00:07The aim is to deliver faster, more frequent trains on a more reliable and greener network across the north.
00:14Over 5km of track has been renewed and over 800m of drainage installed, improving the reliability of services passing through
00:22the area.
00:22Overhead line equipment masts have been fitted, with new foundations enabling electric trains of the future to run smoothly.
00:30Batley Station has been enhanced, as has Dewsbury Station, with a strengthened footbridge, extended roof canopies and foundations for extended
00:39platforms all being implemented.
00:42The transformation of both Dewsbury and Batley Stations are now almost complete.
00:46Both will have improved accessibility, extended platforms that can accommodate longer trains with more seats, and enhanced facilities for those
00:54travelling across the north.
00:56The focus is now on a series of weekend works at Huddersfield Station across July and August, in preparation for
01:0216 days of improvement works in September.
01:05Biverted routes and railway replacement buses will be in place, with weekday services remaining unaffected.

01:2225% of the route is now electrified, with electric train services running between Manchester and Staley Bridge, and York
