Madisha’s morning couldn’t get any worse: a rootless Gen Z already struggling to find her purpose in life, she’s just learned that her housemate is ditching her and is still reeling from having lost her most recent job under cloudy circumstances. So when she gets a call advising her of fraudulent activity on her bank account and urgently requesting that she withdraw all of her money in cash, Madisha is sent on a panicked odyssey through the Melbourne CBD – a pursuit that leads her to ominous alleyways, busy street corners, an alcohol-soaked house party and, perhaps, the fledgling desire to take charge of her own life.

00:03What was the reason for the termination of your employment?
00:06Um, I was let go.
00:08Due to illness or injury?
00:10Neither, I was let go.
00:12I can't believe they didn't give you a proper reason.
00:13I don't know, the place really went down until after you left.
00:16So your ATO account isn't lent?
00:19It's not?
00:19There is something. I had this really weird phone call.
00:27Hello?
00:27Hi, my name is Clarissa Stanley. I'm calling from the Australian Taxation Office in regards to an urgent matter with
00:32your ATO account.
00:33Yeah, that's definitely not me. I don't have large sums of money.
00:36If it's not resolved today, you may be formally linked to a case.
00:39Your accounts could be frozen and your finances lost completely.
00:43Look, I can't. I'm running late to something. Can I call you back later?
00:49I was wondering if you guys were hiring at the moment.
00:51I'm interested in anything, any sort of position, if you've got it.
00:54Could these people have access to my personal information and information about my previous employment and stuff like that?
01:00I'm gonna walk you through a classified process.
01:02I need to enjoy everything you have in cash right now.
01:05Cash?
01:07Now?
01:09It's more like, like, like, like a night, nightmare.
01:13Like one of those ones, you know, like where you're running and you're running.
01:16You're running and you're running and you're running and you're not getting anywhere.
01:19You're just stuck running endlessly.
01:21I'd like to withdraw everything from my savings account.
01:23I don't even understand what I'm doing here right now.
01:26Cash in your bag, you better be doing something smart with that.
01:28What do you think I'm not?
01:30You strike me as someone who needs to be told what to do.
01:36It was peacefully just wandering along and then suddenly it looked at me.
01:40You shoot me as someone who needs toöß a walk away from back and forth.
01:42Never- -"Background?"
01:59There's no двух weeks before I was talking about them, and I was really thankful for them.
