00:23ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
00:45Do you want to join us on the sofa?
00:48I miss Great Britain.
00:50I miss the naivety.
00:51I miss imperfection.
00:53I miss the messiness we bathed in and had.
00:55Baron fields before new estates.
00:58Jumpers for goalposts.
00:59Grass-stained knees with your mates.
01:01A G up from the old boys.
01:03The constant heartbreak.
01:05C-facts for the results.
01:06Is it really coming home?
01:07But what I really miss is cops and stow.
01:10Maggots and beckets.
01:12I miss hearing them before seeing them.
01:14I miss the roar before the lights out.
01:16I miss you, Silverstone.
01:18Because it's a nation holding its breath.
01:20The red arrows overhead.
01:22I miss those hot summer days and rain.
01:24I miss the marshal standing out there, whatever the weather.
01:27Us crowding around the box to watch four-wheeled heroes get mobbed.
01:31Bacon sarnies at six in the morning, squeezing your sibling's hand when it all goes wrong.
01:36I miss tears with me mum.
01:39Those are the special ones.
01:41I miss...
01:42Through goes Hamilton!
01:44I miss sat-navs before sat-navs.
01:46Just following cars and a map.
01:49I miss Murray screaming...
01:50Go, go, go!
01:51...and all that.
01:52Look at the state of that Mercedes car!
01:54And somehow, he brought it home.
01:56Three tyres, that's all he needed.
01:58Lewis back on his throne.
02:00I miss cucumber sandwiches and crisps with your brother and your sister.
02:04Thermos flasks, sunburned blisters.
02:06Someone always saying, we'll never see that again.
02:09Let's not forget Damon and Diana.
02:12I miss saying we'll beat the traffic and sit in there for hours.
02:15I miss fetch us a brew, milk on one.
02:17I miss pretending being on our best behaviour.
02:20The first, yeah, you know the ones.
02:22It's hope, believing, heartbreak.
02:24And no matter how it gets done, you always come back.
02:28We call you home.
02:30We miss you.
02:31You silverstone.
02:35It's a crown jewel.
02:36An appointment to view a date etched into the consciousness.
02:40The British Grand Prix is Lewis Hamilton's home.
02:43The master is back and in fine form.
02:45He took pole for the sprint and is now looking to do the same in qualifying for tomorrow's race.
02:50He was pipped to the post by Kimi Antonelli earlier,
02:53but hoping to make amends as we reset for the main event.
02:57We are live.
02:59We're under blue skies above Silverstone and one hour away from qualifying for the British Grand Prix.
03:09Good afternoon, everybody.
03:11I hope you enjoyed the appetiser.
03:14It's been some weekend already.
03:16Lewis Hamilton is going for his 10th victory at the British Grand Prix.
03:20As I mentioned there, he was beaten by a couple of seconds in the sprint by Kimi Antonelli,
03:25but he did take pole position for that and hoping to do the same in qualifying for the British Grand
03:31Prix.
03:31Martin Brundle, Naomi Schiff and Jenson Button alongside me.
03:35Here we go then.
03:35I think there's real energy, isn't there, to Silverstone this year.
03:39There's hardly a square metre that hasn't got somebody on it.
03:42Yeah.
03:42It's incredible.
03:43I've never seen the place so full, so vibrant, so happy and the sun shining.
03:48We've got peak Silverstone and peak F1 going on.
03:51I mean, it really is, isn't it?
03:52It's a date, as we know, in the British Summertime Diary, and it is, I mean, it's busier than it's
03:58ever been before.
03:59As you say, full house absolutely every day.
04:01Almost 600,000, they reckon, this weekend.
04:03Yeah, it's crazy to think over this weekend we have over half a million fans coming to see the sport,
04:08but it kind of makes sense because this is the home of British motorsport.
04:11We know that a lot of these teams up and down this pit lane are based here in the UK,
04:14and so it feels like coming home for everyone, really, even if you're British or not.
04:18Five British drivers as well.
04:20I know.
04:20It's exciting, isn't it?
04:21We've got the drivers that have been around and won multiple world championships, Lewis Hamilton.
04:27We've got Lando Norris, George Russell, and then we've got two youngsters, which is exciting, the future of the sport.
04:32It really is.
04:33One of Lewis so far this weekend, as we're saying, as far as the Ferrari story is concerned,
04:40it's totally flipped around from last year, Martin.
04:43Yeah, and he's smiling, he's effusive, he loves these cars, he's back on form,
04:48and obviously he loves coming here as well, where he's won nine times, but the car's talking to him.
04:54He understands the team better, they understand him, and he's carried the form on now.
04:59And he managed to, you know, sneak a pole position in against some mighty Mercedes yesterday with a tremendous lap
05:07as well.
05:08Can he do it again today?
05:10In the race, it's a little bit more of a challenge, but he's on fine form in that Ferrari.
05:15Gentlemen, what is it about this generation of cars that suits him more than the ground effect ones?
05:21Lewis is a feisty driver, and he likes front grip, and he can drive like that.
05:27He can drive dancing the car around through corners, getting over to an exit.
05:30It doesn't faze him.
05:32When we watched his sprint qualifying lap coming out of the second to last corner,
05:35he's drifting the car because he's so confident to get on the throttle that early.
05:40So it does suit him a lot better than the previous ground effects cars.
05:43We were discussing this, weren't we, after the sprint?
05:46I mean, there are certain drivers, and, you know, understandably, perhaps it's the best drivers on the grid
05:50that just seem comfortable with the rear moving around more than others.
05:53I mean, it requires a lot of car control, but, you know, I think when we see those images of
05:58Lewis,
05:58he's also got that beaming smile back on his face, and I think that a happy Lewis has always been
06:02a quick Lewis,
06:02but we talked about it earlier today in the fact that he made a big change going over to Ferrari,
06:07a big cultural change, and it was going to take some time for him to get up to speed with
06:11the way that they operate,
06:11but also for them to take time to build that car, and maybe a little bit more to the way
06:15he likes it.
06:16So he's clearly happier. The body language is right there where it needs to be,
06:19and I think he's going to give them another hard time in this qualifying session.
06:22Well, this is the guy behind us that he needs to be.
06:25He's pointing at you, Martin, for a reason.
06:28But, I mean, again, just further evidence of the talent of this guy.
06:32He's going to get prodigious, just like Max and just like Lewis.
06:35Absolutely. I mean, and there he is, wheel to wheel with Lewis Hamilton.
06:40Comes out on top, used his head, put Lewis a little bit out of position.
06:44Lewis had to boost, keep the lead, and then Kimi just waited for the back straight where he could breeze
06:50past him
06:50and then build his own lead like that.
06:53So that's a maturity now that's way beyond his years.
06:57He's a little bit wild from time to time.
06:58We saw it in Austria on the first lap again last weekend, but he's surviving those
07:03and then just settles down with some incredible pace, especially in the second half of a tyre stint.
07:09And he is absolutely, unquestionably the man to beat for this year's world championship.
07:14I think it was interesting hearing Bono on the radio after the race saying, you know,
07:17you kept it calm the whole way through.
07:20It's obviously something they've talked about beforehand, but if he can do that, it's going to be, you know, formidable.
07:26It's raw, isn't it?
07:27The pace is raw and it's just there for everyone to see at most racetracks now.
07:32Yeah, and we, I mean, not necessarily we, but I think when he came into F1, we all wondered whether,
07:37you know, maybe Toto was bringing him into Formula One slightly prematurely,
07:41having fast-forwarded him in his junior career.
07:43And last year was a challenging year for him, but as you say, he's not lacking any raw speed.
07:47That's not his problem.
07:48It's how to rein him in, how to make sure he doesn't make too many mistakes.
07:51And, you know, just, he's learning what he's doing.
07:54You know, he's 19 years old, but what a wonderful story for Formula One to have a young, potential champion.
08:00It really is.
08:01So Kimi Antonelli, the winner of the sprint, in case you couldn't enjoy it with us earlier, let's recap it.
08:07I am so happy.
08:09So, so happy.
08:11I'll give it absolutely everything for these fans.
08:13Lewis Hamilton's on pole, it's lights out, and away we go, and Hamilton gets away well.
08:19And Lando Norris up in the third place with George Russell on the inside, and Oscar Piastrigas-Vestappen has already
08:25lost three places.
08:26And this is a great battle going on between Antonelli and Norris, and Norris has won that battle.
08:31It's Brit 1, Brit 2 at the moment.
08:33George Russell trying to go around the outside of Oscar Piastrigas-Vestappen, and Stoen Russell looks like he's made that
08:38move.
08:39Wow, what a great first lap.
08:41He's got two McLarens in the space of two corners.
08:45George Russell's on the charge.
08:46George Russell, absolutely brilliant.
08:50Antonelli just beginning to close on Lewis Hamilton.
08:54Here goes Kimi Antonelli.
08:57He's flying past him.
08:59He's got no power.
09:00And he has blasted his way past the Ferrari and into the lead.
09:04Kimi Antonelli wins the Silverstone sprint.
09:08Let's go.
09:09Let's go.
09:10In control all the way.
09:15Yes, he really was, wasn't he?
09:16First ever sprint race victory.
09:18Youngest ever sprint winner adds to that, to his existing F1 age records.
09:23The youngest ever Grand Prix pole sitter, race leader and championship leader.
09:28He really is going great guns.
09:30It's Kimi Antonelli in his second season in Formula 1 and ahead of the man who's won the most around
09:35here.
09:36Nine times, as Martin was saying, for Lewis Hamilton, but 2.7 seconds behind.
09:39Then there was a battle behind Lando Norris at the front of those and keeping George Russell behind him.
09:45Charles Leclerc finishing fifth and pounce.
09:48The points rounded off with Max Verstappen, Oscar Piastri and Liam Lawson had an incident with Isaac Hadjar.
09:54Went to the stewards, but all was well.
09:56And he retained that.
09:58The only thing it reflected was the top of the drivers.
10:03Kimi extending his lead at his 40 at the start of the day to 43 over his teammate.
10:07Lewis closing to within four of his former teammate and 47 ahead of Lando Norris.
10:13Charles Leclerc above Oscar Piastri.
10:18Further down, just keeping an eye on the other two Brits.
10:20Oli Behrman, as we were saying, 18 points.
10:22A good start to the season.
10:23Tailed off a little bit since, but that's the form of the Haas car underneath him.
10:27Marvin Limblad, though, within four of him and becomes the first British teenager to take part in the British Grand
10:34Prix.
10:36Constructors, Mercedes, 100 clear of Ferrari.
10:39Then 48 to McLaren, 49 from them to Red Bull.
10:42Alpine at the front of the chasing pack.
10:46But that's the kind of B championship, if you like, with racing balls.
10:5012 behind them, behind the top four.
10:53Right, let's hear from the winner.
10:54Here is Kimi Antedeli.
10:55What he had to say following that victory?
10:58Kimi, obviously great for you to win again.
11:01Also having that kind of battle with Luis, being able to overtake.
11:06But also what happened at the start.
11:08How much do you learn from those kind of encounters?
11:11Yeah, it was a great battle.
11:14You know, the start.
11:15I think Luis showed all his experience.
11:19You know, I got the momentum, but I was quite well alongside.
11:24But it put me in a position where I either back off or, you know, we crashed.
11:28So I decided to, you know, take it easy.
11:32But it was the most reasonable and probably the smartest thing to do.
11:38So definitely, you know, I did really well to cover there.
11:42And we were pushing, we were pushing.
11:44But then once I got into overtake, you know, I had a bit of extra energy and I was able
11:49to close.
11:50And, yeah, it was a pretty flat-out race, but a lot of fun.
11:54Well done.
11:54Thank you.
11:57Jesse, we were just talking to Kimi's mechanics behind there.
12:00It's obviously they're not going to change much because they know that they've got a car that can win and
12:04qualify well.
12:07What about the George, 10 seconds behind his teammate?
12:10Does he go down the same setup as Kimi or because they're so different in styles, will that vary as
12:16well?
12:16I think for someone like George, who drives quite differently to Kimi, you'd need to go somewhere different with a
12:22setup.
12:23You know, I've known Bono for many years.
12:25We worked together, Kimi's engineer.
12:27And that rapport, I think, is really impressive considering there's such a young relationship.
12:31George and his engineer, I don't know so much.
12:33But also, George in the race, we don't know his true pace.
12:36He was in traffic a lot of the time and it's not so easy to overtake.
12:39And I think that cost him quite a bit.
12:40So there'll be tweaks there for him.
12:44But there might be for Kimi as well.
12:45He might be able to go even quicker.
12:47George has never finished on the podium here.
12:49I think his best result is fifth.
12:50He has started from pole position back in 2024.
12:53But what's going through his mind at the moment?
12:56He has closed the gap within 28 points from Monaco to down to 40 and then extended it again after
13:03that sprint.
13:03But, yeah, how does he dress this?
13:07You'll hear George quite often say, I've got confidence in myself.
13:11I know what I've got to do.
13:12And it's frustrating for him because he's waited for this moment.
13:14And did his time at Williams, joined Mercedes just as they stopped dominating.
13:19Here they are with the best car in the field consistently over a number of races.
13:23And this teenager turns up and steals all the limelight.
13:27So George has got to just keep his head and find a better way with the set-up.
13:32He's surviving on his experience and his naus.
13:35He's not surviving on the raw speed.
13:38So he's got to find some time somewhere, especially in the longer stints.
13:43And I think he's struggling to do that.
13:46Otherwise, you know, here we are.
13:47We're over a third of the way through this season already.
13:51And he hasn't found an answer yet.
13:54Yeah, he needs to do it quick.
13:55Yeah, only two victories under his belt this season so far, which I think we all would have anticipated there
13:59would have been more for George.
14:00He is the senior driver in this team after all.
14:02And he's spent many, many years in Formula One and gained a lot more experience than Kimi has at his
14:07young age.
14:07So it's taken us all by surprise.
14:09And I think that, you know, unfortunately for him in Austria, he had a victory.
14:13And we thought that that would maybe give him the boost that he needed, you know, in terms of getting
14:17the momentum behind him.
14:18But this weekend, it's turned back around again.
14:21And unfortunately, he needs that momentum to last just a bit longer for it to have effects because this inter
14:26-team battle is just heating up.
14:28No one will work harder than George if he's got the dollar.
14:31No, I agree. He's a very hard worker.
14:33He has engineering meetings about engineering meetings.
14:35You know, he's very focused.
14:37Sometimes when you're looking too deep into it, it can hurt your head a little bit.
14:41But no, he'll find his way out of this.
14:44He's extremely talented.
14:45He's extremely quick.
14:46It's just not where he needs it to be, the car at the moment.
14:51There are 368 points still available as we're standing here.
14:55And it's doable for him.
14:56But, you know, if Kimi gets 50 ahead, say, by tomorrow evening, that's the equivalent of two Grand Prix victories.
15:03And George has then got to play catch-up to a young driver who's really finding his way, as we
15:09mentioned, in the same car.
15:11But that's a tall order, as we go towards the summer break.
15:15It would be a hammer blow, though, wouldn't it?
15:17You know, if he comes in, Kimi, and he wins the British Grand Prix, which George has, you know, wanted
15:22to do for, since he, I should imagine, was knee-high to a grasshopper.
15:25But, you know, that's going to be a hammer blow, too, isn't it?
15:28It's certainly going to hurt.
15:29I think that he probably won't admit to that because he'll say that he'll just take points wherever he can
15:33take them, regardless of what Grand Prix it is.
15:35And that, I think, is George's mindset.
15:36He's not just thinking about one single race, one single, you know, battle on track.
15:40It's about the long haul of points.
15:42And that's the way he goes racing.
15:44But it's going to go as a simple race.
15:47Whether he wins the World Championship.
15:49If he wins the World Championship, he's not really going to care.
15:51But if he doesn't, yeah, he will.
15:52Okay, let's have a look at that incident I mentioned between Liam Lawson and Isaac Hadjar from the sprint.
15:58This one went to the stewards.
15:59Jensen, you thought it would be a penalty.
16:01It wasn't.
16:02It was just a warning.
16:03It was, yeah.
16:04Obviously, they have different angles than what I had.
16:08But, yeah, it looked quite aggressive.
16:10It's such a high-speed place.
16:11And also, because he had brakes for the corner, from what we see, it's strange that there wasn't a penalty.
16:21Yeah, lucky to get away with that one, do you think?
16:23I didn't call it as a penalty in common sense.
16:25I don't need to see it again because they've got different battery deployments.
16:29He did leave some space on the inside.
16:32And he was taking the racing line.
16:35But he's left a car's width on the inside just about.
16:38And if you read the report, Hadjar, the injured party on the inside, said, I don't think this warrants a
16:47penalty.
16:48Of course, they are both driving for Red Bull teams.
16:50We have to remember that.
16:51But, no, I think a warning.
16:53I think the warning is fair enough on that.
16:55Well, you know, he was taking the corner.
16:58He wasn't in a braking zone, diving across the racetrack.
17:02Very early turning, Martin.
17:04It was, yeah.
17:05He was trying to squeeze the gap.
17:07It was iffy, but I think when I read the report, that feels about right, in my opinion.
17:14Red Bull.
17:16Yeah, let's talk about Red Bull.
17:17Because Max, as I said, he was about a second off in practice.
17:20Closed that to within three tenths and started the sprint from third but dropped away.
17:25Didn't he down to, where did he finish?
17:27Sixth in the end.
17:28That Red Bull, not to his liking.
17:31Just too slow, is what he said.
17:33Well, as you say, yesterday they managed to close a big gap between free practice and the sprint qualifying.
17:38So, I think that that will give them a little bit of optimism.
17:40We've seen them, especially last year, very often make big gains overnight.
17:44And, of course, after yesterday's afternoon, they were in park for May conditions.
17:47That's changed now.
17:49They can now make some changes.
17:50So, who knows if they will close it up a little bit.
17:52But they did have a bit of pace.
17:54He was in the battle here and there during the race.
17:56But it's their start, I think, which is the biggest concern.
17:58I mean, he lost multiple positions on the start.
18:00Yeah, he really did.
18:01But Red Bull being Red Bull, you've seen it so often, haven't we, Martin?
18:04In sprint weekends, you've got two park fermés.
18:07They can take them out now.
18:08They're working on the cars.
18:09They're very good at adjusting.
18:11They are.
18:12And Max knows what he's looking for.
18:13The team know what Max needs.
18:16They were all pretty trick-happy on the battery, weren't they, for the first few laps.
18:20And the sky-raised control told me that it was Perez who ran into the back of Alonso in turn
18:28three down there at Farm Corner.
18:30It took me seven laps before I could find a gap to say that in the commentary.
18:35That is how wild those first few laps were.
18:38I mean, yes, it's yo-yo, but it's so entertaining, isn't it, at the start?
18:41Amazing.
18:42I know that that was a great race, the sprint race.
18:44So much fighting with, you know, drivers that a lot of them have won Grand Prix before.
18:49Fighting it out, dueling it out.
18:51That's what it's all about.
18:51Can they turn around?
18:52Do you feel that Red Bull could be a feature if they get it right now?
18:56Well, it might still be a bit of a tall order.
18:58And yesterday we saw the gaps being very, very close, obviously, from Max onwards.
19:03He was only three tenths behind, but then just behind him, down to ninth place, there was only two tenths.
19:08So it could very much be anyone's game in the rest of those top ten.
19:12You know, I think they'll be hoping they can make a bit of a difference.
19:15But they've got power.
19:16They've got some power.
19:17Absolutely.
19:17They are the best engine, apparently, according to the ADUOs.
19:21The classic cars are out behind us.
19:23I think that might have been the MP44 that just went past us on the main straight.
19:27Full programme of events here, apart from the F1, F1, F2, F3, and F1 Academy.
19:33We'll focus on the Academy when we come back.
19:37Coming up on Sky Sports F1.
19:40We are here at Silverstone Circuit with the F1 Academy for our second test of the season.
19:45And it's a two-day test in preparation for our race at the Silverstone Grand Prix later on in July.
19:51It's my first time on track, but I'm always looking forward to learning new tracks and getting experience.
20:06Welcome back.
20:0845 minutes to go until the start of qualifying.
20:11Lando's stand is full to bursting already.
20:13Now, back in May, a test for the F1 Academy as they prepared for today at Silverstone.
20:28We are here at Silverstone Circuit with the F1 Academy for our second test of the season.
20:34We have all 16s here, all drivers are out.
20:37And it's a two-day test in preparation for our race at the Silverstone Grand Prix later on in July.
20:43It's an opportunity for all of us drivers to learn the circuits incredibly well, do many, many laps, gather lots
20:49of data for the teams as well, so we can test and trial different car balances.
20:52It's all just about data gathering, really, and gaining confidence and finding the ultimate lap time ahead of the race
20:57weekend.
20:58Both days are split into two sessions, morning and afternoon, so it's kind of down to the team, how each
21:04team and driver wants to do their schedule.
21:08So, normally, on the testing days, we have an open pit lane, so we decide when to go, we don't
21:13need to go all together, it's not mandatory, like a session on the race weekend, and we have open pit
21:17lane for six hours.
21:19It's my first time on track, I think the majority has been here already, but I'm always looking forward to
21:25learning new tracks and getting experience.
21:28We do focus on everything, we do, like, FP, Quali, race simulation, racing together, racing just by myself.
21:39You can use your tyres however you like, so we used three yesterday and we got two today.
21:44So, yeah, we always have a run plan of things maybe that we want to try.
21:50In these tests, it matters most for the drivers to get kind of up to speed in the car and
21:55the team to work together with the driver to get the best setup they can.
22:00But even so, on the race weekend, all the rubber, the F1 cars laid down, it all changes.
22:05Some people do dual championships and other testing programmes, but it's really important to have these tests before the actual
22:11race because you get to drive the actual academy car.
22:16So, it's Anna Stevens' rookie year in F1 academies, there's a lot for her to learn, first time properly round
22:22Silverstone in a race car, so for her it's just to try and learn as much as possible and I'm
22:28here to help that.
22:29We have very limited track time throughout the year, you know, motorsport is a sport that you can't easily train,
22:35you can't easily get these cars to the circuit.
22:38Really positive start to the day so far, it's been quite difficult today with the weather, it's been quite greasy
22:43conditions this morning.
22:45With weather conditions changing, depending on how many red flags we have, it kind of can change a run plan.
22:51You know, there's always time to find, so I think as long as we've improved over the test and we've
22:57chipped away, I think that's the main thing.
22:59Deep reefs are really important, you know, we're racing for a driver's championship, but we're also racing for the team's
23:04championship, so, you know, working collectively.
23:07It's the most important part out of the track because it helps a lot, you know, if you have a
23:12really good relationship with your engineer to improve on the track, to improve the car, to have a really good
23:19feedback, how you're feeling in the car, how is the track.
23:22Feedback that we give to the engineers is critical because that obviously determines what direction they go in terms of
23:28car balance, run plan, to make sure that not only the feedback that I give, but the feedback that my
23:33teammates also give.
23:34We're all aligned so that we can all head in the right direction as a team.
23:38I think it's really nice to be with a F1 team. They gave a lot of things for us, so
23:43we can be in the sim, in the factory in Red Bull, so it's really good, really useful.
23:50To have the support of Red Bull Racing is a dream come true. It's absolutely incredible. I mean, the support
23:55network that they provide me, I get equal treatment to, you know, what the F2 Red Bull Juniors get effectively.
24:01So the simulator preparation that I can do ahead of an event, the amount that I've learnt in the last
24:0612, 18 months being with Red Bull is more than I've learnt in the last 10 years of my career.
24:11To be backed by a McLaren is amazing. It's obviously a very prestigious team. They've had so many achievements in
24:17their time, so it's amazing to be part of the driver development programme.
24:20To race at a home Grand Prix is going to be really special. I mean, my passion for motorsport was
24:25unlocked here at Silverstone, so it really will be a dream come true.
24:32Yeah, two rounds down, third one here and four to go, including Zandvoort, Ospin and Fagan.
24:38Race one is from 6 o'clock this evening here on Sky Sports F1. It's a great story as well,
24:44but before I tell you about that and ask the guys, let's have a quick look at the drivers, how
24:48it stands.
24:49And it is a Brit at the top of the pile in Alicia Palmaski. She starts from second today in
24:55that first race.
24:56The other Brits in there, Megan Bruce in third and Ella Lloyd down in eighth.
25:02Emma Felbermeyer is 25 points behind Palmaski.
25:06However, Chiara Batik, this is an unbelievable story, Naomi.
25:11A wild card entrance from British Formula 4 and she's come in here, she's 16 years away.
25:17She didn't qualify because she was too young.
25:19And then so they give her a wild card now that she is old enough and she's on pole position.
25:23Yeah, Chiara Batik, I mean, look, incredible from her to come, you know, and steal the show from everybody else.
25:28But you have to say she's racing in a British F4, so she's been getting used to these types of
25:33cars and obviously maybe even raced at the circuit already this season.
25:36But she is a Red Bull junior and, you know, Red Bull have a very good, diligent junior program and
25:41they're just proving that they're bringing talent, whether that's female or male.
25:44Yeah, why the testing is so important. But I mean, what a story.
25:47Absolutely amazing, isn't it? And, you know, I remember being in the British Touring Car Championship and then British Formula
25:533 Championship.
25:53If you could get on the bill for the Grand Prix weekend, it was massive for you, your team, your
26:00sponsors and to meet people in Formula 1.
26:03And then Ken Tyrrell saw me in a Formula 3 race in Austria and that's how I got into Formula
26:091.
26:10So it's great that the Formula Academy are here again this weekend on the Formula 1 bill and this is
26:15a mighty track and a mighty crowd to do it in front of.
26:18Just talking about the 16-year-old, this is probably the first time she's ever driven in front of a
26:22crowd as well.
26:24You know, to see how many people are here, it must be a lot of pressure, but she's obviously put
26:28the visor down, gone out, done the job.
26:30But we'll see what she can do in the race because that's when the pressure builds, when those lights go
26:33out and you see all of the fans around you.
26:36So what an amazing experience.
26:37It is. Like F1, there's five Brits on the grid and one of those is leading the way.
26:43There's something about this British, you know, the United Kingdom and the drivers that they breed.
26:47I don't know what it is. Is it the weather? Is it just the support that they get from the
26:50teams and, you know, Motorsport UK?
26:52I don't know what it is.
26:53We're just fast.
26:54Yeah, well, you know, pipe down, pipe down.
26:56The Belgians have some talent as well. You know, you've got Landon Norris, Max Verstappen, you know, the list goes
27:00on and on and on.
27:02Not that many.
27:03You can count it as Belgian.
27:04Yeah, and Max too. We're claiming them all. And Lance Stroll too.
27:08So anyway, what was your question again, Simon?
27:10I don't know. I've forgotten. You've gone off-piste.
27:14British drivers in Formula One.
27:15Yeah, British drivers. I mean, look, but honestly, let's not just shine the light on the British drivers.
27:19There are five of them, but it's just great. As Martin was saying, it's for these young girls, it's so
27:23important to get opportunities, parity in the sport.
27:26And the eyeballs make all the difference.
27:28And people always wonder how they can help young girls with their dreams to become racing drivers.
27:32And F1 Academy very much exists to, you know, address some of the issues that young girls face in the
27:37pipeline to getting to the top of their dreams.
27:39But for people at home, the most important thing that they can do is just tune in and watch the
27:43race because the numbers don't lie.
27:45And as long as you can prove that there's a viable pathway and a profitable business, actually, for F1 Academy,
27:50then that will keep these girls in cars.
27:52I mean, this is, we're biased, obviously, but we think this is probably the best track on the calendar.
27:57How difficult is it to learn, Silverstone?
28:01It's wide and it's long. Fifth longest circuit on the calendar.
28:06But I think because it's so wide and so fast in places and breezy, and not many people know it
28:13when it's dry and warm.
28:15We don't even know it when it's raining sideways and freezing cold.
28:18But you know what? As I always say to any young driver, all tracks are straights, lefts and rights.
28:24It's not more complicated than that, so don't overcomplicate it.
28:28Yeah, the thing, sorry, Karen Martin.
28:29Oh, I've delivered the genius.
28:32Oh, yeah, you have delivered the genius.
28:34I did notice, though, through the junior formula, this felt like a really slow track because it's so wide and
28:40open.
28:40And then you jump in an F1 car.
28:42Yeah.
28:42And it's just amazing.
28:44You need a calendar for the really junior racing, don't you? Not a stopwatch.
28:48Yeah, yeah, and then cops, maggots, beckets in an F1 car.
28:52You remember, right?
28:53I do, yeah, I do, yeah.
28:54It was good, isn't it?
28:55Great circuit, though.
28:56Why are you being so rude?
28:58Jason.
28:59The wind, the breeze, though, actually talking about it, I mean, we've, all weekend, it's always windy here.
29:04It's an old airfield, as we often say.
29:06But with all these different types of cars, it's the same effect, isn't it?
29:10You need a little bit of luck around Silverstone, not to get the gusts at the wrong time.
29:43You do.
29:44The pit lane, actually, when it was off the car, it is windy out there, but it's like a big
29:49sail at that point.
29:51So, yeah, whatever you're in, you're going to, as it's a perimeter track, effectively, clockwise, you are going to have
29:58a headwind, a tailwind, and a crosswind on a number of occasions on any given lap.
30:02So, yeah, so you have to, you have to balance it out.
30:05Right.
30:05Anyone for fish and chips?
30:09I love fish and chips.
30:11Everyone here wants you guys to be on the podium on Sunday.
30:14Yeah, no, guys.
30:15Yeah?
30:16And they don't care what order at all.
30:18Well, I care.
30:19Do you?
30:19I care, yeah.
30:21He got it last year, so you can...
30:23I might give George a go this year.
30:25Yeah, let me have a go.
30:25He might have a little.
30:27Yeah, but then he'd have to have his own grandstand the year after, wouldn't he?
30:29Yeah, exactly.
30:30No, because I had it before I won.
30:31Good old fish and chips.
30:33Hi.
30:42Welcome back.
30:43Half an hour to go until the start of qualifying for the British Grand Prix.
30:47And as I mentioned before the break, five British drivers on the grid, and four of them on Thursday were
30:53hungry.
30:53So, Crofty and I treated them.
31:01I've loved fish and chips since I was a kid.
31:05Every Friday night for years, that's what people did.
31:09The British Grand Prix in the summertime, what could be more perfect?
31:13We have the best fans in the world.
31:16We have the best track in the world, we have the best drivers in the world, and let's face it,
31:20fish and chips.
31:21Quintessentially, you're British, cooked to perfection by experts.
31:26Simon Lazenby.
31:27Hello.
31:28Welcome to Lazenby's Fish and Chips.
31:30I've got fish, Crofty.
31:31And I've got a bucket of chips.
31:33I've got four British drivers coming along.
31:35Here we go.
31:36Guys, I'll go over this time.
31:38I've been queuing up since five, will you get a move on?
31:41I'm a little bit hungry.
31:42What do you want?
31:42What do you want?
31:43Fish, chips, peas, gravy.
31:45You hate fish, right?
31:46Yeah.
31:47So, you could perhaps be in charge of sausages.
31:50Are you happy to batter?
31:51I'm happy to batter, yeah.
31:53Right, okay.
31:54We want lunch!
31:56We want lunch!
31:57We want lunch!
31:58That's it.
32:00Beautiful.
32:01Champy.
32:03Look at that.
32:04Round of applause.
32:05He's done his first fish, ladies and gentlemen.
32:08He's done his first fish.
32:10Lando's going to attempt the sausage now.
32:12I mean that in the best possible way.
32:14Are you sure you're willing to...
32:15Yeah, it's okay.
32:16Whoa.
32:16All of them?
32:17Yeah.
32:18We are an enemy.
32:18Oh, right.
32:19Excellent job.
32:20Six sausages are in.
32:22That's right, okay.
32:23Say hello, Colin.
32:26Put it in.
32:26Just chuck it in.
32:27Put it in.
32:27Turn it over.
32:28What about the sausage?
32:30Oh, you did it.
32:30Are we meant to drop it?
32:32No, leg.
32:33Grofty's getting them already.
32:34He's calming, he's calming.
32:35Thank you.
32:35We've finished in 6 a.m.
32:37Have some patience, all right?
32:38We're working on it.
32:39Everyone here wants you guys to be on the podium on Sunday.
32:43Yeah.
32:44And they don't care what order at all.
32:46Well, I care.
32:47Do you?
32:47I care, yeah.
32:49He got it last year, so you can...
32:51I might give George a go this year.
32:52Yeah, let me...
32:53He might have a...
32:54He might have a little...
32:55Yeah, but then he'd have to have his own grandstand the year after, wouldn't he?
32:57Yeah, exactly.
32:58No, because I had it before I won.
33:00This is great that you two are doing fish and chips, because officially, you two should
33:03just, like, have Saturday jobs at your age, not be racing drivers, right?
33:06Well, I should be in uni.
33:07You should be in uni.
33:09Yeah.
33:09So should I.
33:10Now, what went wrong?
33:11What went wrong, boys?
33:12I don't know.
33:12My mum's asking the same question.
33:15Did you see the car that he drove into the track with today?
33:18No.
33:18The Ferrari Dino.
33:19The Ferrari Dino.
33:21So cool, yeah.
33:22That's quite...
33:22That's quite impressive.
33:23It was a bit of a challenge to drive, though.
33:25Was it...
33:25Why?
33:25Three pedals.
33:28When you look out from your fish and chip van, look at all these people.
33:31Yeah, I know.
33:31Just a fraction of the fans that have come to see you guys.
33:36Makes you feel kind of good.
33:37I think they're just hungry, to be honest.
33:39But, I mean, it is taking a while, Lazerby.
33:41Yeah, one minute on the cod.
33:42One minute on the cod.
33:43One minute on the cod.
33:43All right.
33:43There we go.
33:44How many of them?
33:45All of them.
33:45Get them all in.
33:46Get them all in.
33:47Get them all out.
33:48Right.
33:49Come on, mate.
33:51Can you shake some of the fat off as well, George?
33:53How many chips do we want?
33:54Well, load them up.
33:56They're for crofties, so quite a lot.
33:57Yeah.
33:58Crofty-sized portion.
33:59Presentation time.
34:01Mushy, please.
34:01Go in there.
34:02Careful, mate.
34:03Sorry, buddy.
34:04What's that?
34:04It's my shoes.
34:05Oh, God.
34:06Sorry, buddy.
34:06I meant we need the fish.
34:07Are we ready?
34:08We ready on the fish?
34:09Free hot.
34:10That is free hot.
34:11Get off.
34:12Get off.
34:13Easy.
34:15Does it have to dry a bit first?
34:16Just tuck it off.
34:17Tuck it off.
34:18Then rest it up there to rest.
34:19Oh, okay.
34:20Fish on top.
34:21Look at that.
34:22That looks pretty decent.
34:23Do you do vinegar, salt, or salt, vinegar?
34:26Vinegar, salt?
34:27No, salt and vinegar.
34:28Well, but then the salt runs off.
34:29Yeah, and comes off the fish before you put the vinegar on.
34:32Vinegar and salt.
34:32Don't worry.
34:33Vinegar and salt.
34:33That, George, is the correct answer.
34:35Is it?
34:35Yeah.
34:36Oh, but don't slip on the chips.
34:37Come on.
34:37We need more chips.
34:38A few more chips in there.
34:40Lots of scram.
34:40Beautiful.
34:41We've got some hungry people out there.
34:42That sausage looks good.
34:44All right, try the fish.
34:45I'm going to try the...
34:46I'm going to put it really, really hot.
34:48It's literally coming straight out of you.
34:51I'm burning my mouth.
34:53The only thing is it'll burn his tongue.
34:54He might not be able to shout as much this one.
34:56Yeah.
34:56That ain't going to happen.
34:57Yeah.
34:58I'll give Crofty Arvid one.
34:59Yeah, this is his third already.
35:01Look how beautiful that looks.
35:03Right.
35:04Lando's sausage is coming and I'm going to pass this round.
35:06We're going to put the sausage on there.
35:08Thank you, George.
35:09There we go.
35:10What do we reckon, guys, for Oli and Arvid's fish and chip van?
35:13Yeah?
35:16Yeah?
35:16Would you buy your British Grand Prix lunch here?
35:20Yeah!
35:21Yeah!
35:21If the Formula One career fails, boys, you've got a Saturday and a Sunday job for life.
35:25Give it up for George and Lando!
35:30Give it up, please.
35:31Bravo and Limblad.
35:32How are you doing?
35:34We're so offended about the cod comments.
35:37We're close to business.
35:38Good old fishing.
35:40Don't forget the big old onion stew.
35:42Good old fish and chips.
35:44Hi.
35:47How many portions did you get through?
35:48Uh, three.
35:49Uh, but we realize you are the cod father, Simon Lazenberg.
35:52Beautiful.
35:53I do have, uh, some experience in catering anyway.
35:56I was, uh, for a long time at Guildford KFC.
35:58So, uh...
35:58Is it still open?
35:59I felt at home in front of those deep fat fryers, I have to say.
36:02Uh, good form though, weren't they?
36:04I mean, the guys have been...
36:05Let's talk about the other two that we perhaps haven't considered so far
36:08in the form of Arvid Limblad and Oli Pem.
36:12For Limblad, I mean, what an experience this is going to be
36:14as a rookie, first British teenager, as I say, at British Grand Prix.
36:18It's incredible.
36:19He can't drive on the British roads
36:21because he hasn't passed his driving test yet,
36:23but he can go and race around this best of British track,
36:25and has looked really competitive in a racing bulls
36:28that I think is a very decent car at the moment.
36:31Um, he's a fine guy, Arvid Limblad.
36:34Um, and if we could turn it on to something
36:35a little bit more serious, uh, for a while.
36:38Um, Arvid grew up racing.
36:39Uh, Oli Behrman did as well, uh,
36:41with a young gentleman called Will McIntyre.
36:43Now, I know you all know Will McIntyre really well,
36:45and we want to send a big shout-out
36:47and lots of love to Will today.
36:49GB3, uh, driver, uh, has won races here at Silverstone.
36:53Uh, he won, uh, in GB3, and had an accident, uh, last year.
36:58Went to get checked out after the accident,
37:00and they saw something on his brain that they didn't like.
37:04And he went from Milton Keynes General Hospital to Addenbrooke's,
37:08uh, with the help, this, uh, this is Will, uh, right there.
37:11Uh, with the help of, uh, Jonathan Palmer and Professor Peter Hutchinson,
37:15who's the, the medical delegate here at Silverstone this weekend.
37:18Uh, I've known Will, uh, for, for a while now, and he's, uh, uh, I go and see him quite
37:22often.
37:23And he has been in and out of hospital for over a year now,
37:26because it wasn't, uh, a tumour that we first thought on his brain.
37:29It was something called XLP, and he's got XLP1, which affects somewhere in the region of 12 people worldwide.
37:37And it's, is a, a condition that is gonna require a bone marrow transplant.
37:41And he has literally been fighting off track for his life now, for the last year.
37:46And he's back at home at the moment, and, and he's recovering, and he's doing well.
37:49But he needs that bone marrow transplant.
37:51And the world of motorsport has really come to the fore to help Will.
37:55I know the Grand Prix Trust has been helping Will and the family.
37:58Uh, they're trying to raise money, as well, for a new iMRI scanner at Addenbrooke's Hospital,
38:03so they can treat, in surgery, people with neurological, uh, illnesses.
38:07But we're trying to find a, a bone marrow donor, uh, for Will, as well.
38:10So, um, if you're between 16 and 30, and you're not on, on, on the register, the stem cell register,
38:15you can do that.
38:16And if you go to Will McIntyre's social media, all the details are there.
38:20But we want to send our love and our support to Will and his family here at Silverstone.
38:25We're celebrating a Grand Prix that, that you should be here at, Will.
38:29And you will be here out in the future, mate.
38:31And you keep fighting.
38:32Yeah, well said, Crofty.
38:33Uh, yeah, from us all.
38:34Uh, wishing all the best.
38:36Absolutely.
38:36Brilliant stuff.
38:37Well done.
38:37Well done, Crofty.
38:38Thanks for that.
38:39Um, let's, let's switch it back onto, onto those two, though.
38:42Oli Behrman, as well.
38:44The start that he's had this year, he's putting a lot of pressure, isn't he?
38:46On, on Esteban Ocon.
38:48He is, um, and, and Oli will be seeing that, um, Charles Leclerc has re-signed at Ferrari
38:56and, uh, Lewis Hamilton looks like he's going to hang around for quite a few years now.
39:00So his route to the works Ferrari team has been cut off.
39:04And at the same time, uh, has, uh, sort of, they're, they're a small, they're the smallest team
39:10and they've been struggling to develop that car and keep pace.
39:13So, he's just gotta, he's just gotta keep doing what he does somehow, Oli.
39:16And he, he's driving beautifully.
39:18And you're right, it has put Esteban under a little bit of pressure for the future.
39:23Um, and we'll see where that team goes to.
39:25But, um, he's a little bit sort of locked in at the moment.
39:28He might have to, uh, find a plan B, Oli Behrman.
39:30What do you think? I mean, I think that, that's what you hear when you talk to the family,
39:34you're thinking potentially, you know, as you're saying, you've got that decision.
39:37You stay within the Ferrari family at Haas, or do you look elsewhere
39:41whilst you're kind of tied it over and stay on that leash, perhaps?
39:44Yeah, I think for him, stake focus right now.
39:47He's so, so young in this sport still, and he's proving himself.
39:50Uh, but for his management, yes.
39:52I think they need to be talking to, to other teams and other possibilities.
39:55Because this could, you know, he could get stuck at this team.
39:58If, uh, if Lewis decides to be as good as he is for many years to come.
40:02Over your shoulder is the Red Bull hospitality unit.
40:05Lauren Meckis, the team principal, was the man that signed Oli Behrman to the Ferrari Academy.
40:09I know Red Bull are keeping very close tabs on Oli Behrman.
40:13And if he hasn't got away into the scooter rear, that might be a very good option for Red Bull
40:18and for Oli.
40:19Good point. You should come and join us more often.
40:20I'd love to join him more often, yeah.
40:22Um, okay, we're going to take a short break.
40:24We've got a great piece, by the way, on Oli Behrman driving a classic car in the build-up tomorrow.
40:28We're going to take a short break on the other side.
40:30We'll continue building to qualifying here at Silverstone.
40:48Welcome back. Absolutely beautiful day here in Northamptonshire.
40:51Just over a quarter of an hour to go until the start of qualifying, which is fast approaching.
40:56That man was 100th behind Lewis Hamilton in sprint qualifying.
41:02Let's go to the sky pad.
41:03Ants there with his qualifying pointers.
41:06Yeah, thanks very much, Simon.
41:08Yeah, so let's take a look at all of the things, the issues that certain drivers were having
41:11with their car balance in yesterday's sprint qualifying.
41:15Starting off with George Russell.
41:16Not a brilliant day for him and not a brilliant balance either.
41:19Soaring at the wheel, not trusting the rear of the car.
41:22Having to take multiple stabs at the steering angle to get through that one.
41:25So maybe working on rear stability.
41:27Now they've got the chance to work on the cars, perhaps.
41:30The next one, Colopinto.
41:32Didn't make it out of SQ2.
41:34That second knockout round, of course, in turn six at Brooklands.
41:37Really snapping on the rear violently there.
41:40He actually was complaining quite, quite bitterly about the balance of the car from that particular lap
41:46when I heard the team radio and I'm not surprised to find out why.
41:50So that's the reason.
41:51Albon as well, he makes it through Brooklands.
41:55Okay.
41:56But they're looking for more grip overall.
41:58Particularly here in turn seven on the exit of Luffield.
42:01Puts his foot down.
42:02Look at that.
42:02Already in trouble with the rear of the car there.
42:05And another thing that's going to make that difficult is the wind.
42:07And that has certainly picked up.
42:09Standing here at the Skypedal in the open.
42:11I can feel that wind's picked up.
42:13That's going to affect them more in qualifying coming up than the sprint race, of course.
42:18Turn nine, Copps corner.
42:20Arvid Lindblad.
42:21Not too sure about the front end there.
42:24Again, a bit like George Russell.
42:25But this is in a higher speed corner from the racing balls.
42:28Not confident in through Copps corner having to work at the steering wheel.
42:33Unsure of what the front end was going to do on the soft tyres on that racing balls.
42:36But they've got some speed to watch out for them.
42:39And then finally, we've got Lewis Hamilton on his sprint pole lap.
42:42Through the final couple of corners.
42:44Turn 16 and through Club 17.
42:46The rear gets away from him.
42:47And we saw in the race the Ferrari not looking after its tyres that well.
42:52And maybe that's a sign as well.
42:53At the end of this lap, something they should be working on at Ferrari.
42:58So that's what to look out for on track.
42:59What about the pit lane?
43:01For that, we have Ted Kravitz.
43:03Thank you very much, Anthony.
43:04And yes, look, let me demonstrate what Anthony is saying.
43:07The wind is so unpredictable as we have a look at the wind speed measuring device and the anemometer there.
43:13And we can see that it's gusty, it's changing direction and it's changing in how windy it gets.
43:20So it's going to be really unpredictable for the drivers.
43:23You get caught by a wind gust at the wrong time in the right corner or the right time in
43:28the wrong corner.
43:29And then you might be all over the place and that might be your chance of pole position gone.
43:33Got to tell you, they've changed so little on Lewis Hamilton's car.
43:37They've been burned by this before when they've made big changes from a car that he's happy with in the
43:41sprint race going into the Grand Prix.
43:44And Lewis doesn't want to make that mistake again.
43:46So I've noticed many more changes on Charles Leclerc's car.
43:49There you can see it's still up on its stands while they're just finishing the work at the back.
43:53Many more changes to Leclerc's car than Hamilton's. Hamilton's happy with it. Just polish it. I know what I've got
43:59under him.
43:59He's under me, he's saying, and I'll go into Grand Prix qualifying and the race with a car like that.
44:05As well as starting to get to grips with their actual race starts, it looks like Red Bull Racing are
44:11happy-ish.
44:12There are a few changes on Max Verstappen's car, not so many on Isaac Hadshar's. That's all ready to go.
44:17But Verstappen's, they're just getting that sorted at the back.
44:20And Kimi Antonelli, they are making a couple of very subtle changes to this Mercedes.
44:25Just to make it a little bit better over one lap.
44:28They're still mindful down here at Mercedes of how Ferrari just had the better of them in sprint qualifying yesterday.
44:34That allowed Hamilton to get sprint pole, but they want pole. Make no mistake about it.
44:39They want pole for one of these drivers, Kimi Antonelli, but George Russell with some pace to find.
44:45And talking about pace to find, that's what's going down here at McLaren.
44:48Let's just end on Lando Norris as he's waiting to excite his fans in the Lando stand.
44:53He's focused. He's listening to his debrief. Lots of work on the car. Look at that.
44:57A couple of mechanics underneath and a load more around it. They're looking for some aero changes.
45:02They're looking for some mechanical changes as well, trying to get a bit more pace out of this McLaren that
45:07has proved second,
45:09maybe even third quickest car so far this weekend.
45:12Lando's fans expect. Simon, so does he.
45:16Yes, absolutely. I mean, the learnings from, of course, the sprint, this is what you get.
45:20You get a second bite of the cherry, obviously, on these weekends.
45:23And both Ferrari and the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton in particular, they know they can't just leave it as it
45:28is.
45:28Otherwise, the same could happen in the race. The same is going to happen in the race, isn't it?
45:32Yeah, exactly. They know it works in qualifying. They've done that already.
45:36But the race was a bit of an issue towards the end of the stint.
45:38So, yeah, that's going to happen tomorrow if they at least leave it the same.
45:41So they'll be fine tuning. They'll be fine tuning the balance of the car, but also the deployment as well.
45:46And Lewis has already got his eye and he doesn't need to improve.
45:49No, he doesn't. But actually, I suppose the comfort for them is that the problem that they had in Austria
45:55was the straights.
45:56Now, we did see Kimi breeze past at one stage.
45:59You don't know what the difference was, obviously, in the battery levels at that point.
46:03But they certainly weren't suffering as much as they were in Austria, it would seem.
46:06No, and there was a couple of reasons for that. I think the number one reason being the track temperature
46:11or the air temperature, I should say, rather than the track temperature.
46:14A lot lower here. You've got the altitude in Austria that also plays a role.
46:17But, you know, DEC was also one of the things that they really struggled with so far.
46:22And they are carrying more speed, it feels like, in the corners than the others, which is actually benefiting them
46:27because then they're requiring to use less energy to get back up to speed in the straights.
46:32So that actually bizarrely plays in their hand over here.
46:35Yeah, the problem for a Ferrari, judging by their starts with the small turbo, it's not getting ahead, it's staying
46:41ahead.
46:42Yeah, it is. They're very good off of corners, really good off of low speed corners. You see that.
46:46But, yeah, with how Kimi is performing now with his outright pace, but also his understanding of a race situation
46:53and getting from A to B as quick as possible, he's going to be formidable, I think.
46:57He is, absolutely. He's the man to beat for pole.
47:00Lewis or Kimi?
47:02Who do you think?
47:02Well, I think that the beauty of Sprint Weekends is that things can turn around. So it's going to be
47:07one of the, well, I would say Kimi. Let's say Kimi.
47:10You're going to say Kimi?
47:11I'm hoping George is up there with them.
47:12Okay. Yes, he's been some way off it for the moment, but there we go. As we said, this is
47:18the main event.
47:19We have had a very delicious appetizer in the form of Sprint qualifying and the Sprint itself which Kimi Antonelli
47:26won.
47:27Lewis, two seconds behind him. But what will happen now in qualifying for the British Grand Prix? That's next.
47:42You want to join us on the sofa?
47:45I miss Great Britain. I miss the naivety. I miss imperfection. I miss the messiness we bathed in and had.
47:52Barren fields before new estates. Jumpers for goalposts. Grass stained knees with your mates. A G up from the old
47:59boys. The constant heartbreak. C facts for the results. Is it really coming home?
48:04But what I really miss is cops and stow. Maggots and beckets. I miss hearing them before seeing them. I
48:11miss the roar before the lights out. I miss you Silverstone.
48:15Because it's a nation holding its breath. The red arrows overhead. I miss those hot summer days and rain. I
48:21miss the marshals standing out there whatever the weather.
48:24Us crowding around the box to watch four-wheeled heroes get mobbed. Bacon sarnies at six in the morning squeezing
48:30your sibling's hand when it all goes wrong.
48:33I miss tears with my mum. Those are the special ones. I miss...
48:39Through goes Hamilton!
48:41I miss sat-navs before sat-navs. Just following cars on a map. I miss Murray screaming...
48:47Go! Go! Go!
48:48And all that. Look at the state of that Mercedes car!
48:51And somehow he brought it home. Three tyres, that's all he needed. Lewis back on his throne. I miss cucumber
48:58sandwiches and crisps with your brother and your sister. Thermos flasks, sunburn blisters.
49:03Someone always saying, we'll never see that again. Let's not forget Damon and Diana. I miss seeing we'll beat the
49:10traffic then sitting there for hours. I miss fetch us a brew, milk on one.
49:14I miss pretending being on our best behaviour. The first, yeah, you know the ones. It's hope, believing, heartbreak. And
49:21no matter how it gets done, you always come back. We call you home. We miss you. You silverstone.
49:32We'll be talking to you with you. We need saving渚
49:34business, a trick for you, you never know! You will
49:41have to invest $2,000, you know the ones to talk about the times of the life. Chris Kublowski
49:47will be различ. The first thing,
49:47I'll prove to the perspective of the lawyer that that doesn't exist. Of course, I
49:48don't want to see you since this year. With a 1957 vid
49:53ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
50:25Well, if you've recovered from the sprint and you've had a little lie down,
50:28shall we get going with the main event, ladies and gentlemen?
50:31Welcome along to qualifying for the Grand Prix, the big event,
50:34the 77th World Championship British Grand Prix and the 60th to take place here at Silverstone.

50:44and we race tomorrow over 52 laps around this 3.66-mile circuit.

50:5218 corners, eight to the right.
