First-time voter Wong Wee Xiang, who has been blind since birth, cast his ballot for the Johor election with the assistance of his mother at SJK (C) Tuan Poon in Simpang Renggam on Saturday (July 11).

The election turned out to be a family affair for Woh Chooi Lai and her daughters Chong Siew Teng and Chong Kah Man who cast their ballots together at SK Taman Daya 3 in the Puteri Wangsa constituency.

00:14The 20-year-old from Simpang Rengam arrived at the polling centre at about 9.15am. He then
00:21checked his polling stream and was later accompanied by his mother to cast his vote.
00:27He said he had been looking forward to polling day and he was excited to vote for the first
00:32time. He said he had told his mother which candidate he wanted to vote for and she marked
00:38the ballot paper on his behalf. He described the voting process as smooth and added that
00:44he was happy to have fulfilled his responsibility as a voter.
