00:00So I guess the big question to start with is Elise Perry.
00:04Obviously had a bit of a concern while batting.
00:07How is she looking and looked like she went through a bit of a test bowling and batting today.
00:11Looking good for the final?
00:12Yeah, she trained really well today.
00:15Had a good bat, had a good bowl and yeah, I think she's about to go over the field now.
00:20So yeah, trained well today and we'll assess tomorrow and see how she pulls up before we make any decisions.
00:27I know Shelley spoke a little bit about potentially even if she's not quite at 100% that she'd probably
00:34still lean towards making sure she's in the team.
00:36But for you as a skipper, would you want her definitely being able to bowl or anything like that if
00:40she's in the team?
00:40Or are you comfortable if she's only there to bat that she could be able to do a job as
00:44well?
00:45Look, it'd be great if she could do, if she could bowl for us.
00:50But at the same time with our bowling depth, we feel like we've got a bit of cover there at
00:56the same time.
00:57But her T20 World Cup so far with the bat has been incredible really.
01:03She's won a couple of games for us there.
01:05So yeah, I think her with the bat and if she's not bowling, it'll still be a massive sort of
01:11positive for us.
01:14Sophia, Natsa Verbrunt told us some time ago the English girls prepared by watching Saving Private Ryan.
01:21I know you've done a bit of Olivia Newton-John.
01:23What are you planning to do tonight to prepare for a World Cup final?
01:26Is there a movie or a show that you like to see?
01:29I probably won't be watching that.
01:33It's a good movie though.
01:36And definitely no Olivia Newton-John.
01:38I've probably done my dash there now that I know there's cameras everywhere.
01:43But yeah, I think we'll keep it pretty chill tonight.
01:46We just had a great little hit out here.
01:50It's our last hit out on what's been a really long tour.
01:53And I think that the group feels really calm.
01:58So that's all we could really ask for.
02:00And I think we'll just make sure we do that over the next 24 hours and make sure we turn
02:06up here tomorrow,
02:08having not have played the game a thousand times in our head.
02:12But yeah, I'm sure we'll have a good night.
02:16And just in terms of legacy, obviously Australia's got a hugely successful legacy.
02:21And for yourself as a captain, have you given any thought to how this could maybe define your captaincy
02:27or even what it means for this group of girls?
02:29I know it's a big question to ask.
02:32No, not personally.
02:34I think it's been an incredible tour tournament so far for this group.
02:41You know, whatever happens tomorrow happens.
02:44I think we're going to walk away, I suppose, really proud of the type of cricket we've played over the
02:49last few weeks.
02:51Look, the girls have played with freedom.
02:53They've been brave.
02:56And I think we've played in a really amazing team game of cricket, which, look, I think that's, you know,
03:03we can take so many positives away from this tournament.
03:05But in terms of a legacy, I think, yeah, definitely tomorrow we'll, if we can get over the line, that
03:13could only add to that, that's for sure.
03:17Hi, Sophie.
03:18Is there any feeling of satisfaction for you personally?
03:21You'll have been aware of, like, the chatter when you've got the captaincy, people saying whether you're not a regular
03:27in the team sort of thing.
03:28And now you've led Australia to a World Cup final.
03:30Is there any personal satisfaction?
03:33Not yet.
03:35I think if we win tomorrow, there might be a chance to be able to sit back and reflect, but
03:40we've still got a job to do.
03:43And, yeah, that is tomorrow, playing our best game of cricket.
03:47But, yeah, it's been a whirlwind.
03:49It's been an amazing ride so far, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
03:53And a bit of chatter around the fact that the teams won't be able to get on the field as
03:58early as you normally would because of the pre-tournament performances and that sort of thing.
04:02Is that right?
04:04Is it right that you can't get on when you normally would?
04:06I've got no idea.
04:07Assuming if Rita Ora's here, we can evacuate the dance floor, that's for sure.
04:17Sophie, the last T20 World Cup, obviously, you know, didn't go your way.
04:21It was a disappointing campaign for you guys.
04:23Can you just reflect a little on how far this team has come in that time?
04:28Yeah, look, it's a funny one.
04:32It was a one-day World Cup.
04:34It was in India, completely different conditions.
04:37But I think the learnings and the lessons we got out of that game, as we've held really close to
04:45us for, you know, that six or seven months since.
04:49And I think the way that the group has been able to grow over the last three or four months
04:54especially, almost just, you know, releasing the shackles a little bit and just allowing ourselves to, you know, play freely,
05:03use our class, use our skill.
05:05It's a very smart cricket team.
05:07They know what they're doing.
05:08So I suppose that's been the biggest thing, the growth in that area.
05:12And we know that we're, you know, if we want to play in these big games, we're signing up for
05:17pressure.
05:18And so that part of it is, you know, we've put a lot of effort into being able to manage
05:23that and cope with that and being able to use that at different points during this World Cup.
05:28And, yeah, we'll have to do that again tomorrow.
05:31But, you know, I have full faith in everyone in our group, players, staff, to be able to do that
05:37tomorrow.
05:38And is it a similar story from the last T20 World Cup?
05:41And just, can you just talk a little bit about how the T20 games developed for you guys in the
05:46last, you know, year and a half, two years?
05:49Yeah, I think the T20 games developed for everyone in the last two or three years since that last World
05:55Cup.
05:55And I think you can't really sit back and wait for the game to come to you in T20 cricket.
06:00And that's, you know, that's a big thing for us is to be able to, you know, express ourselves and
06:05play our way.
06:07And whether that be, you know, to take on the opposition in a really aggressive way or is it to,
06:14you know, absorb and use our cricket smarts.
06:17And I think that's the beauty of our team, I suppose.
06:22We're able to read a game situation and it's going to, we're going to be thrown a different, a different
06:26challenge and a different situation tomorrow.
06:28But our ability to read that and be able to stay calm and make the right decisions for the team,
06:32we've done really well.
06:38And how tough a challenge are you expecting from England at home?
06:43Oh, it's going to be a huge challenge.
06:45Look, they've played some really brilliant cricket over the last few weeks and, yeah, Lottie and that have got the
06:52team in a really good place and they seem to be full of confidence.
06:56And you add on to that 30,000 English fans here at Lords.
07:01Look, we know it's going to be an incredible challenge, but it's also going to be a really special day
07:05just to be involved in.
07:06And, look, we match up well against them.
07:11You know, we don't want to look too far into the past, but we should be very confident heading into
07:16this.
07:16And if we just look at, well, spend our energy and time looking at how we want to play and
07:21what we can do, I think that will put us in good stead for tomorrow.
07:25Well, it has almost been a perfect campaign for you, the Australian team here.
07:29How much have you enjoyed captaining that side?
07:32Oh, it's a real joy.
07:35Look, they're teammates, but they're also, you know, best mates.
07:39To be able to go across the other side of the world and to be able to play in a
07:42T20 World Cup with, you know, a group of people that, you know, like, they're the best.
07:48We've had such a good time over here and we've played some really good cricket.
07:52I think that reflects, you know, the space that we're in as a group.
07:57Hi. You mentioned England there, but obviously the last time you played them, it went pretty well in your favour.
08:04Have you spoken about that and their development since you played them in the Ashes?
08:09We actually haven't mentioned the Ashes too much.
08:11I think we've probably looked at a little bit of footage used from the Ashes.
08:15But, yeah, different conditions.
08:17They were playing a different style of cricket and we're probably playing a different style of cricket too.
08:22So, yeah, we've definitely, you know, looked at all the data and numbers and everything behind it and made plans
08:29from that.
08:30But tomorrow's a new day.
08:32Tomorrow's going to be a new challenge.
08:33And, yeah, we're very much looking forward to it.
08:36And you've already played a match here already, this tournament.
08:39But what does it mean for you guys as overseas players playing in a final at Lourdes?
08:45Oh, it's really special.
08:47I grew up watching test cricket with my dad and I reckon about 15 years ago I said to him,
08:54I want to watch a game of test cricket here at Lourdes.
08:56Who would have thought that tomorrow we're running out and playing a World Cup final here in front of a
09:02packed crowd.
09:04So, yeah, look, for us, you know, Lourdes is the home of cricket.
09:10And it's, yeah, going to be a really special occasion tomorrow.
09:17You've had a really stable attack through the last few matches.
09:21Has there been any chat about mixing that up through our surprise of England in the final?
09:24And is Alana King someone you might look at given her record against England?
09:28Yeah, we'll definitely look at that.
09:31I think the unpredictability is, you know, a big part of T20 cricket.
09:36But at the same time, you've got to back and trust what we've got.
09:41And it's been, you know, we've got eight or nine bowlers in our 11 at the moment.
09:47But, yeah, Kingy's certainly in the frame.
09:50And we'll, you know, have a look tomorrow and make sure we make the right call on that front.
09:58Thanks, everyone.
