00:00There might be a reason you've not heard much about Crimson Desert's story.
00:03According to Steam Achievements, just over 20% of the PC players have even hit the halfway
00:08point of the game, aka unlocking the Protector of Pailoon achievement, which marks the completion
00:12of Chapter 7, or around halfway through the game's plot.
00:15The story seems to be the same over on PlayStation, as PSN Profile says that only around 20% of
00:21players on PS5 have hit the same milestone.
00:23Crimson Desert is absolutely massive, with so much to discover and do that it's not
00:27really a surprise that not many players have touched the core storyline.
00:30It's also not entirely a stretch to say the story seems to be one of the weaker parts of
00:35the game.
00:35Even Pearl Abyss Studios CEO Hio Jin Young admitted the story could have done with some work,
00:40and Cliff MoCab actor Trevor McEwen said,
00:43I think what it lacks in narrative, it more than makes up for in other aspects.
00:47Personally, I don't really see a problem with this.
00:49A good open world can definitely sustain itself by just exploring and doing whatever.
00:53But what do you think?
