After a tough year for tourism operators, there is a new plan to attract visitors to Alice Springs… fly them there, for free. It will cost several million dollars, but the local industry says it will be money well spent.

00:31Tourism Central Australia launching a campaign to finance trips to Alice, part of a $5 million
00:37federal funding injection announced last year.
00:40It's a campaign nationally encouraging Australians to come to Central Australia, we'll throw
00:47in an airfare to Alice Springs, there's a few terms and conditions that they need to tick.
00:52Including that visitors stay for at least two nights and book at least one tourism experience.
00:57In addition, 17 tourism operators to share in $2.5 million to fund new tourism experiences.
