00:00We need to talk about what a real patriot actually looks like.
00:09Because that word has been hijacked, but what happened on the Capitol steps yesterday just reclaimed it.
00:18This is Major Watson, an officer in the United States Armed Forces,
00:25arresting bound in full uniform for refusing to comply and look the other way.
00:31And for many people, I get the skepticism already.
00:34If you keep the military-industrial complex at an arm's length,
00:39because of its history from foreign intervention to what we're witnessing in places like Palestine,
00:44I completely get it.
00:46But I've been holding people like this right here accountable to their oath since day one.
00:52Here is why this specific moment is absolutely historical.
00:57When an authoritarian leader starts using the military like a personal bodyguard system
01:03to commit war crimes or to threaten sovereign nations,
01:07the civilian population hits a wall.
01:10Nonviolent action only goes so far against a militarized machine willing to do horrific things.
01:17That's just facts.
01:19And this is where the scale balances.
01:21Someone with, in that body, has to have the spine, stand up and do what the rest of us physically
01:31cannot.
01:32Major Watson didn't just break a rule.
01:36He defied the commander-in-chief in uniform.
01:39He put his freedom on the line to signal to the rest of the ranks and to us
01:45that the oath is to the people, not a dictator.
01:49If they don't disobey orders like this, they become the enforcement arm of fascism.
01:56There is no middle ground.
01:59This is the ultimate civil service, defying a corrupt government to protect the citizens.
02:05It's the most honorable thing we've seen from the military in modern history.
02:10Major Watson just lit the fuse on the resistance.
02:13It's time for the rest of us to stand with him, remember the rule of law,
02:19and turn this country back over to the people.
02:22This is a real patriot.
02:24Major Watson, we stand with you.
02:26You are an American hero.
02:28Thank you for your service.
