00:00In the semi-final, you know, you said in the pre-match press conference that it could be, you know,
00:06it's somewhere where you can, you know, expect a good bounce from the 1KD wicket.
00:11Again, bounce-wise, this wicket has looked really good.
00:13What is the strategy going to be the same as far as the hard lengths are concerned?
00:18You have a bowler like Harsh Chitrana also now into the scheme of things who has been doing really well
00:24as far as last couple of years are concerned.
00:26So, how do you see this wicket and the bowlers, especially, you have fast bowlers?
00:32I think it's always a high-scoring game. Margins are very small there in terms of, you know, where you
00:40want to land the ball and the execution at the end of the day needs to be on cue.
00:44Yeah, it's very similar. I think, you know, only saving grace is you can always have a little bit of
00:48overclass conditions.
00:50In England, we always find there's something in with a new ball.
00:53And I think we cover, you know, a lot of bases in terms of what and who we can put
00:59in certain different roles.
01:00We've got, you know, guys who can bowl well with a new ball like Harsh Chitrana.
01:03I think, you know, the way he's come back after a lengthy layoff has been very, very good.
01:07You know, Prince has done exceptionally well and then Arshti for his experience.
01:12We're also, you know, thinking of going with the bigger grounds, you know, taking pace a little bit off the
01:18ball.
01:19I mean, those are all options and discussions we're having, you know, as a group.
01:23But I think, you know, today we're going to have the first look at the venue.
01:27You know, stats may dictate one aspect of it.
01:31But I think at the end of the day we still need to fit and see what's going to be
01:34the best for us going forward into this match.
01:37Morning, hi.
01:39Just wanted to know your feedback or your assessment of whatever you have seen of Prince so far, Prince Jadav.
01:45Of course, he had a very, you know, good IPL now coming through the ranks.
01:49He bowls that hard length and can bowl in different phases of the game as well.
01:54And maybe his lengths are ideal for, you know, South African condition where the 50-year World Cup will be
02:00played next year.
02:01So if you can talk about him a little bit.
02:04I was quite lucky to work with Prince while I was with LSU with Lucknow Supergiants.
02:10Prince at the time was a net bowler.
02:13And there he was already marked as somebody that, you know, was highly skilled.
02:18And it was great just to see his journey now.
02:20And then, you know, playing for England, for India.
02:24You know, I'm just blown away by how calm he keeps things.
02:29You know, I think he's also a guy that's always, every session, looking for ways to improve his game and
02:36make himself better.
02:36But at the end of the day, it's about execution.
02:38And, you know, I think at the moment, if we talk about death bowling and that middle phases of the
02:43game,
02:43how he reads the play, what decisions he makes under pressure and then executing that for me, it's great to
02:50see.
02:52Hi, Morning.
02:53Hi.
02:54I just wanted to ask you about Suryavanchi.
02:55How has he settled into the India squad?
02:59I guess, especially with a few extra challenges like the extra, the changing room he has to change in on
03:04his own and things like that.
03:05Has that been quite straightforward?
03:07And you, as a squad, kind of embraced that to make him feel included?
03:11I think he's filled in very, very well.
03:14You know, I think if you follow the boys on Instagram, there's already a lot of photos been posted, you
03:20know, with him especially.
03:24And, you know, just the way the guys have welcomed him.
03:26I think, you know, at the Nets as a 15-year-old at the international stage, it can be intimidating.
03:32But, you know, I think just the couple of Nets we've had, it's been very impressive.
03:37And, you know, we're all excited to see how he goes.
03:40And when he gets that opportunity, I'm pretty sure he'll be ready.
03:43But in terms of, you know, coming into the squad and fitting in, it's been very smooth.
03:49I just wanted to take you back to time at Suryavanchi, if that's all right, and ask you about your
03:53memories of playing with a very young Sam Curran at the time.
03:56Could you tell us a little bit about anything you remember of him, his sort of determination, any early leadership
04:02you saw in him, and how you've seen his trajectory since?
04:05Yeah, Sam, he's always been a player that, what I liked about him, he's always confident.
04:12You know, he's a guy that, in tough situations, he wants the ball, he wants to step up, he wants
04:17to make the play.
04:18And, you know, that's the X factor that he brings into his side.
04:22You know, a guy always, who's not nervous, or who doesn't overthink the game, and he wants to make the
04:28play for the team.
04:29I think you need that character, that style, in your side.
04:33And, you know, as a young boy, when I played at Sury, that is, you know, that is sort of
04:37his DNA coming through the system there.
04:41And he's been also a player of tournaments and World Cups.
04:46He's done really well for England, you know, with White Ball, when he got the opportunity at the death.
04:51So, yeah, I think he's a guy that understands his games.
04:54He knows how to calm the emotions down when it's a pressure situation, and that's a good skill to have.
05:04Moni, last game, obviously, because of rain, the game was abandoned.
05:08But as a bowling unit, what did you thought of 190 target?
05:14Was it enough on that surface?
05:16Were we ahead after half-time?
05:18What was your assessment?
05:20And are we expecting any changes in playing 11 in tomorrow's game?
05:26Look, to be honest with you, I thought on the eye the wicket looked a bit dry.
05:33And also the feedback that we got at the wicket was a little bit too pace and stoppy.
05:38The only thing I was then later, while we were batting our batter innings, what I was slightly
05:42concerned and nervous about was the fact with the rain, you know, is the ball going to then skit on.
05:49But I reckon if conditions stay dry, the way we set up our bowling plans and attack in terms
05:56of the way we wanted to go about it would have suited the venue quite well.
06:01I mean, there's big square boundaries, you know, there's also a wind plus the surface is quite dry.
06:05So it's one of those never-know sort of situations.
06:09But, you know, I would definitely like to think that, you know, the quality we've had in our bowling department,
06:14we can defend that on that surface.
06:19Moni, what do you feel about the all-rounders role here?
06:21Spinner as well as the medium pieces?
06:24Because it's an afternoon game, it starts at 2.30.
06:29What do you think about the all-rounders role?
06:31Spinner as well as the medium pieces?
06:33Because it's an afternoon game here in the bowling unit.
06:36Look, I think as an all-rounder, you know, is there anybody in particular you refer to,
06:42but I think it's always, you know, good to have those options.
06:46You know, you can give them two overs to get through, one over to get through,
06:49and then you can always rotate your bowling unit around that.
06:53But I'm always a big fan for having that all-round option into your side
06:58that can give you the balance with the bat and ball.
07:01Hi, Moni. Going back to Suryavanshi,
07:05what factors do you have to consider as a coaching team
07:09about when to throw in for this debut with so much excitement about when we'll see him?
07:14Look, I don't think there's a lot of factors.
07:17I think we just need to also respect the fact that we've got the number one batter,
07:22or we had our number one batter in T20 cricket, Abhishek Sharma.
07:26You know, Sandhu was the player of the World Cup.
07:28He had a great, you know, IPL.
07:30So I think as a coaching staff, it's only fair to show also the faith and back your players.
07:38You know, yes, there's a young man knocking on the door and it's exciting,
07:42but, you know, I reckon for not just those two players at the top,
07:47but for the rest of the group, it's a good sign that we show that we back you guys.
07:51And, you know, in a day it is about putting performances on the board.
07:54You know, that is key.
07:56But also if you look at it, you know, we also don't want to think too much
08:01and back other players out of positions.
08:04So I reckon it's not as straightforward.
08:06Okay, let's play him.
08:07It's a matter of, you know, backing some of the guys who've won World Cups,
08:11who've done really well for you, you know, in tough situations.
08:14And then also from there, build and see how we can structure
08:18and make our top model order, you know, as good as possible in these conditions.
08:24Mone, after the completion of the Ireland series,
08:27Riant and Descartes had mentioned that Ireland didn't serve anything full as a bowling unit
08:30and there was this adaptation issue around the Indian batting unit.
08:34So coming to Durham, we saw that during the partnership between Abhishek and Shreyas,
08:38they have scored a lot of runs square of the wicket
08:39and got 95 for the loss of just one wicket against PIN.
08:43So were there certain tactical tweaks when it coming into the England series
08:46as far as batting is concerned?
08:48Look, I don't think there will be many tactical tweaks.
08:51I think it's just, in England, you need to sometimes give yourself a ball or two
08:57just to get used to the pace and the balance and what the wicket is doing.
09:01You know, obviously in Ireland, you know, conditions there was very foreign
09:06where these guys were used to playing in the last couple of months
09:08where the ball was coming through quite nicely, it can hit through the line.
09:12So I think it is just that personal responsibility in terms of, you know,
09:18what is your game plan?
09:19How can you change it a little bit to give yourself, you know, a bit of time
09:23to just get used to the conditions here?
09:26You know, it is something for us as a batting unit and a bowling unit
09:31and as a team in general we need to get used to.
09:35And I think, you know, just showing the way we went now in the last game,
09:40there's already progress in learning and stuff, you know, going into our innings.
09:44And that is great.
09:45You know, we can talk about it in rooms and in meetings, but in a day,
09:49it's up to the individual and the players still to formulate their way of going about their innings.
09:54And I thought we did that very well up in Durham
09:57and hopefully that can continue down on in the series.
