00:02Thank you very much. We've had some great meetings. We had dinner last night with President Erdogan, and I think
00:11it was really, I would rate it a 10, maybe a 12.
00:14I think it was 4,000.
00:16Everything is beautiful. We've had some very good meetings, in particular with Turkey and trade, and now we're meeting with
00:23everybody today, as you know.
00:25We have a very big meeting with lots of leaders. I think every country, right? Every country showed up.
00:30They're all there.
00:31Plus, we have a couple that aren't in there that would like to be in there.
00:35But it's been very successful. It's been a fantastic meeting.
00:39So I'll be having a news conference. They have to have finished it at about 4.30, 5 o'clock,
00:44and I assume most of you will attend.
00:48But a lot of things have been determined, and some things haven't, frankly.
00:51We attacked very powerfully last night the very dangerous people from Iran. They're sick. There's something wrong with them.
01:05We said, go and do your funeral stuff, and instead of that, they started shooting rockets at ships yesterday.
01:14And so we hit them very hard last night, very hard. I would say 20 to 1, 20 times tougher.
01:21They call them every time you hit. We hit.
01:24And, of course, they're dirty players, so they go after everyone, probably including me.
01:29I've been number one on their list for years, and they're a bunch of scum.
01:33You want to know that they're scum. And so we don't like them. I don't like them.
01:40And they're evil people, and it's the denuclearization of Iran.
01:45And we're going to denuke it. We're not going to let them because they're crazy, and they can't have a
01:51nuclear weapon.
01:52And they go around killing people. They've killed thousands and thousands of our soldiers.
01:57They've killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people.
02:00They had the roadside bomb, Soleimani. I took care of him first term.
02:06And that was a big thing, because I think it would probably be a lot stronger had he been around,
02:10because he was a bad guy, but he was an evil genius.
02:15But a bad guy, and he was the father of the roadside bomb.
02:19The roadside bomb is a bomb that goes on when you're driving your little vehicle around,
02:23and it goes on, and you have no legs, no arms, and no face.
02:27And they've killed thousands and thousands of people.
02:30Even the SS Cole was theirs. You remember that disaster.
02:36So I don't like them at all.
02:40And frankly, I think we waste a lot of time with them.
02:44I think we should just do our business.
02:47Can you imagine? They start shooting bombs.
02:50Actually, missiles at ships yesterday.
02:53Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, a couple of others.
03:00And I don't think they know what the hell they're doing.
03:03But they're bad people. Very bad people.
03:04I think they're incompetent, by the way.
03:08Because if they were incompetent, they would have made a deal a long time ago.
03:10Like, how about 47 years ago?
03:13So they've been troubled for 47 years.
03:16And they're...
03:17We took out their first set of leaders.
03:19We took out their second set of leaders.
03:22They want to take out the U.S. leader, me.
03:25I'm on every list.
03:26I saw things this morning.
03:28I'm on every single one of their lists.
03:31And so far, I guess I've been a little bit lucky.
03:33But, yep, maybe it doesn't last very long.
03:37Because that's the way it goes.
03:38We have great people.
03:40But these are evil, sick people.
03:42And we have to rid their cancer.
03:44Their cancer.
03:45And you know what you do?
03:45You've got to cut out cancer early.
03:48Man, that's the way I feel.
03:50And I want to thank Mark.
03:52He's been a great Secretary General of NATO.
03:55I'm not happy with NATO because of what they did with Greenland.
03:58And I'm not happy with NATO because of the fact that they didn't want to help us with the number
04:03one state sponsor of terror.
04:05That's Iran.
04:06They were unwilling to help us.
04:08Now, in all fairness, I didn't speak to Mark about it.
04:10I think if I did, it might have been different.
04:11But we didn't need help.
04:13But I was really testing.
04:15I wanted to see whether or not they'd be there.
04:16And the answer is, I spoke to Germany.
04:18I spoke to France.
04:19I spoke to UK.
04:23I spoke to Italy.
04:24I spoke to – I didn't speak to Spain.
04:26Spain is a wasted cause.
04:28We don't want to do any trade business with Spain anymore, by the way.
04:31I'd like you to cut it out.
04:32Spain is a terrible partner in NATO.
04:37They don't participate.
04:38They don't pay.
04:40I don't want anything to do with Spain.
04:42Cut off all trade with Spain, please.
04:46Including visits.
04:47Okay?
04:47We don't want anything to do.
04:48I mean, watch them come running back.
04:51Oh, they'll come running back.
04:52They treat this man terribly.
04:55And this man's a good man, too.
04:56Great man.
04:58They're lucky to have him.
04:59But Spain doesn't agree to anything.
05:02And you shouldn't carry him.
05:04I mean, you sort of automatically carry him.
05:05Because you're protecting an area.
05:07So they're there.
05:08So they probably figured they have to protect us, right?
05:11But we don't have to.
05:12We don't have to trade with them.
05:13I don't want to do any more trade with them.
05:15All right?
05:15Take it immediately.
05:17Don't even talk to them.
05:18They're hopeless.
05:20Bad people.
05:20Because, you know, they have everybody else going and paying and working in Spain.
05:26In particular Spain.
05:27There are a couple of others.
05:28But in particular Spain.
05:29They're open about it.
05:31They're hostile about it.
05:33And let's see how hostile they remain when they call up.
05:36And they, please, please, we want to trade with you, sir.
05:39We want to trade with you, sir.
05:41They make so much money with us.
05:43And we're going to see that they make a lot less.
05:45I want no business with them.
05:50So other than that, we're having the big meeting in a little while.
05:53And I'm going to relate my problems.
05:56Greenland is a big problem for us.
05:58And the other big problem is the fact that when we wanted them, we didn't want them badly.
06:04But we did say, if you want to join us.
06:05And they all said no.
06:07But when they could have, they weren't there for us.
06:10And we've been there for them.
06:11We spent over a trillion dollars over the last short period.
06:14Trillion.
06:15In order to protect these countries from Russia.
06:19And has nothing to do with us.
06:21We have an ocean.
06:23But it's been a long-term thing.
06:24And they haven't treated us right.
06:25And Mark understands that.
06:28He understands that.
06:29And we're going to work something out, I think, one way or the other.
06:33But we've been treated unfairly.
06:35We paid disproportionately.
06:37We had a time when we were paying 100%.
06:39We were paying 100% of NATO.
06:41And yet a lot of the countries weren't paying anything.
06:44But there was calls made a few weeks ago.
06:48I spoke with the U.K.
06:50And the prime minister said, well, we don't want to help you now.
06:53But we'll help you when the war is over.
06:55I said, that's not good.
06:57And likewise, I spoke to Germany.
06:59They didn't want to help.
07:00Spoke to France.
07:01They didn't want to help.
07:02Nobody wanted to help.
07:03Some of the very small countries wanted to help because they're the most vulnerable.
07:07That's the only reason they wanted to help.
07:09So I appreciate you being here.
07:11We're going to be going back together, many of us together.
07:15And again, I want to say, despite the fact that I'm very upset with NATO, that we pay far, far
07:22too much, billions and billions of dollars too much, because it's unfair, because we're protecting them.
07:29And so we protect them, but they're not there for us.
07:32Think of it.
07:32It doesn't work.
07:33But I want to say, this is a great leader.
07:35They're lucky they have him.
07:37It's a very – it's their biggest asset.
07:40Do you want to know the truth?
07:42So, Mark, would you say a few words?
07:43Absolutely.
07:44And thank you so much, Mr. President, dear Donald.
07:46Let me start with – well, we discussed this last night at the presidential palace.
07:52I think what you did, degrading the nuclear capability, crucial for Israel, the region, for Europe,
08:00degrading the ballistic Nissan capability of Iran, crucial for Israel, for the region, for you, for the whole world.
08:06And then trying to bring this to a peaceful end.
08:09They attacking ships yesterday.
08:11I think what you did last night was absolutely necessary.
08:14It was a very strong response.
08:17And I'm with you on this.
08:19It's really important.
08:21When it comes to NATO, what you have achieved – and this is a huge win, and I just want
08:28to say this again –
08:29the last two years, Canada and European NATO nations spending $215 billion more in 2024 and 2025 and 2026 compared
08:39to 2024.
08:40This is staggering – $258 billion.
08:43In the meantime, almost 200,000 jobs in the U.S. being supported by all the investments by countries in
08:51the United States in a defense industrial base, buying from a defense industrial base from the U.S. company.
08:56So here you see there is a – you have been able to really get them to step up, to
09:00do this.
09:00And when it comes to Iran, I know you are disappointed.
09:04We discussed it a couple of weeks ago.
09:06I would say these are isolated cases.
09:085,000 planes taking off from European airports in support of Epic-Fui.
09:14It was worked as one big platform of power protection for the United States, helping with Epic-Fui, including countries
09:23you mentioned, Germany from day one, France, and many others.
09:27We discussed the Bucharest airport, which was closed for a couple of days for commercial traffic because they – you
09:33needed it for Epic-Fui.
09:34And they were too fine.
09:35The United Kingdom wouldn't let us use the island for two weeks, so we had to fly back.
09:38No, no, I'm saying you're right.
09:40And Italy was very bad having to do with their bases, as you know, and a couple of others.
09:45So it didn't come to be comfortable.
09:46But still, generally, 5,000 is huge.
09:48And you mentioned Spain.
09:50Even you got Spain to pay 2%.
09:52They spent – they made a huge step in the last year.
09:55So there are still issues we have to solve.
09:57But, hey, also even on Spain, I would say they got to the 2%.
10:01And I know you have a very strong relationship with the United Kingdom.
10:03The king, but also you personally, always with Kier Starman, who is now leaving office.
10:09He has now also committed to spend another $20 billion extra, 15 billion pounds on defense.
10:14So I would argue without you in this chair, this would not have happened.
10:18It is, of course, because of Russia, but also because of you.
10:22So grab to win.
10:23It's there.
10:24You did this.
10:24It was The Hague, and now they're implemented.
10:26And on Greenland, you and I made a deal in Davos.
10:29I will make sure that that deal is step by step being implemented.
10:34That you can deploy, if you want, the golden dog on Greenland.
10:37You have your trilateral talks.
10:39Mark was leading them from your side with the Greenlanders and the Danes.
10:42And it comes to if they will change their constitutional position in the kingdom and so on.
10:46But, hey.
10:46I mean, just so they understand.
10:48Greenland is very important for the United States, but it's not important for Denmark.
10:51In fact, when Denmark was overrun by the Nazis in less than one day, Hitler beat them out
10:58in one day, took over.
11:00They asked us to take care of Greenland.
11:02In fact, we took Greenland, and then stupidly we gave it back.
11:06We shouldn't have given it back to them because we're the ones that need it.
11:09We need it for protection of the world, not just the United States.
11:13And it's very important.
11:14It doesn't help Denmark, but it helps us.
11:16And it's very important for us.
11:18And, again, they were defeated very quickly.
11:21Denmark was beaten in one day, less than one day, by the Nazis, by Hitler.
11:26And when this happened, they immediately switched it over to us.
11:30We owned it.
11:31We had it.
11:32We were taking care of it, and then we gave it back, which is, I don't know why.
11:35I wouldn't have given the Panama Canal back either.
11:38You know, so what do I know?
11:40I certainly wouldn't have done that because China's trying to take over the Panama Canal,
11:43and that's not going to happen.
11:46So, but I just, you know, it's interesting.
11:48I'm very unhappy with NATO, and yet this man is a great leader, and he gets it.
11:53He gets it.
11:54Gets it maybe better than some of the leaders.
11:56But also, did your allies get things to you?
11:58They're supporting.
11:59I could not do this without you.
12:00It's too bad Biden didn't do it, or Obama.
12:02Hey, but you were here now.
12:03Obama.
12:04And Trump 45, and Trump 47, in total, more than 1.2 trillion dollars.
12:09I call this the Trump trillion.
12:11No, it's true, but you know what?
12:111.2 trillion dollars, extra spent by Canada and the EU.
12:14And I'm not always blaming NATO.
12:16They're getting a, they got a free ride, and if Biden had any brain, which he didn't,
12:21he would have said, you got to pay more.
12:23And same with Obama.
12:26Two bad presidents.
12:27But they could have asked, and he would have done that too.
12:29It would have been, I mean, who knows?
12:31Who knows if they would have done that?
12:32It would have happened, and it is huge.
12:34It should have happened years ago, and it couldn't.
12:37But Obama didn't do it, and Biden didn't do it, and frankly, Bush didn't do it either.
12:41But you did what Eisenhower started trying to do, equalizing, equalizing, and all the other
12:46presidents, none of them were successful.
12:49You're the first one.
12:50It's your win.
12:51Your win in the end.
12:51That's why I like it.
12:52And the win now.
12:53That's why I like it.
12:54This is true.
12:55Without you, this would not have happened.
12:57Do you have any questions?
12:58Mr. President, on Iran, is the ceasefire over?
13:01Is the ceasefire done?
13:02Is the MOU dead?
13:05It's a very interesting question.
13:07To me, I think it's over.
13:10I don't want to deal with them anymore.
13:12They're scum.
13:13You know what scum is?
13:14They're scum.
13:15They're sick people.
13:16They're led by sick people.
13:18And they're vicious, violent people.
13:21And if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd use it.
13:24As far as I'm concerned, it's over.
13:25I'll speak to our negotiators.
13:27They want to negotiate.
13:28They're good people.
13:30Steve Woodcoff, Jared Kushner.
13:32But they have to come back to me.
13:34As far as I'm concerned, it's just a waste of time dealing with them.
13:37They're liars.
13:38We make a deal.
13:40And if I make a deal with him, we have a deal.
13:42And he goes out.
13:43He talks.
13:44We make a deal.
13:45Everyone's agreed.
13:46No nuclear weapon.
13:47We make a deal.
13:48They go outside, talk to the press.
13:50They say, we never even talked about it.
13:52There's something wrong with them.
13:53They're cuckoo.
13:55As far as I'm concerned, it's over.
13:58So are we back and forth?
13:59The talks won't resume after we get through the funeral proceedings.
14:03What?
14:04Does this mean that talks with Iran will not resume?
14:07I don't care.
14:07They can talk.
14:08But I think they're wasting their time.
14:10They're a bunch of lying guys.
14:11My whole life, that's all I do is deals.
14:14My whole life, that's how I became president, I guess.
14:16That's a deal, too, right?
14:17But I made a lot of money.
14:19I had a lot of great success.
14:22Tremendous success.
14:23Everything I did, I was successful.
14:24And I deal with these guys.
14:26And I said, this is from a different school.
14:28They're liars.
14:30They're cheats.
14:31They're sick people.
14:33They've hurt their people.
14:34They killed 54,000 people as of now that were protesting.
14:39You know, when people say, how come they haven't taken over?
14:41They can't take over because they're dead.
14:44They killed them.
14:45Nobody's going to take over.
14:46They have no guns.
14:46And the other side has machine guns.
14:49And they're killing them.
14:50The press doesn't report it.
14:52But they're bad people.
14:53They're bad people.
14:55And frankly, I don't want to waste my time with them.
14:59Now, I'll let our wonderful negotiators keep talking if they want.
15:04But I don't see it.
15:05I don't like these people.
15:07You know that?
15:08I like him.
15:08I like the leaders.
15:09I like, I think, all of these leaders.
15:11And they love him.
15:12I think they didn't treat the United States fairly for many years.
15:16But that's okay.
15:17But they're sane, rational, good people.
15:20Most of them.
15:21I don't like a couple of them, to be honest.
15:23Forget a couple.
15:24I don't like much.
15:25I like Erdogan.
15:27I'll tell you.
15:28I like President Erdogan.
15:29He rolled out the red carpet.
15:31He's terrific.
15:32You know, he could have gone into a lot of people saying,
15:34like with Bibi.
15:35I like Bibi.
15:36I think Bibi is a terrific wartime prime minister.
15:40But Bibi said rough things yesterday about Turkey.
15:43And Erdogan, and I said, you know, I spoke to him.
15:46I said, he could have gone into the war because he doesn't like Israel much.
15:50And he doesn't like Bibi much.
15:52And he didn't go because of me.
15:54And this is a military power.
15:57Millions of soldiers.
15:59Turkey is very strong.
16:00They have a lot of our best equipment.
16:02They're trying to get the F-35s.
16:04But he didn't go in.
16:06He wanted it.
16:06He would go in.
16:07If it weren't for me, he would have gone in.
16:10And he would have been on the other side.
16:12Even though I don't think he likes the other side either because he happens to be very sane
16:16and they happen to be very crazy.
16:18But so I think, you know, they treated us right.
16:20I think China treated us right.
16:22I was with President Xi and I said, I hope you're not going to go into the war.
16:27We don't want that.
16:28You know, he gets 50% of his oil from the Strait of Hormuz and he gets more than 50%.
16:35And he never went into the war.
16:37He didn't supply him equipment.
16:39You know, he was great.
16:40Big fan of President Xi.
16:42A lot of people say, oh, why?
16:44You know, I watched a couple of people critical of the fact that TikTok, TikTok is so bad.
16:49It's so dangerous.
16:50It's so horrible.
16:51They're spreading all these rumors.
16:53And the numbers came out yesterday.
16:54You know who's number one on TikTok?
16:55I'm number one on TikTok.
16:58And all I talk about is how bad communism is, right?
17:01They say, oh, it's terrible.
17:03They're spreading.
17:03But I'm number one.
17:05I listen to Gordon Chang.
17:07I like Gordon Chang.
17:08But he's always like negative.
17:09Oh, China's so terrible.
17:10They're so terrible.
17:11And TikTok is so terrible.
17:13But I'm number one on TikTok.
17:15I had like four billion views or something like that.
17:19So I don't know.
17:20People have to get the priorities straight.
17:24We have had a really good day.
17:27We're going to have another good half a day.
17:30And then I'll see you later.
17:31We'll talk to you.
17:32Thank you very much.
