00:32it as a historic milestone in Malaysia-Thailand relations that would boost trade, investment and economic cooperation.
00:40And today, another historical venture. And in this state, particularly in the north of Peninsular Malaysia, we have to grapple
00:52with attempts to prepare economic growth for the welfare of our people.
00:58And I believe a similar position in the south. And through this new venture project, we should be able to
01:10use it as a base to propel the economy of both regions.
01:15Anwar said the project is part of wider plans to establish a special economic border zone spanning northern Malaysia and
01:22southern Thailand to spur growth and improve livelihoods.
01:26Now, we are in our discussions yesterday. We are extending beyond normal diplomatic engagements to having the resolve to try
01:39and create special economic border economic zone.
01:47We cover north here of Malaysia and south Thailand to prepare economic growth.
01:54It's not something that can be done fast and easily, but I think with the resolve of the leadership in
02:05Thailand and Malaysia, inshallah, God willing, we can spearhead this new development for Perles, Kedah, Kelantan, Perak and Penang, of

02:16He added that both governments had agreed to expedite the resolution of customs, immigration, fisheries and trade issues to facilitate
02:24cross-border business.
02:26We have agreed to try and resolve it in the fastest manner possible because it would mean better lives, better
02:38livelihood for our traders and business community.
02:41Anwar also reaffirmed Malaysia and Thailand's commitment to achieving US$30 billion in bilateral trade by 2027, saying closer border
02:51cooperation would help achieve the target.
