00:01Hi volunteers, I'm Alex. And I'm Justin.
00:04Come take a peek in our paradise.
00:14So we built this house starting a couple year or two ago.
00:19And this is what we call a tiny house, even though it ended up not being so tiny.
00:24It's a one bedroom, one bath with, as you can see, a very small living kitchen area.
00:29And a small kitchen.
00:35It also has a small garden in the front and a small plunge pool.
00:39So we really wanted to maximize the space, but also create something really cozy and small.
00:44And so this couch area is actually Justin's favorite part of the house.
00:48One of my favorite features is actually the AC covering.
00:53It was the perfect width to fit.
00:56I love that piece and it was a very happy find.
00:58And I also love the C fan.
01:01I think they speak for themselves.
01:07And similar to the first build, I found a bunch of antique terracotta house toppers when I was shopping around.
01:16So you'll see this one here and it has some floral details on it, which I think kind of added
01:22to this slightly different feel of tiny house.
01:25And that's a little bit more cozy.
01:28And yeah, so this is the feature of the kitchen table.
01:40And this is the tiny kitchen for this house.
01:42We actually went with an uhlin wood.
01:45We went with a brass sink.
01:47Even when it gets dirty, I still think it looks good.
01:50So that's a huge plus for us.
01:52We found these really amazing pieces of uhlin wood for the shelves.
01:56And I'm really excited that these hanging lamps turned out as well as they did.
02:01These were actually pieces that I found when antiquing and apparently they were used in ceremonies.
02:08So I love the idea of kitchens that have like the hanging copper pots and pans.
02:13It's just to bring in that kind of homey vibe as well.
02:26So one of my favorite features of the bathroom is the clamshell sink.
02:32I custom designed this vanity bathroom table.
02:35Found the right spot to put it.
02:37And I think it turned out pretty nice.
02:39Uh, I did create like a nice window.
02:41So when you're at the sink looking out, you can see the greenery.
02:44Um, maybe eventually I'll put in a mirror.
02:47The shower is also a nice feature.
02:50I wanted to bring in the marble.
02:52Because I felt like that was a way in the kitchen to bring a certain warmth.
03:06Really happy with how this turned out.
03:08And how the plants kind of flowed inside.
03:11And I love this bottom detail here as well.
03:15So it's just adding a little bit of design to, um, what would otherwise be just a shower.
03:28So although the house is very small, um, I still wanted to make sure that every detail mattered.
03:34Uh, we do have like the microwave and the water dispenser and fridge, but I wanted a way to kind
03:42of disguise it.
03:43Um, and I just love the look of these kind of curtain closures that you see in a lot of
03:48like Italian homes or Spanish home.
03:50I also had these custom made at a brass shop here.
03:55A little bit of extra thought went into the curtain rods.
03:58They're a very small detail, but I like to think they make a big impact.
04:09And as you can see, this is a pretty thin entranceway walkway.
04:13When designing the storage area, I wanted to make sure that when you opened it, you could really maximize.
04:19So I think these kind of folding doors did the trick.
04:30And this is the bedroom.
04:32So, uh, a lot of the main features of this bedroom have to do with the kind of decorative metal
04:38pieces.
04:39When I am actually shopping, I know, oh, okay.
04:42I really liked that piece from the shop.
04:43I'm going to go back there.
04:44Hopefully it's still there.
04:45Uh, quite a few of these pieces.
04:47That's how I ended up purchasing them.
04:49Another feature of the bedroom that I really love is this sliding barn door.
04:55I did a mixture of different woods just throughout the house.
04:59Justin and I are both a fan of Ulan wood.
05:01That's probably our favorite.
05:03This piece is teak and the wood detail on this was so insane that I had to have it.
05:10So I saw this actually a few years ago and I purchased it a few years ago.
05:14Instead of a mosquito net, we did the same thing that we did in our first house,
05:19which is we just put this drape over the bed to prevent the gecko poop from coming on the bed.
05:25So that's helpful, but also bringing in a softness and warmth to the bedroom.
05:32We love this huge window in the bedroom just to feel like you're actually out in nature in the jungle.
05:42So right in front of the bedroom, we have the plunge pool and the deck.
05:46And I actually don't use the pool too often, but sometimes it's nice just to cool off, take a dip
05:50and relax for a minute.
05:55And down below we have a little garden, so let me show you.
06:01And before we get to the garden, I just want to make a pit stop at the pool room doors.
06:06So I actually found these pieces.
06:10There were four of them and they were like a white and green painted wood decorative pieces, I guess.
06:18I had one of my woodworkers turn them into doors because we wanted something that would allow air flow,
06:25because this is the pool room, but would also create privacy.
06:29So these worked out really well.
06:33And this is our small garden.
06:36We have an amazing gardener who puts a lot of love into our garden and loves it just as much
06:40as we do.
06:41And we just wanted to create a little space to relax in.
06:45The table and chair set was actually just in the garden at our house, but it was kind of down
06:51below.
06:52Didn't get a lot of love, so we decided that it would actually match this house really well.
06:56So we brought it up. It has that like slightly rusty old feel.
07:00So I think it suits it really well.
07:02I really like the wildness of it.
07:04So we did bring in some more manicured details to this garden.
07:10Like you can see the river stone border.
07:12And as you saw upstairs, we also did a lot of the pink pebble stones over the planter box and
07:18stuff,
07:18just to give this house a little bit more of a tidier feel.
07:35So thank you so much for watching.
07:36Bye.
07:37Bye.
07:38Bye.
07:38Bye.
