00:02So, other than that, we're having the big meeting in a little while, and I'm going to
00:07relate my problems.
00:09Greenland is a big problem for us.
00:11And the other big problem is the fact that when we wanted them, we didn't want them badly,
00:16but we did say, if you want to join us, and they all said no.
00:19But when they could have, they weren't there for us, and we've been there for them.
00:24We spent over a trillion dollars over the last short period, a trillion, in order to
00:29protect these countries from Russia.
00:32And it has nothing to do with us.
00:34We have an ocean, but it's been a long-term thing, and they haven't treated us right.
00:38And Mark understands that.
00:40He understands that.
00:42And we're going to work something out, I think, one way or the other.
00:46But we've been treated unfairly.
00:48We pay disproportionately.
00:49We had a time when we were paying 100 percent.
00:52We were paying 100 percent of NATO, and yet a lot of the countries weren't paying anything.
00:57But there was calls made a few weeks ago.
01:01I spoke with the UK, and the Prime Minister said, well, we don't want to help you now,
01:06but we'll help you when the war is over.
01:08I said, that's not good.
01:10And likewise, I spoke to Germany.
01:12They didn't want to help.
01:13Spoke to France.
01:14They didn't want to help.
01:14Nobody wanted to help.
01:16Some of the very small countries wanted to help because they're the most vulnerable.
01:20No, pardon me.
01:20That's the only reason they wanted to help.
01:22So I appreciate you being here.
01:24We're going to be going back together, many of us together.
01:27And again, I want to say, despite the fact that I'm very upset with NATO, that we pay far,
01:35far too much, billions and billions of dollars too much, because it's unfair, because we're
01:41protecting them.
01:42So we protect them, but they're not there for us.
01:44Think of it.
01:45It doesn't work.
01:46But I want to say, this is a great leader.
01:48They're lucky they have him.
01:50It's a very – it's the biggest asset, if you want to know the truth.
01:54So Mark, would you say a few words?
01:56Absolutely.
01:56Thank you so much, Mr. President, dear Donald.
01:59Let me start with – well, we discussed it last night at the presidential palace.
02:04I think what you did, degrading the nuclear capability – crucial for Israel, the region,
02:11for Europe – degrading the ballistic missile capability of Iran – crucial for Israel,
02:16for the region, for you, for the whole world.
02:19And then trying to bring this to a peaceful end.
02:22They attacking ships yesterday – I think what you did last night was absolutely necessary.
02:26It was a very strong response, and I'm with you on this.
02:32It's really important.
02:33When it comes to NATO, what you have achieved – and this is a huge win, and I just want
02:40to say this again – the last two years, Canada and European NATO nations spending $250 billion
02:47more in 2024 and 2025 and 2026 compared to 2024.
02:53This is staggering – 258 billion.
02:56In the meantime, almost 200,000 jobs in the U.S. being supported by all the investments by
03:03countries in the United States in a defense industrial base, buying from a defense industrial
03:06base from the U.S. companies.
03:08So here you see there is a – you have been able to really get them to step up, to
03:13do
03:13this.
03:13And when it comes to Iran, I know you are disappointed.
03:17We discussed it a couple of weeks ago.
03:19I would say these are isolated cases – 5,000 planes taking off from European airports in support
03:26of Epic Fury.
03:27It was – Europe as one big platform of power protection for the United States, helping with
03:34Epic Fury.
03:34Including countries you mentioned – Germany from day one, France, and many others.
03:40We discussed the Bucharest airport, which was closed for a couple of days for commercial
03:44traffic because they – you needed it for Epic Fury.
03:47And they were totally fine.
03:48Well, the United Kingdom wouldn't let us use the island for two weeks, so we had to
03:50fly back –
03:52And Italy was very bad having to do with their bases, as you know, and a couple of others.
03:57But still, generally, 5,000 is huge.
04:00And you mentioned Spain.
04:02Even you got Spain to pay 2%.
04:05They spent – they made a huge step in the last year.
04:08So there are still issues we have to solve.
04:09But hey, also even on Spain, I would say they got to the 2%.
04:13And I know you have a very strong relationship with the United Kingdom, the King, but also
04:18you personally always with Kier Starmer, who is now leaving office.
04:21He has now also committed to spend another $20 billion extra, £15 billion on defense.
04:27So I would argue, without you in this chair, this would not have happened.
04:31It is, of course, because of Russia, but also because of you.
04:34So, grab to win.
04:36It's there.
04:36You did this.
04:37It was the Hague, and now they are implemented.
04:39And on Greenland, you and I made a deal in Davos.
04:42I will make sure that that deal is step-by-step being implemented, that you can deploy, if you
04:48want, the Golden Dome on Greenland.
04:50You have your trilateral talks, Mark was leading them, from your side with the Greenlanders
04:54and the Danes, and it comes to if they will change their constitutional position in the
04:58Kingdom and so on.
04:59But hey…
04:59I mean, just so they say, Greenland is very important for the United States, but it's
05:02not important for Denmark.
05:04In fact, when Denmark was overrun by the Nazis in less than one day, Hitler beat them out
05:11in one day, took over, and they asked us to take care of Greenland.
05:15In fact, we took Greenland, and then stupidly we gave it back.
05:19We shouldn't have given it back to them, because we're the ones that need it.
05:22We need it for protection of the world, not just the United States, and it's very important.
05:27It doesn't help Denmark, but it helps us, and it's very important for us.
05:31And again, they were defeated very quickly.
05:34Denmark was beaten in one day, less than one day, by the Nazis, by Hitler.
05:39And when this happened, they immediately switched it over to us.
05:43We owned it.
05:43We had it.
05:44We were taking care of it, and then we gave it back, which is…
05:47I don't know why.
05:48I wouldn't have…
05:49I wouldn't have given the Panama Canal back, either.
05:51You know, so what do I know?
05:52I certainly wouldn't have done that, because China's trying to take over the Panama Canal,
05:56and that's not going to happen.
05:58So…
05:59But I just…
06:00You know, it's interesting.
06:01I'm very unhappy with NATO, and yet, this man is a great leader.
06:05And he gets it.
06:06He gets it.
06:06Gets it maybe better than some of the leaders.
06:09But also, did your allies get things to you?
06:11And that is important.
06:11I could not do this without you.
06:13It's too bad Biden didn't do it, or Obama.
06:15Hey, but you are here now.
06:16And Trump 45, and Trump 47.
06:19In total, more than $1.2 trillion.
06:22I call this the Trump trillion.
06:23No, it's true, but…
06:24On $2 trillion, extra spent by Canada and the…
06:27And I'm not always blaming NATO.
06:29They're getting a…
06:29They got a free ride, and if Biden had any brain, which he didn't, he would have said,
06:35you got to pay more.
06:36And same with Obama.
06:38Two bad presidents.
06:40But they could have asked, and he would have done that, too.
06:42It would have been…
06:43I mean, who knows?
06:44Who knows if they would have done that?
06:45And it is huge.
06:47It should have happened years ago, and it couldn't.
06:49But Obama didn't do it.
06:51And Biden didn't do it.
06:52And frankly, Bush didn't do it either.
06:54But you did what Eisenhower started trying to do.
06:56Equalizing.
06:57He tried.
06:58Eisenhower tried.
06:59And all the other presidents, none of them were successful.
07:01You're the first one.
07:02It's your win.
07:03Your win in the end.
07:04That's why I like it.
07:05And the win now.
07:06That's why I like it.
07:06This is true.
07:07Without you, this would not have happened.
07:09Yep.
