Kellie Gobert from Palatka, Florida, USA recorded the unexpected encounter while packing up her belongings at the Palatka riverside. The footage shows the bold bird perched inside her open handbag, calmly pecking away at food it had found before appearing completely unfazed by her presence.
Rather than flying away immediately, the trusting pigeon continues enjoying its snack.
A user commented: "I used to feed some pigeons too. When they got familiar with me, they would run from wherever they were and sit on my shoulders, head, and hand. If they saw their treats, they would land straight on them."
