05:43So, even though my mom and Rick aren't married yet, I do refer to him as my dad.

05:50So, you've called him dad for a long time regardless of anything.
05:53He's been in my life since I was probably 11.
06:00My mom and Rick were high school sweethearts.

06:29On Father's Day, we went and got sushi, and I told him that I had a surprise for him.
06:34And for months, I wrote this letter.
06:36In the letter, I asked him to adopt me.

06:40Which is something I wanted to do for a very long time.
06:42And he hugged me and went into his pocket and pulled out this necklace and asked me to
06:48be his daughter and asked permission to marry my mom.
06:50So, we both had the same plan at the same time.

07:48I think if I was to imagine my perfect wedding, it would be more of, like, a classy, upgraded

22:43We've come so far and there was a lot of sacrifices and it was all worth it, but we had

22:55So, if that meant we were having a dance party in the kitchen after having a really rough morning, or
23:01if we had nachos for dinner, it was always very fun.
23:06At one point, we were living with my friend Kim.
23:09And I'll never forget, Caitlyn drew this picture of a house in a swing set.
23:17And she said, someday, we're going to have a house of our own.
23:22And, oh God, um, and I framed it and it gave me hope.
23:29When Caitlyn was eighth grade or so, we finally bought a house and we worked on the house all together.
23:37Caitlyn's, like, knocking down walls and we did all the flooring and we're scraping the popcorn ceilings all together.
23:44It's really special.

23:51As we kind of nibble on our favorites, I know Caitlyn has something she would love to tell you.
