00:00U.S. President Donald Trump declares the interim peace deal signed with Iran to end the conflict is now over.
00:06He says he does not wish to engage with the Iranian leadership, describing them as sick people.
00:12His comments come after the U.S. carried out fresh strikes against Iran and revoked a license allowing Tehran to
00:18sell oil.
00:19Washington said the latest strikes were in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
00:26Iran's military responded by saying it had targeted U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles and drones.
00:33Trump accused Tehran of repeatedly misrepresenting the terms of the ceasefire agreement, which was signed on June 17.
00:41The interim deal was intended to provide a 60-day window for negotiations towards a permanent agreement.
00:47But indirect talks in Qatar last week ended without a breakthrough.
00:51Oil prices have surged as a result of the renewed hostilities.
00:55Global benchmark Brent crude rose more than 2% to above $75 a barrel, reversing weeks of declines that had
01:03returned to prices to pre-war levels.
