00:00Tech giant Apple has filed a federal lawsuit against OpenAI accusing the artificial intelligence
00:05firm of orchestrating a coordinated campaign to steal its trace secrets as it attempts
00:10to build its own consumer hardware.
00:13According to the complaint filed in California, Apple uncovered a systematic pattern of intellectual
00:18property theft by former high-level employees, who later joined the Sam Altman-led firm.
00:23One former senior electrical engineer is accused of exploiting an authentication bug to secretly
00:29download dozens of confidential hardware files, including technical specifications for unreleased
00:34products and engineering presentations.
00:37The lawsuit also accuses OpenAI's chief hardware officer Tang Yu Tan of illegally harvesting supplier
00:43data and instructing Apple candidates to bring actual Apple parts to interviews for show-and-tell
00:49sessions.
00:51In response to these allegations, a spokesperson said OpenAI has no interest in other companies'
00:56trade secrets, maintaining that it remains focused on building its own innovative technology.
