, you guys are going to be like, all right, I knew it was
01:20:42coming.
01:20:43I knew it was coming.
01:20:47The nineties kid, he gets it or he or she. I'm a nineties. I'm a nineties kid. All right.
01:20:56I didn't grow up with much. Listerine packets. Those are, I never had this as a kid. Too expensive.
01:21:03Too expensive. All right, guys. Uh, I actually do have to run this minty fresh breath doesn't
01:21:08last forever. I got to go kiss my wife while I can. Um, I will see you guys next month.
01:21:13I'll do
01:21:13another live stream. Um, if you have any questions, hit me up on LinkedIn. I always, if you, if you
01:21:18do
01:21:18hit me up on LinkedIn, actually send me a message. Don't just connect with me. Cause I have like 30
01:21:22,000
01:21:23connections that I don't, can't connect with. Um, I only have 30,000 connections that I can do.
01:21:28I'm almost at my peak. Some people, you know, drop off over time and I can get new ones.
01:21:32The only ones that I accept are ones that people sent me a message or if I like actually know
01:21:37who
01:21:37they are. So send me a message. Um, and just let me know, you know, say, Hey, I watch your
01:21:44channel.
01:21:44Want to connect. That's all you gotta say. I'll connect, but hit me up on, uh, I I'm on LinkedIn.
01:21:50Um, I'm on X or Twitter a lot. I don't go on Instagram too much. Um, and then I'm on,
01:21:58YouTube. I don't know where else to, that's LinkedIn is the best one though. I'm being
01:22:02honest. LinkedIn is the best one. I got selected as a big data consultant. I'm talking about
01:22:07maybe you're the guy from earlier, but if not, Hey, congrats. Congrats. All right, guys,
01:22:11make it easy. I'll see you in the next live stream.
