Lawmaker says public want answers, not status updates from VP Duterte  “The public is not interested in a status update. The public is interested in her answer to the evidence,” Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Rene Co says on July 7, 2026, reacting to Vice President Sara Duterte’s 'bloodied but unbowed' remark before the second day of her impeachment trial. Co said Filipinos expected Duterte to personally face the charges before the Senate sitting as an impeachment court instead of merely consulting with her defense team. House prosecution panel spokesman and adviser, former congressman Ace Barbers, said the trial was the vice president’s chance to finally respond to the allegations that have dominated public discussion for the past two years.
