00:05PREPARATION AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART
00:08After a long reign, David is at the end of his life. There is much that he would have liked
00:14to
00:14accomplish, but the Lord had prepared that work for his son. In the end, David wasn't concerned
00:21with making it about himself. He was concerned with preparing his son for what is next.
00:27David spoke words of encouragement, offered prayers, and provided Solomon with many of the
00:32tools he would need to begin constructing the house of the Lord. Before Solomon had put on a
00:38crown or sat on a throne, he was prepared because his father ensured it. As believers, we should
00:45always be preparing those around us to succeed in the kingdom of God. David did not want to see his
00:51son fail as king. Do you want to see your brother or sister in Christ succeed? There are people you
00:59spend time with every day who need encouragement to keep the faith. They need tools to stay faithful.
01:05You, as a believer, can provide those tools and help them stay prepared. Make it your goal today
01:12to prepare someone for the kingdom. Apply. How does this text apply to you? How can you use what you've
01:20learned? What do you need to change about your heart? How can the text help you share the
01:25gospel? P.R.A.Y. Praise God for something he taught you during your reading today. Repent
01:32to God about any sin that is in your life. Ask him for whatever you may need. Yield and give
01:39him control of all things.
