'It's an important part for the United States'

US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday, July 7, that the United States of America (USA) should take control of Greenland, saying the territory belongs under US authority rather than NATO ally Denmark, during his visit for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit.

Trump repeated claims of growing Russian and Chinese presence around the island, adding he would not allow Greenland to face threats. (Video Courtesy of US Network Pool I AP)

00:00That's my relationship with NATO, because Greenland doesn't help Denmark, Denmark doesn't spend money to really help Greenland, but it's
00:12an important part for the United States, and it's surrounded by China ships and Russian ships, and that's not going
00:19to happen, the ships, it's not going to happen.
00:22It was Greenland, and it continues to be, that should be controlled by the United States, not by Denmark, and
00:30when they wouldn't go along with it, and with all the money we spent to help them with Russia, and
00:36we don't have to spend any money, we could remove all of our soldiers out of Europe, because as you
00:41probably noticed, Europe's a very different place than it was 20 years ago.
00:46A lot different, much different, much different, and they've got to be careful with immigration and energy.
00:53If they're not careful with those two things, you're not going to have a Europe anymore.
00:58Okay, thank you very much.
