00:00Yeah. On the Dion Colorado wave, what did you think about their quarterback coming out and basically saying they're going
00:06out there, not watching any film, kind of just playing high school level football?
00:10Because that I'll be honest, Bill, that really pissed me off to a certain extent.
00:14But what do you think about that whole situation?
00:16Well, I mean, obviously, that's as they say in dodgeball, that's a bold strategy.
00:22You know, it's not I think you obviously need to do the prep and the work and the film.
00:26And this is a big year for Colorado because they are two years removed from Shador and Travis Hunter, which,
00:33you know, on one hand, it was remarkable that they won nine games that season.
00:37But on the other, you saw that it went the other way pretty quickly and it's easy to jump off
00:43bandwagons in sports.
00:44And this was a case where we did that. So I do think it's a big year for Colorado on
00:48the field scheme wise.
00:49And that's always been the question with, you know, what what are they doing there on the field?
00:55And, you know, Shador and Travis were good enough to they probably could play that way.
01:00And I'm not saying they were, but they they were very good college football players.
01:05So it is an interesting year for the Buffaloes. They can get back.
01:09They could be a sleeper in that league. There's a lot of parity in the Big 12.
01:14So, you know, the difference between Houston is one of the top or BYU versus some of those schools at
01:20the bottom,
01:21like Oklahoma State could have a good year with Eric Morris in year one.
01:24So that's what makes that conference really entertaining.
01:28You mentioned two years ago, two years removed from nine and three last year, three and nine.
01:33You know, again, not not great.
01:36Dion, all the health problems. Do you think this is the last year we see Dion Sanders coaching in Colorado?
01:42Well, I would say one to two years. And again, you can't predict health.
01:46Last year, obviously, coming off the surgeries and the things that he was going through versus this year.
01:54Like I said, you saw a more vibrant Dion Sanders on the on the podium this year.
01:59He was joking around. He sounded more like the Dion that we're used to on the podium having fun.
02:04And, you know, he's always been sure of himself. And I think as long as he wants to coach, he
02:09will.
02:09But I would guess anywhere between one to three years, which is a lot of critics thought he was going
02:16to leave when Shador left and I or Shiloh and Shador.
02:20And so I think it's been good that he's stuck with it.
02:24I do think he enjoys coaching football.
02:26Well, he's made a positive impact on a lot of players that people can question his methods all they want.
02:32But I think behind the flash, I've always said this, even as the player with Dion, who as a Packers
02:37fan, I couldn't stand because he was always picking off passes for the Cowboys.
02:41But that's out of a respect way.
02:45He behind the flash and the prime persona, there's an old school football player and there's an old school coach
02:52in there.
02:52And I've seen that over the years time and time again.
02:55Yeah, and people forget that part.
02:57Just, yeah, like, of course, he's flashy.
02:59But that, like you said, is all a persona.
03:01He's still a football player at heart.
03:03And the fact that he's made Colorado relevant again, I mean, they haven't really been talked about since their national
03:09championship back in 1990.
03:11So just the fact that they're getting talked about, that's huge for the Buffalo.
03:14So I am glad that he's been able to do what he's done down over there.
