00:00Today we're talking about young people and opportunity and very often as
00:06politicians, actually beyond politicians, I think most of us saying quite often we
00:11want every child or young person to go as far as their talent or ability will
00:15take them and I'm comforted by things like that. The trouble is it's not really
00:20true if they've grown up in poverty, if they're wanting to take the non-
00:27university route into work and beyond work or if they're one of the 13% of the
00:35million or so who are not in employment or in training or education of any sort and
00:42therefore today I just really want to focus on how we provide opportunity for
00:46them because that deprives them of opportunity, actually deprives the country
00:49of a huge yield as well because we don't get the benefit of their talent. So the
00:54three steps that we've put in place that I want to then broaden out for a discussion with you are
01:00the sort of building blocks.
