00:00:02Tonight, it all comes down to this.
00:00:06A battle of cosmic proportions
00:00:11to crown the greatest builders in the galaxy.
00:00:14With a grand finale comes grand ideas.
00:00:17This is going to be epic.
00:00:18Every team in here is either a pass winner or a finalist.
00:00:21Okay, let's go. Rock and roll.
00:00:23Two powerhouse teams from Australia.
00:00:27Trent and Alex.
00:00:27When we've got both of us working towards the same thing,
00:00:30we're just unstoppable.
00:00:32And Henry and Cade.
00:00:33I've been waiting seven years to do this, guys.
00:00:36With you.
00:00:36We're here to prove that we did not fluke winning season one.
00:00:41Face off against Sweden's Vidar and Albert.
00:00:44We have the craziest ideas.
00:00:46It's moving.
00:00:48They've conquered every challenge.
00:00:50Evil buddy.
00:00:53Go, go, go.
00:00:55Now they have one final chance.
00:00:58I mean, I love the big dog.
00:01:00To create their most mind-blowing builds.
00:01:03Get the head on.
00:01:07This could be a $100,000 piece of Lego.
00:01:14Who will be crowned?
00:01:16It's time to find out.
00:01:18The winner.
00:01:20The brand masters of the galaxy.
00:01:23Wait right here.
00:01:24It's time to find out.
00:01:37No, you can事.
00:01:39You can't.
00:01:45It's time to find out.
00:01:49You can't find out in yourself.
00:01:52So we'rema...
00:02:04This is the best bit, huh?
00:02:12It's the grand master of the galaxy finale, of the grand, of the grand.
00:02:17Yeah, it doesn't get the biggest finale.
00:02:20We're the only team left that's an international team.
00:02:23That means we're representing the rest of the world versus Australia.
00:02:28We've both been in Lego Masters, we've both been in Grand Masters, and now we're here for one thing, the
00:02:34trophy.
00:02:36It's been seven years since we stepped in the ring.
00:02:39We are the OGs.
00:02:40We're coming back to defend our title.
00:02:45Guys, you look like you're rolling in from a huge party.
00:02:49Thanks, thank you for making it.
00:02:53Welcome to the finale of Lego Masters, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
00:02:58You've made it.
00:03:03We've never done ten teams before.
00:03:06I mean, but it's the galaxy, so it's a very big place.
00:03:08And we've whittled it down to just three remaining teams that will battle it out today for the ultimate title.
00:03:17Brickman, what have you loved about the season?
00:03:19Just the fact that the level of competition that you've all been up against has been so much higher.
00:03:25We have made the challenges harder.
00:03:28They've been way more difficult.
00:03:31And so to watch you all excel and come through this, it's been super inspiring.
00:03:37Everyone here has different levels of finale experience, ranging from many to none.
00:03:46Albin, this is your first finale, isn't it?
00:03:49Yes, it is, yeah.
00:03:50It is.
00:03:50But, Vito, you've been to a finale and you've won.
00:03:52Yeah.
00:03:53I'm excited to bring Albin along to actually get to be a part of the finale.
00:03:57Love that.
00:03:58On the other side of the line here, Al.
00:04:01You've never been eliminated.
00:04:03I know.
00:04:03Allergic.
00:04:04Allergic to elimination.
00:04:05Allergic to elimination.
00:04:06And you can't be today.
00:04:07I mean, yeah, you don't get eliminated from the finale.
00:04:10So, can't wait to see what you guys pull out today.
00:04:13Good luck.
00:04:14Henry and Cade, our season one winners.
00:04:17I mean, some wild timing on last episode.
00:04:20Thanks for being here, by the way.
00:04:22Oh, thank you.
00:04:22And congratulations.
00:04:23Thank you very much.
00:04:24Mum and baby are both happy and healthy.
00:04:27Yeah, I've changed a few nappies, so I've done my bit before I've come back.
00:04:30Even if they weren't dirty, just did ten on principle.
00:04:34I've done ten, I'm going back to Lego Masters.
00:04:36Well, I was going to say we'll get you out of here as quickly as possible, but I won't.
00:04:41No.
00:04:42Because we all know that this is a whopper.
00:04:45You are playing number one for the world's most inconvenient and grand trophy.
00:04:54Television's biggest trophy of all time.
00:04:57Number two, you're playing for the title of Grand Masters of the Galaxy Undisputed
00:05:05and, of course, number three, $100,000 in cash.
00:05:13To create your finale masterpieces, you have got 28 hours.
00:05:19In 28 hours' time, 200 members of the public will walk through that door.
00:05:24They each have a brick.
00:05:25Their brick is worth one vote.
00:05:27Brickman has his special brick.
00:05:29His brick's worth 100 votes.
00:05:31You just have to win the majority of those 300 votes
00:05:35to walk away with all the prizes and the glory.
00:05:40I, of course, remain voteless as tradition dictates.
00:05:46There's one build left to go.
00:05:50I got no doubt that we're going to get three pretty awesome builds in 28 hours' time.
00:05:56Time starts now.
00:05:57Good luck.
00:05:58We're on.
00:06:00Here we go.
00:06:01Here we go.
00:06:02Oh, yeah.
00:06:04Grand finale!
00:06:08Grand finale fever, baby!
00:06:10The nerves are at, like, ten.
00:06:12Like, you earn the right to build whatever you like.
00:06:16This has been three seasons in the making.
00:06:19Welcome back.
00:06:21Again.
00:06:21I know.
00:06:22And again.
00:06:23That tells us.
00:06:24Before we came into this series, we hadn't built together.
00:06:27It was a totally new experience.
00:06:29Are you giggling at your own models?
00:06:31Yeah.
00:06:32But from the moment where we had storytelling challenges,
00:06:35we really moved into another gear.
00:06:40There's a bit of a whirl happening, and that's what I like.
00:06:44If we look at the quality of your characters,
00:06:46this is what you'll both come to be known for on Lego Masters.
00:06:50So, Cade, I think you'd better hand the brick over.
00:06:53Oh.
00:06:54One-arm tricking out.
00:06:55Oh, I'm tricking out.
00:06:57Between us, this is five finales.
00:06:59We've come second.
00:07:00We've come third.
00:07:02There's only one spot left that is first.
00:07:05Fire it up.
00:07:06What are we doing?
00:07:06We're doing Dogzilla, mate.
00:07:07Dogzilla.
00:07:09The family pet has busted into the Lego city that the kids have made
00:07:14and is wreaking havoc.
00:07:15My plan was to spend 18 hours on the dog
00:07:19and help Al out with the city.
00:07:21Go, Trent.
00:07:22Gets me.
00:07:23You love it?
00:07:23I'm loving this.
00:07:25Typically, there's always some sort of destruction or action
00:07:28in winning finale builds,
00:07:31but we want to add that cute, fun flair to that story.
00:07:34So, we want to have, you know, attack and destruction meets cute.
00:07:38This could be the biggest city we've ever had.
00:07:41It will be.
00:07:41On Lego Masters.
00:07:42It will.
00:07:42Very confident.
00:07:43It'll win that.
00:07:44Okay.
00:07:44Well, we're going for biggest city ever built.
00:07:47Cutest puppy ever built.
00:07:49And those things align for biggest trophy ever won.
00:07:52That's what we're hoping for.
00:08:01Going in for a hat adjustment.
00:08:04Being the only one here that hasn't done a finals
00:08:08is kind of nerve-wracking,
00:08:10but I'm so excited.
00:08:12It's definitely going to be intense.
00:08:15Yes.
00:08:17I've also won once.
00:08:19It would be amazing to win again.
00:08:25I think going into this,
00:08:27we weren't sure on how to build together.
00:08:29We only competed against each other.
00:08:31So, we have really had a rollercoaster ride this season.
00:08:34I think you've got a fair bit to do.
00:08:36Yeah.
00:08:37Yeah.
00:08:37But I feel like we improved every challenge.
00:08:40Look at these.
00:08:41Oh, my God.
00:08:43We really found out what we can do together.
00:08:50You told a wonderful story.
00:08:51Well done, guys.
00:08:52Great job.
00:08:54I think I've proven myself by being in the finale,
00:08:57but I want to prove myself even more.
00:09:00I want to win.
00:09:01I'm going to measure your head.
00:09:05Yeah.
00:09:0620 times.
00:09:08Are you measuring my mustache?
00:09:10Times 40.
00:09:12We're doing minifig stuff.
00:09:14We're doing characters.
00:09:15We're doing replicas.
00:09:17We're doing everything.
00:09:18We're bringing everything from the entire season
00:09:20and putting it into one build.
00:09:23We're going to build an eight-year-old boy
00:09:25fighting an imaginary toy monster
00:09:27with toys coming out of his toy chest.
00:09:29And they're going to battle against this boy,
00:09:33but he's having so much fun
00:09:34because this is all in his imagination.
00:09:36We're starting on the essential parts.
00:09:38Albin, you're doing, like,
00:09:39the technical frame for the monster, right?
00:09:42Yeah, and you're working on the face of the little boy.
00:09:45Yeah.
00:09:46We've done a lot in this competition,
00:09:47but we've never done a life-sized human, right?
00:09:51So that's going to be something
00:09:52that's going to challenge us even more this time.
00:09:56But taking a risk, I think,
00:09:58has been super good for us.
00:09:59Every build we've taken a big risk,
00:10:02it has paid off.
00:10:03Making a human is hard, isn't it?
00:10:05It is.
00:10:06I'm starting with a head
00:10:07to see how much weight we need to support.
00:10:09Yeah.
00:10:09Yeah, and as soon as you get the head correct,
00:10:11that sets the proportion, doesn't it?
00:10:12Yes, exactly.
00:10:13And then I'm going to start on the legs
00:10:14and eventually find some kind of way
00:10:17to make a torso and connect the head to it.
00:10:19Well, I have a seven-year-old girl.
00:10:21But, I mean, the proportions are pretty similar.
00:10:22Right, yeah.
00:10:23Let me just...
00:10:24Yeah, feel it. It's solid.
00:10:27Does that feel like holding your child?
00:10:29Yeah.
00:10:29A little sharper.
00:10:31She's got quite a smooth head, comparatively.
00:10:34Yeah.
00:10:34And a heavier head.
00:10:35No matter what, honey,
00:10:36you just...
00:10:37You fight that toy monster.
00:10:38I'm very, very proud of you.
00:10:39I can't fight it for you
00:10:40because you wouldn't learn anything.
00:10:41I love you.
00:10:43And, I mean...
00:11:06I've been waiting seven years to do this, bro.
00:11:08With you.
00:11:11I never thought we'd be back.
00:11:12And here we are.
00:11:14It feels kind of surreal to say that, you know,
00:11:17I'm in this finale right now as a dad of three.
00:11:20But we've had to really earn our place in this competition.
00:11:24This has not been easy.
00:11:28We are the OG winners.
00:11:29But in the past seven years,
00:11:32the competition has gotten faster.
00:11:35Bigger.
00:11:36Harder.
00:11:38Time management has always been our Achilles heel.
00:11:40We've just got to keep going the whole time.
00:11:42The bin chickens,
00:11:43because they're so small,
00:11:44you kind of not understand why they're there.
00:11:47Yeah.
00:11:48But over the course of all the challenges...
00:11:51You guys found the group.
00:11:53It has really lifted our game.
00:11:55This is by far and away the best team that you've built this series.
00:11:58Magic brick holder.
00:11:59Henry and Kay.
00:12:01We're here to prove that we did not fluke winning Season 1.
00:12:05We're here to win again
00:12:06and be the first team to win two titles in LEGO Masters.
00:12:12In Series 1, our build was Poseidon.
00:12:16It was epic.
00:12:17But we didn't utilise the whole base plate.
00:12:21Today, that's not going to cut it.
00:12:23We're in the seventh season.
00:12:24Of LEGO Masters.
00:12:26We've got to go big.
00:12:29We're doing the god Athena
00:12:31riding on a Pegasus
00:12:32and she's going to come
00:12:33and protect all these Spartans
00:12:35from this Hydra with five heads.
00:12:38You're going to come up and see this awesome Hydra.
00:12:40You're going to go,
00:12:40I've got to check that out.
00:12:41You're going to come here
00:12:42and then you're going to look up
00:12:43and you're going to see this Pegasus
00:12:44with Athena riding on it,
00:12:46charging into battle.
00:12:47That's a huge vision.
00:12:48Yeah.
00:12:49This is the tricky bit.
00:12:50It's sort of 26 and a half,
00:12:53I think, hours, roughly.
00:12:55Between sounds awesome
00:12:56and looks awesome.
00:12:58That's the chasm to jump, isn't it?
00:13:00Definitely feeling that time,
00:13:02even now.
00:13:03Even though the build is 28 hours,
00:13:05we need to deliver
00:13:07on so many key components.
00:13:09Like, it is a very ambitious build.
00:13:13We're going to be leaning on our technical ability
00:13:15to create builds
00:13:17that none of the other teams
00:13:19could possibly achieve.
00:13:20It's going to be so much fun.
00:13:22Six years for you, Trent.
00:13:23Seven years for me.
00:13:25Yeah, you old dolls
00:13:26going to be able to keep up
00:13:26for 28 hours or what?
00:13:28You got the stamina?
00:13:30You're literally the same age as me.
00:13:40And so it begins.
00:13:42For sure.
00:13:43Grandmasters of the Galaxy.
00:13:44Yep.
00:13:44This is going to be epic.
00:13:46Every 10 in here
00:13:46is either a pass winner
00:13:47or a finalist.
00:13:49The chocks are off.
00:13:50Everyone just goes
00:13:51as hard as they can.
00:13:52Correct.
00:13:53Probably more than we've ever seen
00:13:55in a finale, to be honest.
00:13:56They're building a life-sized child.
00:13:58Yeah.
00:13:59Degree of difficulty?
00:14:00Ten.
00:14:03Holding my furrow in the mouth.
00:14:11I am hyper-focused.
00:14:14I am dreaming bricks.
00:14:16I'm visualising all the things
00:14:17I need to do for the dog.
00:14:18And now it's dog time.
00:14:21I have a lot of fears coming in
00:14:23about this build.
00:14:24The biggest one is
00:14:26how am I going to sculpt
00:14:27a life-sized dog?
00:14:29A dog is a really
00:14:31hard thing to sculpt.
00:14:32I mean, it needs
00:14:33a lot of finesse
00:14:35and a lot of fine-tuning.
00:14:36It's the key part
00:14:38of our build today.
00:14:40What pose are we thinking
00:14:42with this dog?
00:14:43Trank a door, if you like.
00:14:45Here you go.
00:14:45Down.
00:14:46Down like this.
00:14:46Down, boys.
00:14:47Down like this.
00:14:48Tail in the air.
00:14:51And he wants to play.
00:14:53I feel like I've watched
00:14:54a pantomime.
00:14:55Yeah.
00:14:57I'm not sure if it's dynamic.
00:15:01How do we bring it to life
00:15:02a little bit more?
00:15:03How do we sort of get this
00:15:04dog involved in the build
00:15:06as opposed to going to do
00:15:08something?
00:15:09Yeah.
00:15:11We were so set on the idea
00:15:12of it just being a dog
00:15:13and now it's like,
00:15:15is he doing something else
00:15:16in the city?
00:15:18It might be in the pose.
00:15:20Yeah.
00:15:21Yeah.
00:15:22We can think about it.
00:15:23Yeah.
00:15:24Think about it.
00:15:24Like, pouring in a building
00:15:26feels like a cat to me.
00:15:29I love the idea.
00:15:31I love the absurd nature
00:15:33of cat being a dog
00:15:34in the city.
00:15:35Yeah.
00:15:36I think it's a time,
00:15:38I think it's time
00:15:39we've added another character.
00:15:41So a new story now
00:15:43is that the playful puppy
00:15:45has burst into the Lego city
00:15:47wanting to play with cranky cat
00:15:49and cranky cat is not impressed.
00:15:51He's reacting,
00:15:53he's showing,
00:15:54he's cranky.
00:15:55It adds a high degree
00:15:57of difficulty to the game.
00:15:59We're sort of thinking
00:16:00Doggo might take
00:16:01somewhere around 20 hours.
00:16:03Adding something else,
00:16:06it's going to really crunch
00:16:07the time.
00:16:08We're going to run out of time,
00:16:10but our superpower today
00:16:12is experience
00:16:13in the grand finale.
00:16:15We are hot
00:16:17on what Brickman is after.
00:16:19We have honed
00:16:20our set of skills
00:16:21and that is how
00:16:23we're going to win today.
00:16:25Bring it on, Brickman.
00:16:26Come up with the challenges.
00:16:28We're there for you.
00:16:30Coming up.
00:16:32Okay, the back.
00:16:34The galactic battle
00:16:35reaches new hives.
00:16:37Let's go, let's go, let's go.
00:16:38Human anatomy
00:16:39is really tough.
00:16:41Yeah.
00:16:41We've had such big ideas
00:16:42during this whole season.
00:16:44This one is by far
00:16:45our biggest.
00:16:46How would you fix it
00:16:47without rebuilding it?
00:16:53I think that was the hit.
00:16:56God damn it!
00:17:08Jesus, it's big.
00:17:10Wow.
00:17:20All right, everyone.
00:17:21I'm actually going to do
00:17:22something wild.
00:17:23I'm going to stop the clock.
00:17:25Stop building.
00:17:25Come out here.
00:17:26What's going on?
00:17:28I need to get something.
00:17:29Please just wait here.
00:17:30Go ahead.
00:17:34I know a lot of you
00:17:36have spent a lot of time
00:17:37building in this series.
00:17:40But there's someone
00:17:41in the room
00:17:41that's spent
00:17:42a lot more time building.
00:17:44And in 10 seconds' time,
00:17:47they will become
00:17:48officially the person
00:17:49that's built
00:17:49the longest ever
00:17:50in the world
00:17:51on Lego Masters.
00:17:53That's you.
00:17:54Al,
00:17:54you're about to hit
00:17:55your 450th hour.
00:18:02First 450 is the hardest.
00:18:04And then it gets
00:18:05a bit easier after that.
00:18:07Brickman,
00:18:07you get one of these.
00:18:08Sure.
00:18:09Just one.
00:18:11You guys get one.
00:18:13Here we go.
00:18:15In...
00:18:15Five,
00:18:16four,
00:18:17three,
00:18:18two,
00:18:19one.
00:18:21450 hours,
00:18:22my lady!
00:18:27I've stuck it out
00:18:28three times to the end,
00:18:29so 450 hours
00:18:31feels like a lifetime
00:18:32for me.
00:18:32Okay, good.
00:18:33Confirmed?
00:18:34Officially.
00:18:35Officially?
00:18:36All right.
00:18:37Congratulations, Al.
00:18:38450 to the finest.
00:18:40Good work.
00:18:40Thanks, mate.
00:18:41Oh, my God.
00:18:42Lego bricks.
00:18:43No expense spared.
00:18:45Now, come on, guys.
00:18:47Who wants to walk away
00:18:47with that $99,820?
00:18:52Minus expenses
00:18:53of the finale.
00:18:54I think my journey
00:18:56has been massive.
00:18:57And to now be standing here
00:18:58in the grandmas
00:18:59of the galaxy finale
00:19:01feeling like a somewhat
00:19:03confident Lego builder
00:19:04to me is insane.
00:19:07So I think...
00:19:07And you deserve to be...
00:19:08Oh.
00:19:09Thanks, Kate.
00:19:09I wouldn't want to
00:19:10spend it any other way.
00:19:23I've got the head down
00:19:24in the first few hours
00:19:26and I think it looks good.
00:19:27We've polished it
00:19:28at a lot of slopes
00:19:30and some interesting stuff.
00:19:31If there's time,
00:19:32we could polish it even more.
00:19:33But right now,
00:19:34starting on the body.
00:19:49It looks awesome, dude.
00:19:51Thanks, man.
00:19:52Man, there's a lot to do here.
00:19:59What tall is the boy
00:20:01going to be?
00:20:02110.
00:20:05Brickman.
00:20:05With a grand finale
00:20:06comes grand ideas.
00:20:08So let's start
00:20:09Henry and Kate.
00:20:10They're basically
00:20:11doing their build
00:20:12from series one.
00:20:14Multiply.
00:20:15They're throwing out numbers
00:20:16that we're going to have
00:20:17five heads.
00:20:18It's going to have
00:20:1920 Spartans.
00:20:20It's easy to throw
00:20:21all that out.
00:20:21You've actually
00:20:22got to do it.
00:20:23That's the hard part.
00:20:24The backing it up.
00:20:25Do they have
00:20:26this level of pace
00:20:28to build that much?
00:20:29If I was to have
00:20:30one knock on them
00:20:31so far this
00:20:32Grand Masters of the Galaxy,
00:20:34it's been their pace.
00:20:35They haven't adjusted
00:20:37well to the pace.
00:20:38And right now,
00:20:39they are feeling it.
00:20:40I think we need
00:20:41to pick up the pace.
00:20:43I think you can take
00:20:4310 hours on the horse.
00:20:45I need to get it done.
00:20:47I'm going to go
00:20:48as fast as I can, man.
00:20:50Trent and Alex.
00:20:52Certainly the biggest city
00:20:53we've ever seen
00:20:54and the cutest dog.
00:20:56By introducing a cat
00:20:58into the world,
00:20:59all of a sudden
00:20:59it's like it's at home.
00:21:00The kids have built
00:21:01this Lego city
00:21:02and then the dog
00:21:03and the cat have come in
00:21:04and causing...
00:21:05They're having a fight.
00:21:05They're having a fight.
00:21:06Causing chaos.
00:21:07I think the cat
00:21:08is the linchpin
00:21:09that they've built.
00:21:10The cat hasn't been built yet.
00:21:11No.
00:21:12I've almost done
00:21:12the dog's head.
00:21:13It's just got a whole body
00:21:14and a whole other cat
00:21:15to build.
00:21:16Team Sweden.
00:21:17All right.
00:21:17Beat Aaron Albin.
00:21:19Life-sized boy
00:21:20versus toy
00:21:22assembled monster.
00:21:24You know,
00:21:24my mind goes to things
00:21:25like Voltron
00:21:26or Transformers
00:21:27where things
00:21:28click together.
00:21:28There's a great history of it.
00:21:29And so working
00:21:30in that world
00:21:31and that space
00:21:31is very clever.
00:21:33that I'm concerned
00:21:34most about
00:21:35the boy
00:21:36making a human
00:21:37was a very,
00:21:38very bold move
00:21:40and it's nothing
00:21:41to do with their skill
00:21:42because I have
00:21:43absolute faith
00:21:44and question
00:21:45that they can
00:21:45definitely do it.
00:21:46But is it the right use
00:21:48of the 28 hours?
00:21:49Is it polished enough
00:21:50and finessed enough
00:21:52to make it
00:21:53enhance their model?
00:21:54And that takes
00:21:55longer than you think.
00:21:56I'm like a 3D printer
00:21:58building these things
00:22:00layer by layer.
00:22:02I almost can't reach anymore.
00:22:05Our idea
00:22:06is to have a build
00:22:07that connects
00:22:07to all different ages, right?
00:22:09We want to have something
00:22:10that's impressive
00:22:11because it's so big.
00:22:13We want to have something
00:22:13that's fun to look at.
00:22:15we really wanted
00:22:16to get the attention
00:22:17of the audience
00:22:18really quick
00:22:19because you see
00:22:19whoa, that is huge.
00:22:21How can you build
00:22:22something like that?
00:22:23And this is where
00:22:24the arm is going to...
00:22:27But building a human
00:22:29is hard
00:22:29because you have to think
00:22:30about the proportions,
00:22:31you have to think
00:22:32about the shapes
00:22:33of a body,
00:22:34you have to think
00:22:34about all that.
00:22:36Human anatomy
00:22:37is really tough.
00:22:38Yes.
00:22:38Because what you don't
00:22:39want to do
00:22:39is have joints
00:22:41go in a way
00:22:42that joints
00:22:43don't actually go.
00:22:44This is the pose
00:22:45we're going for.
00:22:46What I notice
00:22:47immediately there
00:22:48is your left knee
00:22:49is bent substantially.
00:22:51This is completely straight.
00:22:53So you just want
00:22:54to make sure
00:22:55you've got your posing
00:22:55100% right.
00:22:56That's all.
00:22:58I think Brickman's
00:22:59comment is really fair.
00:23:02Being able to finish
00:23:03these characters
00:23:04with the amount of detail.
00:23:05At this scale,
00:23:06it's hard.
00:23:09Body is somewhat blocky.
00:23:12It looks like
00:23:13two body shapes.
00:23:15How would you fix it
00:23:18without rebuilding it?
00:23:20It's going to be
00:23:20a challenge.
00:23:22But I have done
00:23:24life-size heads before
00:23:25and I've done
00:23:26a few characters.
00:23:28So I do think
00:23:29we can pull it off.
00:23:31It's going to be hard
00:23:32for sure,
00:23:33but I really want
00:23:34to prove him wrong.
00:23:35I'm going to fix
00:23:37that knee,
00:23:38I think.
00:23:47For the city,
00:23:48I'm seeing really
00:23:49big, tall skyscrapers
00:23:51at the back
00:23:51just to give us
00:23:52some height
00:23:52and some wow.
00:23:53And then in our
00:23:54midground,
00:23:55I want some really
00:23:55bright, poppy buildings
00:23:57to add some colour
00:23:58and some life
00:23:59to the city.
00:24:00I'm currently building
00:24:02not a Woolworths.
00:24:05I'm currently building
00:24:07an apartment building
00:24:08that's going to be
00:24:09demolished open
00:24:09and inside
00:24:11is going to be
00:24:12someone caught
00:24:12in the shower.
00:24:13There are a number
00:24:14of difficult elements
00:24:16of making a life-size puppy.
00:24:18The first is getting
00:24:19the face
00:24:20to convey the emotion.
00:24:22It's hard
00:24:22with Lego bricks.
00:24:23The second
00:24:24is it's a very
00:24:25curved, organic shape.
00:24:28You don't want
00:24:28to see the joints,
00:24:29ideally,
00:24:30when you're building
00:24:30a creature.
00:24:31So just making
00:24:33those angles just right,
00:24:34hiding it,
00:24:35really important.
00:24:36A little proud,
00:24:37proud Lego build moment.
00:24:38The dog is coming
00:24:39together,
00:24:40but our biggest concern
00:24:41right now is
00:24:42the addition
00:24:43of the second animal.
00:24:44I want to get
00:24:45this cat built
00:24:46as quick as I can
00:24:48so we can play
00:24:49around with the positioning.
00:24:51That is going to be
00:24:52crucial to our build today.
00:24:53This is going to come
00:24:54down to the final pose
00:24:56and the impact
00:24:57that we get from the scene.
00:24:59I think that's
00:25:00what we're up against.
00:25:01Everybody,
00:25:02you are halfway.
00:25:06Whoa!
00:25:07Halfway.
00:25:0814 hours down,
00:25:0914 to go
00:25:11of this
00:25:1228-hour
00:25:14mammoth build.
00:25:20That's getting huge.
00:25:26I'm just doing
00:25:27a bit of a check-in
00:25:28with you.
00:25:28Are you all right?
00:25:29Yeah.
00:25:29I'm just making sure
00:25:30I'm lining up
00:25:32the wings.
00:25:33I am nowhere near
00:25:34completing this Pegasus.
00:25:36I think I've gravely
00:25:37underestimated
00:25:38what's involved
00:25:39in this build.
00:25:40I'm sorry this is
00:25:41taking so long,
00:25:41but it's actually
00:25:43really complicated
00:25:43getting this to work.
00:25:46The Pegasus
00:25:47has taken
00:25:47way longer
00:25:48than Cade thought.
00:25:50The Hydras
00:25:50are taking way longer
00:25:51than I thought.
00:25:52and I feel like
00:25:53we're just not
00:25:54on track.
00:25:55Sorry, bro,
00:25:56I don't mean to
00:25:56pressure you,
00:25:56but you need to...
00:25:57I'm going as fast
00:25:58as I can.
00:25:59It's...
00:26:00I hear you.
00:26:01We are in so deep
00:26:02right now
00:26:03with Pegasus.
00:26:05There's still
00:26:05a lot to do.
00:26:07We still need
00:26:07to finish
00:26:08the Spartans.
00:26:09We've got to build
00:26:09the Hydra,
00:26:11Athena.
00:26:12We don't have
00:26:13that moment
00:26:13of tension
00:26:14that we think
00:26:15was the key
00:26:17for us winning
00:26:17season one.
00:26:20Like Poseidon,
00:26:20when he was
00:26:21striking down
00:26:21the serpent,
00:26:22that was the
00:26:22moment of tension.
00:26:23That's what Pegasus
00:26:24is to this build.
00:26:26Dude.
00:26:27Yes.
00:26:28Look at this.
00:26:29Oh, don't do that.
00:26:30Don't.
00:26:31I just want to see
00:26:32the weight,
00:26:32like it can hold the weight.
00:26:33See, that's why.
00:26:38Bro, we need to move on
00:26:40because otherwise
00:26:40we are not going
00:26:41to have a build.
00:26:54I feel like
00:26:55we've got a lot
00:26:55to do.
00:26:56Like, not,
00:26:57like, it's not even
00:26:57just the Pegasus.
00:26:58I've got to get
00:26:58onto the rest
00:26:59of the environment,
00:27:00build that up.
00:27:01I've got to get
00:27:01the Pegasus
00:27:02up the top.
00:27:03Henry's stuff's
00:27:04coming together
00:27:04really nicely.
00:27:05It looks amazing.
00:27:06Well done.
00:27:07It's all right, bro.
00:27:08It's good.
00:27:09There's a lot to go
00:27:10and I feel like
00:27:12I'm letting Henry
00:27:13down because
00:27:14this is my part
00:27:15of the build.
00:27:17We have a winning
00:27:18concept,
00:27:19but that title
00:27:20of Grandmaster
00:27:21of the Galaxy,
00:27:22it's just
00:27:24slipping away.
00:27:43That looks great.
00:27:45I'm loving that.
00:27:46Yeah.
00:27:47All right, everyone.
00:27:47I'm going to stop
00:27:48the clock.
00:27:49At this point,
00:27:51I think it's worth
00:27:52stopping and taking
00:27:54a moment to reflect
00:27:55on the teams
00:27:56that aren't here
00:27:56anymore.
00:27:57When you have a TV
00:27:58show where you have
00:27:59teams from other
00:28:00countries and they're
00:28:00not there anymore,
00:28:01it's a bit of a TV
00:28:02tradition that you
00:28:03take down the flags.
00:28:04This is a really
00:28:05important ceremony
00:28:06in television,
00:28:06and when you have
00:28:08an important
00:28:08ceremony,
00:28:09you need
00:28:09appropriate music.
00:28:12music.
00:28:14Oh, my God.
00:28:18Here we go.
00:28:19Yeah.
00:28:20Yeah.
00:28:32Oh, my God.
00:28:59That was beautiful.
00:29:00It's a shed a tear.
00:29:02Thank you, guys.
00:29:05And now we will march out with the flags.
00:29:18Not a baraka.
00:29:24Oh, yeah.
00:29:26Godspeed.
00:29:34Back to work, everyone.
00:29:36Dry your eyes if you need to.
00:29:39That was amazing.
00:29:44I reckon that one may be more towards the middle, maybe.
00:29:48Yeah.
00:29:50We've had such big ideas during this whole season.
00:29:53This one is by far our biggest.
00:29:55There's a lot of difficult stuff about building an actual life-size figure.
00:29:59Obviously, you have to replicate human form.
00:30:01You have to do, like, all the bends, all the posing and all the shapes.
00:30:06Brickman keeps saying to us that the proportions are really difficult.
00:30:10Selling that this is an actual human, that is really hard.
00:30:13Right now, I'm actually trying to fine-tune the leg and the bending of the knee.
00:30:19Almost entirely sloped.
00:30:21Great.
00:30:22But at the same time, the boy adds to the story, but the monster is really the focal point.
00:30:26So, we are putting all of our focus and all of our energy into the toy monster.
00:30:30He's coming out of that toy chest.
00:30:32Toy's just spilling out.
00:30:34And the toys are actually joining him in the battle against the eight-year-old boy.
00:30:38Since kids are going to be like, at least, hi.
00:30:44We have to have the eyes visible from this position.
00:30:48On the monster's head, we're actually going to build a book that is open with teeth.
00:30:52And we're thinking of a snow globe and a gumball machine as the eyes on the loser.
00:30:59We're really telling the story of imagination here.
00:31:01Not just a fight or a cool monster.
00:31:04Oh, nice.
00:31:04Yeah.
00:31:09We need to name the dog.
00:31:11Is it something along the lines of Oskari?
00:31:15Oh, yes, it is.
00:31:17There's no time to react.
00:31:18He's so dead.
00:31:20In tribute to our fallen comic.
00:31:21I love that.
00:31:22The playful puppy has burst into the Lego city, wanting to play with Cranky Cat.
00:31:28Cranky Cat is not impressed.
00:31:30I have finished work on the dog.
00:31:33Cat head is done.
00:31:34Very happy with the ears.
00:31:36Just getting all the shapes and dimensions really right.
00:31:39It takes a lot of time, but I think it's worth it.
00:31:42I came into this finale wanting to build my best character on Lego Masters.
00:31:46And I think I've done it.
00:31:48Just finalising this back area.
00:31:50Yep, sweet.
00:31:51You're on track, Al.
00:31:52Yeah, I think so.
00:31:54Killer stories, right?
00:31:55Yep.
00:31:56This is my third time being here in a grand finale, and I think I'm feeling strangely confident.
00:32:01We're really feeling that we need to push ourselves.
00:32:04I think a mid-rise.
00:32:05And a small mid-rise, like two different ones.
00:32:09Sweet.
00:32:10Colourful ones.
00:32:11We've planned for the dog.
00:32:12We've now added the cat.
00:32:14And now we're going to build another layer of city.
00:32:19It's looking so good now.
00:32:21I love it.
00:32:21I love it so much.
00:32:22The colour looks great.
00:32:23Yeah.
00:32:24Yeah.
00:32:24That's what that mid-ground needed.
00:32:26We want the audience to come over and go, oh my God, this is amazing.
00:32:29Look at the details.
00:32:30And we want to spend more than 30 seconds looking at the build.
00:32:33We really want to hold them there.
00:32:35Our style of building is, it's cartoon, it's silly, it's fun.
00:32:40People underestimate us because they don't always think we have the most technical skills.
00:32:46What we do deliver is far more advanced than people seem to think from the outside.
00:32:51I think if you asked around the room at the beginning of this competition who would win,
00:32:55I don't think anyone would have said Alex and Trent.
00:32:57And now, it's possible.
00:33:04Oh, Jesus, what's that?
00:33:06Five-minute massage.
00:33:07Oh, yes, please, please.
00:33:08Can you do mid-back?
00:33:10Yeah.
00:33:11Oh, my God.
00:33:11Where were you like two hours ago?
00:33:14I'm carrying a lot of tension here.
00:33:15What's bothering you?
00:33:16Yeah, I wonder.
00:33:17Maybe like a 28-hour build?
00:33:18Oh, God, that sounds tough.
00:33:20Is that what you do for a living?
00:33:21I do it for fun, man.
00:33:23It's a hobby that's now.
00:33:23You're not that guy from TV, are you?
00:33:25Oh, my kids love that show.
00:33:28Are you on the finale?
00:33:30Yeah.
00:33:30Did you make the finale?
00:33:31I did.
00:33:32Oh, wow.
00:33:32How'd you go?
00:33:33They probably can't tell me, but did you win?
00:33:35No.
00:33:36You didn't.
00:33:36We didn't win.
00:33:38That's wonderful.
00:33:39Thanks, Hay.
00:33:39That is the most value you've added in the last couple of hours.
00:33:42You've gone mad with Jaliria.
00:33:43I'm very valuable at all times.
00:33:45Keep building.
00:33:45Good luck.
00:33:53It is on.
00:33:54Hey.
00:33:55Good times.
00:33:56Well done.
00:33:57Everyone, you have got two hours.
00:34:00This is where me yelling at the time becomes worse and worse news.
00:34:05Good luck.
00:34:06Go, go, go, go.
00:34:10All right.
00:34:12Let's all speed things up.
00:34:1420 hours have been sunk into this Pegasus.
00:34:16We have gone way over budget.
00:34:18I feel like we need a pair back.
00:34:20Dude, does it look all right?
00:34:21So we are paring back on elements that will allow us to deliver the polish that we need
00:34:26to have a winning build.
00:34:29Originally, we wanted to do five heads for the Hydra.
00:34:31Minimum next for a Hydra is three.
00:34:34Three Hydra heads is an effective story.
00:34:36And still creating that moment of tension with Athena and Pegasus up in the sky.
00:34:42Dude.
00:34:44Yeah.
00:34:54Excellent.
00:34:55Looks amazing, dude.
00:34:57Not the same, though.
00:34:58Teamwork.
00:34:59I am so relieved to finally be finished with the Pegasus and know that it's looking incredible.
00:35:04You know, we've had some dark moments on this build, but I really feel like we can bring
00:35:08this home.
00:35:09We can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel, and we can't wait to bring it
00:35:13home.
00:35:13Like, I am so pumped right now to bring this build together.
00:35:17Last two hours on LEGO Masters, man.
00:35:18Let's go.
00:35:19Let's go.
00:35:19Let's go.
00:35:20Yeah?
00:35:20Yes.
00:35:22Coming up.
00:35:27Who will be crowned LEGO Masters Grand Masters of the Galaxy?
00:35:44All right, everyone.
00:35:45No.
00:35:46This is it.
00:35:47You've got one hour to go.
00:35:49Terrifying.
00:35:50One hour to go, everyone.
00:35:51Let's go.
00:35:52Bring it home out.
00:35:53Go.
00:35:54Bring it home.
00:35:55Go, Trent.
00:35:55Yes.
00:35:56One hour to go, everyone.
00:35:57Good luck.
00:35:58You keep building.
00:35:59One hour for me as well.
00:36:01One hour for everyone.
00:36:02Where's that tan box?
00:36:04Running in circles here.
00:36:06Vehicle will be easy.
00:36:07I know how to build it.
00:36:08Okay, okay.
00:36:08Take me, like, 20 minutes.
00:36:09Okay.
00:36:11Need me to hold something?
00:36:13No, that's fine.
00:36:17Come on.
00:36:17Come on, come on, come on.
00:36:24I'll break the air around you.
00:36:26It takes some tension out of the air.
00:36:30I'll break the air around you.
00:36:32I'll break the air around you.
00:36:32I'll break the air around you.
00:36:32I'll break the air around you.
00:36:35I'll break the air around you.
00:36:38Okay, therapy over.
00:36:40Please pay at the front.
00:36:47It's so good, Em.
00:36:48I mean, I love the big dog, but I'm so excited by these little stories.
00:36:53I am currently working on some of our story elements, so I'm starting to get some minifigs to add the
00:36:57fun and the humour into this build.
00:37:00I'm just going to get these animal catches in.
00:37:01So we want to make sure that we've grabbed them with the giant dog and cat, and now we're going
00:37:05to hold them with these stories.
00:37:06So it's really important that I make them fun, silly, and cute.
00:37:10I'm making some scaffolding.
00:37:12Oh, nice.
00:37:13Like, some trees can sit and look at the cat and, like, laugh.
00:37:15I have done the majority of the work on the cat.
00:37:21It's good.
00:37:23Yeah.
00:37:27Oh, my God.
00:37:29So funny.
00:37:31And it looks hilarious.
00:37:33I have a question about the cat.
00:37:35Yes.
00:37:35The four legs look like pillars.
00:37:40Is there a way to get one to come to life?
00:37:43Like, do they sort of bend even just ever so slowly in towards each other just to add a little
00:37:47bit of dynamism to it?
00:37:49Brickman is not a fan of the cat's legs.
00:37:52I get what he's saying.
00:37:53I don't want to have no cat.
00:37:55No, no.
00:37:55Do we try it?
00:37:57Moving them in?
00:37:58I think so.
00:37:59We're worried.
00:38:00Of course we're worried.
00:38:01This is the grand finale.
00:38:02Everything is on the line.
00:38:04One mistake now, cat breaks, cat drops.
00:38:08Any change doesn't stand.
00:38:09There's so much that can go wrong.
00:38:11Al's feeling unwell.
00:38:12We're going to give it our best shot.
00:38:24That's perfect.
00:38:27No.
00:38:28We've got 30 minutes, Trent.
00:38:29Al, I'll take care of that, mate.
00:38:3330 minutes.
00:38:3530 minutes.
00:38:36That might come as a bit of a shock, but 30 minutes to go.
00:38:39Let's do this, bro.
00:38:40Let's do this.
00:38:40Bring it on.
00:38:41Half an hour stands between you and 200 members of the public deciding if your build is worthy of taking
00:38:48home this trophy and $100,000.
00:38:53Final push.
00:38:54Good luck, guys.
00:38:55Okay.
00:38:55Let's go.
00:38:56Rock and roll.
00:38:59Our idea was insane from the beginning.
00:39:01Wow.
00:39:02That looks good.
00:39:03And we pulled it off.
00:39:05We did everything that we wanted to without compromise.
00:39:09It looks incredible.
00:39:13The problem with our build right now is that we grab attention by having something huge and red and colorful,
00:39:19but we need to keep attention in some way.
00:39:21Okay, so we're going to do that by having a lot of interesting toys.
00:39:25How about it?
00:39:25Yep.
00:39:26Oh, wow.
00:39:27We're adding some iconic old toys and trying to just throw them in there.
00:39:31That's going to be definitely the key to winning this.
00:39:37I'm going to yell something out.
00:39:39I don't want to shock anyone, but 10 minutes.
00:39:43All right, here we go.
00:39:45Legons on the way.
00:39:48We've been working on different solutions to get the cat legs on an angle.
00:39:54Okay, we're in.
00:39:55I think that'll be good.
00:39:57Okay, the back.
00:39:59It's not going to hold, Drew.
00:40:02Unfortunately, the weight of the cat is so heavy.
00:40:05And the pieces that we're using just aren't strong enough to support it.
00:40:09I don't think it holds.
00:40:11It's not going to hold.
00:40:13I'm worried that if we keep on this path, that the cat is going to fall over and we'll
00:40:16have no cat at all.
00:40:17Okay.
00:40:18So we're going to devote back to the original legs.
00:40:20Which we know will stand up.
00:40:29We just need to get the ears and the tail back on.
00:40:32We've had three seasons leading up to this point, and four little cat legs are not going
00:40:37to stop us from winning.
00:40:38We've worked so hard this whole build, this whole challenge, all these seasons leading
00:40:41up.
00:40:42We want to win so bad.
00:40:43We've pushed so hard.
00:40:44We've challenged ourselves time and time again.
00:40:46I think it's time.
00:40:48Very careful.
00:40:50Very careful.
00:40:52Okay, good, good, good.
00:40:54Can you pass me the head, please, Hannah?
00:40:55Yeah.
00:40:57Wow.
00:40:58Do you think I should go over the table on, you know, the start of We Will Rock You?
00:41:02No.
00:41:02Just to build the excitement.
00:41:03No, no, no, no.
00:41:06Oh, man.
00:41:06That is ridiculous.
00:41:08I've got to stop looking.
00:41:10Seeing some of the key elements come together, the Hydra heads, they look amazing.
00:41:15Oh, yeah.
00:41:16The one that's standing up really tall, no structural issues.
00:41:19I'm so happy.
00:41:20It's going to work.
00:41:21And I can see the eyeline lining up with Pegasus.
00:41:24It's going to look amazing.
00:41:25It actually came together in the last 20 minutes, bro.
00:41:28It is the final minutes of this build, and we've got to get Athena up in the sky.
00:41:32I need to get this head mounted, too, bro.
00:41:34This one's fiddly.
00:41:35Do it.
00:41:36Athena's face is the hero shot.
00:41:38It is made up of so many Lego elements, and they're tiny.
00:41:41But it's allowed me to get the subtlety to create such a beautiful helmet for her and her face.
00:41:47I have worked so hard to make sure she's perfect.
00:41:54Oh, Henry.
00:41:57Oh, Henry.
00:42:07Fudge.
00:42:09I think that was the head.
00:42:10Where is that piece that I just dropped?
00:42:13No, no, no.
00:42:13Her face.
00:42:14Her face literally fell apart.
00:42:16In the front there.
00:42:17In the foreman.
00:42:18Have a look.
00:42:19There's nothing.
00:42:23Goddammit!
00:42:33White curved slopes.
00:42:34That's what I'm looking for.
00:42:35Is that what it is?
00:42:37No, it's the nose.
00:42:38It's on the floor there.
00:42:39What's that?
00:42:39No?
00:42:40Basically, the nose piece has come out, and it's fallen on the floor.
00:42:44And because there were places of bonsai, they can't find that piece.
00:42:49Go and make another one right now.
00:42:51I'll look for it.
00:42:53Two minutes.
00:42:55Tell me what you need, and I can get it.
00:42:57T-slopes, T-slopes.
00:42:59Wedges.
00:43:00Two by two.
00:43:02There's got to be a $100,000 piece of Lego brick.
00:43:05It's everything.
00:43:07One by two or two by two?
00:43:09One by two.
00:43:10How many?
00:43:11Two.
00:43:15I need a one by two white plate.
00:43:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:43:18One by two white plate.
00:43:19Quick, quick, quick.
00:43:23I can't say we're older.
00:43:26I can tell you what.
00:43:27Where's the brown for her hair?
00:43:2990 seconds.
00:43:31Another one of these.
00:43:32Two by two.
00:43:33Two by two.
00:43:39Just have a look at it.
00:43:40Just have a look.
00:43:42Fireman, fireman, fireman.
00:43:44For what?
00:43:45For the fire truck.
00:43:46Okay, I'm going to give this to you.
00:43:48Yeah, I'll put it on.
00:43:48Yeah, it's a very delicate ball joint.
00:43:50It will pop out.
00:43:51You just need to be...
00:43:52Oh, should I do it?
00:43:54No.
00:43:54Get the head on.
00:43:59It's all right.
00:44:01Pass it here.
00:44:02Get ready to never touch this build again.
00:44:05That's the one.
00:44:06Do we have a Dalmatian?
00:44:08No.
00:44:09Fire truck Dalmatian.
00:44:12Careful, though, Albert.
00:44:1330 seconds.
00:44:14Clean, clean.
00:44:14Clean it down.
00:44:15Clean it down.
00:44:17Can I have someone sitting on the seat?
00:44:18Yeah.
00:44:21Come on.
00:44:21Oh, the back of the build.
00:44:22Clear it down.
00:44:23Clear it down.
00:44:2510, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
00:44:35That is it.
00:44:39Wow.
00:44:40Wow.
00:44:41Hold on, man.
00:44:42Lego Masters.
00:44:43Grand Masters of the Galaxy has laid its last brick.
00:44:46Holy cow.
00:44:47I don't think we have ever had a finale finale like that.
00:44:53Congratulations, guys.
00:44:54Well done, everyone.
00:44:55Three of the great films.
00:44:58I need a show.
00:45:00I need a show.
00:45:20Ha, ha, ha, ha.
00:45:23All right, Brickman.
00:45:23Looks unbelievable.
00:45:25Amazing.
00:45:26Before we get to making the grandest decision in the galaxy, I feel like we should have a closer look.
00:45:33Let's start over here.
00:45:34Let's take a look at Henry and Cade.
00:45:36Wow.
00:45:38Here we are, seven years later, after Henry and Cade gave us our very first ever finale build.
00:45:48We're returning to ancient Greece.
00:45:53We have Spartan warriors washed up on the shore, being attacked by a giant hydra.
00:46:02We have an epic Athena goddess riding a giant Pegasus, swooping down to save the day.
00:46:11This looks incredible.
00:46:13I can't believe all of the elements that we talked about having on this build there, and
00:46:17that they look to the level of quality they do.
00:46:19I'm so proud, man.
00:46:20It looks amazing.
00:46:21Me too, man.
00:46:25Every single one of these characters, they're all poseable.
00:46:28Not like Lego figurines.
00:46:30Action figurines.
00:46:31That's what gives it the emotion, the action.
00:46:34Anywhere where you have to have the shape of Lego bricks, they've made it look like in
00:46:38the armour, like it's the edge of muscles, and it stops it looking like a shape that doesn't
00:46:44belong on a human body.
00:46:45Absolutely right.
00:46:46But the contouring that they've done is outstanding.
00:46:49So let's talk a little bit about the Pegasus.
00:46:53Artistic doesn't do it justice.
00:46:55Even the wing shape, the bends in the right places on the wings and things like that are
00:47:00amazing.
00:47:01But you can tell Cade spent too long on it.
00:47:04That was the thing that was perhaps the most invested in this build.
00:47:09When you're building characters as complex and as detailed as what these are, the rest
00:47:15of the world is missing a lot of that polish.
00:47:17The big pillar, you would have loved if it was like a ruined pillar and they had a couple
00:47:21of other pillars sit around, which would give that context.
00:47:25However, if I was to summarise this build, I think it's much better than the season one
00:47:30winner.
00:47:31This is an amazing build.
00:47:33They should be super proud of this one.
00:47:35100%.
00:47:39Okay, let's take a look at Team Sweden.
00:47:43Look how big it is.
00:47:44I feel like from the get-go, Team Sweden were like, we want to build something that is imposing.
00:47:51Tick that box.
00:47:52Have they achieved that?
00:47:53Like you wouldn't believe.
00:47:54Absolutely tick that box.
00:47:59Our build today, it's child's imagination.
00:48:04We have this eight-year-old boy standing there with his hockey stick, imagining a fight against
00:48:11this toy monster.
00:48:13The toy monster is coming out of his toy chest with a book as a mouth.
00:48:19And it's ready for battle.
00:48:26This ends up being the most insane build I've ever done.
00:48:30And it's huge.
00:48:32I actually don't understand how we have been able to put down someone in bricks.
00:48:40I think this is the best idea out of the three.
00:48:43It's so unique and so different.
00:48:45A toy box monster.
00:48:46Love the idea and love the concept.
00:48:48It just shows that their imagination is next level.
00:48:50I think Vidar and Albin's journey through Lego Masters this season, if it's taught us anything,
00:48:57it's their ability to do something super detailed and realistic.
00:49:01And if you look at the individual toys that they are, they're all really good.
00:49:06Like, you know, the little 1950s toy robot, for example.
00:49:09The Etch-a-Sketch.
00:49:10All these sorts of little things that are scattered throughout the book.
00:49:12They're very good at making those at a level of detail.
00:49:16And there's a lot of them, which is really interesting and engaging for people to look at.
00:49:20And also minifigures.
00:49:22There's lots of little adventures that the minifigures are doing.
00:49:25And it gives you a license to be able to be creative.
00:49:28It's the holding your attention part.
00:49:30And that's what minifigures allow you to do.
00:49:32That gets votes.
00:49:33Now, Rickman, there's going to be a cost for building a life-size boy.
00:49:38Yes.
00:49:39The cost is polish.
00:49:40Essentially, it just takes so much time to get it the right proportions,
00:49:45to get everything perfect on it.
00:49:47That's the trade-off.
00:49:49Love their desire to go for a big swing.
00:49:52And now we get to find out if it works, if it translates,
00:49:56if that's what the public are into.
00:49:58Indeed.
00:50:05Trent and Alex.
00:50:06Rickman, does it show a good use of 28 hours?
00:50:10There's every bit of 28 hours here.
00:50:13You can tell this is from a couple of people
00:50:15that have done LEGO Masters before.
00:50:19This has been three seasons in the making.
00:50:21To be here and to do our best build feels amazing.
00:50:26Can I say, out of ours three builds and Trent's two builds,
00:50:30I think this is their best.
00:50:32I reckon it's our turn to hoist the trophy.
00:50:48Trent and Alex.
00:50:51Today we've built Dogzilla versus Cranky Cat.
00:50:55Puppy has burst into the city,
00:50:58leaving a trail of destruction.
00:51:04He just wants to play.
00:51:07Cranky Cat is not having a bar of it.
00:51:09He's up on all fours.
00:51:14The LEGO city is in chaos.
00:51:16There's cars.
00:51:17They're on fire.
00:51:20Buildings are toppling over.
00:51:22There's a construction site.
00:51:24And people are just wondering what the heck is going on.
00:51:31I'm just so proud.
00:51:33I love this build.
00:51:34It is the best thing that I've ever built, personally,
00:51:38and the best thing we've ever built.
00:51:43It feels like this scene is extremely well considered.
00:51:48For me, it was always going to come down to,
00:51:51if you're putting a puppy in a scene,
00:51:53you're going for cute points.
00:51:54Sure.
00:51:55They've got that cartoony balance right.
00:51:58100%.
00:51:58And even the pose of the dog too.
00:52:00It's incredibly playful.
00:52:01Almost perfect.
00:52:04Originally, this build never had a cat in it.
00:52:06It was just going to be the dog playing.
00:52:08But I think the cat adds that...
00:52:11You've got a story.
00:52:12Let's be honest.
00:52:13The four legs look like pillars.
00:52:15It's highlighted or exacerbated by the buildings.
00:52:18They just never got a chance to finesse them.
00:52:21But it is a great build.
00:52:22It's the strength of Trent and his amazing characters,
00:52:25which he's so good at.
00:52:27And Al's composition.
00:52:28She understands what makes a great scene.
00:52:31She was very selective about minifigures,
00:52:34about making sure that they're placed for a reason.
00:52:37They're actually doing something.
00:52:38They're adding value to the story.
00:52:40So I do like that a lot.
00:52:41So we're about to have 200 people come through.
00:52:44You can see this being incredibly popular with people.
00:52:48It's a very smart play.
00:52:49Could be a real vote magnet.
00:52:53Well, Brickman,
00:52:55you have a 100-vote decision to make.
00:53:01What are you thinking?
00:53:04Really?
00:53:04I was thinking that too.
00:53:05He was the most important think.
00:53:07Shhh!
00:53:11No!
00:53:15No!
00:53:42The dog and the cat one playing in the city, that's like the best one.
00:53:46It's really creative and it has like a lot going on.
00:53:49I like the dogzilla because I liked how the dog was just sitting and like kind of laying down.
00:53:57I picked the cat and dog because the structure is so amazing and it really looked real and it was
00:54:05just mind-blowing.
00:54:10We voted for the children's imagination.
00:54:14Yeah, it was just like every time you looked at it, there was always something new to look at and
00:54:18it made it just like great.
00:54:20I like the one where all the little Lego figures are trying to take the boy down and it doesn't
00:54:26really look like Lego at all.
00:54:28It doesn't look like one.
00:54:35I love the Gladiator build extremely much.
00:54:39It's really amazing the way the vibrant colours, they pop.
00:54:42It mixes together really well.
00:54:47I'm voting for Athena versus the Hydra because it is really realistic.
00:54:53Absolutely.
00:54:54It's insane.
00:54:55It's so much attention to detail.
00:55:18Welcome to the finale of Lego Mouse's Grand Mouses of the Galaxy.
00:55:27So good to have you guys here.
00:55:31We started with 10 teams at the beginning of this competition.
00:55:34We are now down to the final three and really just Australia versus Sweden.
00:55:41Classic IKEA versus Bunnings battle.
00:55:46Brickman, I want to know just for a moment, what have you loved about the teams this year?
00:55:51All of you have peaked at different points in time and you've taken a bit of time to find your
00:55:56mojo.
00:55:58Henry and Kate, for example, it's like you guys off the pace early but managed to find a way to
00:56:03come back.
00:56:04Trent and Alex, you guys really played to your strengths.
00:56:07You found, you know, characters, bringing the fun and the love, enjoying your builds and that's what worked for you
00:56:13guys.
00:56:14And then team Sweden, you found a way to condense the most incredible stories down into brick form.
00:56:21It was awesome to watch.
00:56:22Well done, everyone.
00:56:23It really was.
00:56:27The votes have been cast.
00:56:29Everyone in this room got one vote.
00:56:31Brickman also cast his 100 votes.
00:56:33It's time to find out.
00:56:35The winner of Lego Masters, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
00:56:39The team that will win $100,000 and, yes, maybe not hoist television's biggest trophy.
00:56:50But certainly interact with it in an excited way.
00:56:58In third place.
00:57:30The winner of Lego Masters, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
00:57:34Team Sweden.
00:57:47The winner of Lego Masters, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
00:58:10And we've got to remember, third in the galaxy to podium in the galaxy is a huge, a huge effort.
00:58:17Brickman, what did you love about these boys?
00:58:19I think from an ideas perspective, out of all of Lego Masters finales, I don't think there's anything as out
00:58:24there and as creative as what you managed to deliver.
00:58:26And you know what?
00:58:27That sums you guys up.
00:58:28Well done.
00:58:29Great team.
00:58:34Last year in Australia versus the world, the world won.
00:58:37America took the trophy off our soil.
00:58:40We now have two Australian teams.
00:58:41So, we don't know which way this is going to go yet, but we know an Australian team has won.
00:58:48The galaxy is ours.
00:58:49The galaxy is ours.
00:58:50Australia triumphantly has the galaxy.
00:58:55The winner of Grand Masters of the Galaxy is Henry and Kate.
00:59:09Yes!
00:59:10Yes!
00:59:12Yes!
00:59:13Oh, my God!
00:59:15Oh, man, we did it!
00:59:31Just because we thought you weren't having an emotional enough week.
00:59:36You have not just won Grand Masters of the Galaxy, but you've become the first ever two-time winners of
00:59:43Lego Masters Season 1 and now Season 7 here in Australia, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
00:59:51I'd just like to thank this guy and his wife for letting him come on the show.
00:59:56My wife, my kids, your kids.
00:59:59Yeah, man.
01:00:00It has been awesome.
01:00:01An absolute honour to be here.
01:00:03Like everybody in this room that's got to enjoy your work, it's been a pleasure to watch you.
01:00:09It's awesome.
01:00:10Thank you, Brittany.
01:00:12It's awesome.
01:00:13Beautiful boys.
01:00:15Alex, Trent, again.
01:00:17This is close.
01:00:18You've been there before, but a huge, huge round of applause for your Bill Goose second place.
01:00:31You delighted and blue minds, young and old, here in the room.
01:00:35We could watch it happening.
01:00:37And you've done that all season.
01:00:38For sure.
01:00:39For us too.
01:00:39So thank you so much.
01:00:40It's just the most fun having you guys on this show.
01:00:44Now, traditionally, as fans of LEGO Masters would know, the hoisting is the moment.
01:00:50But due to O, H and S, and also the limits of what a human being can lift, we can't
01:00:55hoist
01:00:55the trophy, but we do have an idea.
01:00:58Quick, man, if you can't hold this, I just don't break it, hey?
01:01:02Where's this going?
01:01:04Well, why don't we get you guys climbing up?
01:01:07But don't touch it yet, so yeah, just really balance.
01:01:10I mean, when we designed this trophy to be this big and inappropriate, no one thought
01:01:14about this moment.
01:01:17Henry and Cade, here you are, seven years later, doing it all again.
01:01:22You are officially LEGO Masters, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
01:01:26One, two, three.
01:01:26Henry and Cade, here you are.
