00:00George Washington was not particularly tolerant of fools.
00:03He stood up against stuff that he thought was, what would I call it, whimsical or not particularly focused on
00:11what saves the people.
00:13I mean, really saves the people.
00:15I don't think he was a fan of big government.
00:18I think he was a fan of small government.
00:20But he believes in the fight.
00:23And if you're not energized always to make sure that the best result comes out for America, that you are
00:29probably not going to be too helpful.
00:32I think I wanted to make a movie about leadership and about what it meant to lead and what the
00:38good version of it was, what the bad version of it was.
00:40And I think early on in the film, as with any story of a person that's trying to make a
00:44name for themselves, he's blinded by his ambition and his ambition gets a little selfish.
00:49And I think through this experience where he kind of humbles himself and really self-assesses, he becomes the leader
00:56because he realizes that to lead is to serve.
00:59To lead is to serve other people and to serve a cause higher than oneself.
01:03And I think that that is the principle that we must always remember.
01:06And that's what we need from our leaders is that the idea of leadership as service.
