20:49to each race
20:51and you're in a different place in your life every time
20:54you know definitely 2008 was very very special
20:56that's where I felt like the first connection with everybody
20:58because I would come through Abbey
21:00and I could see everyone standing up when I made it through
21:02and most people weren't making it through most times
21:06and then obviously 2024 was probably the most special
21:10Lewis just to talk about the season so far
21:13I mean I think a lot of people have been waiting to see you back on top
21:16and it feels good for a lot of us
21:17and you know we were talking just a minute ago about the feeling under the podium in Barcelona
21:21and how emotional it was
21:23just on that
21:24it's been fascinating to see you battling your old team
21:26what is that like?
21:27is it bizarre?
21:28how does it feel?
21:29no not at all
21:30I mean I have so much love for Mercedes
21:33I spent so long there
21:34they supported me since I was 13
21:37so you know that's my old home
21:40and so to see them succeed only makes me happy
21:42they're doing such an amazing job
21:44and they're real champions as you can tell
21:46out and out champions
21:50and I'm in a new place
21:52a new environment
21:53and I'm working on bringing these guys right to the front
21:57so it was amazing to have that experience
21:59and to stand on the podium
22:00watching Michael win those races
22:02all the way back when I was younger
22:04and seeing the Ferrari crew
22:07like singing, chanting the Italian National Anthem
22:10and to see how passionate they are
22:12I was just standing there again to see it
22:13as if I was watching it through TV as a kid
22:16so it was really special
22:17two home races this year as well
22:19I mean you'll be going to Monza as well
22:20that's going to be incredible when you get there
22:22you must be looking forward to that
22:23almost as much as this
22:26I look forward to
22:27I can't say that I look forward to
22:29the actual racing that we're having at the moment
22:31some races is really good
22:33but like for example here
22:36and in Monza
22:37those long straights
22:38we don't have any battery power
22:40so by the time you get to full throttle
22:42a couple of seconds in
22:43the battery dies
22:45so it changes this track
22:47it changes Monza
22:48Monza is going to be a lot slower
22:49than it ever has been
22:50and tomorrow
22:52I'm hoping that the wind pushes us
22:55down these straights
22:56because with these rules
22:59it's not meant for a track like this unfortunately
23:01but on the flip side
23:03the positive side of things
23:04is Ferrari has been bringing a couple of upgrades
23:06and the correlation seems to be there
23:08I mean the performance seems to be getting better and better
23:09and you're putting pressure on those Mercs
23:12so yes
23:13you're feeling happy in that car
23:14the last race was really tough
23:16and you know we were losing about
23:17I think it was like four tenths a lap
23:19just in the straights in the race
23:21so that's hard to overcome through the corners
23:23but the car is fantastic
23:25we really made progress
23:26and the great thing is that they're just constantly bringing in upgrades
23:29they're pushing so hard everyone back at the factory
23:31which I'm really proud of
23:32and that's what I just want to see
23:34I just want to see us always just making incremental steps
23:37and we'll get to where we're planning to get at some stage
23:40Lewis can you win the championship this year
23:47I mean
23:48still a lot of races ahead of us Lewis
23:50there is a lot of races ahead
23:51but I'm a realist as well
23:53you know Mercedes have won pretty much everything
23:57particularly at the beginning very easily
23:59even when people brought upgrades
24:01they still won
24:02and they didn't bring in upgrades
24:03so I think they've got plenty left in the pocket
24:07but there's also races I think we'll be able to challenge them
24:10whether or not we can compete with them
24:12at this current stage
24:14we're pushing really hard to try and close that gap on the straights
24:17if we get to that point
24:18if we have the same powers
24:19then we would be obviously battling them
24:21every single weekend
24:22so that's what we're working towards
24:24but who wants an eighth?
