Hello Folks!
I hope you’re all well. Tonight for tea we had this AMAZING beef curry! You could substitute the beef for lamb, or even chicken…but you’d need to adjust the cooking time accordingly :)
Well worth giving this a go if like me, you’re a fan of a nice spicy curry!
I used hot chilli powder in this recipe…but use a mild chilli powder if you prefer a less spicy curry!

Everything I used will be below.

04:42The last thing I'm going to add in terms of herbs and spices are these fennel seeds.
04:48So a couple of teaspoons of these.
04:50And this really does add a wee bit of something extra.
04:53Just give those a gentle stir through, just until they disappear into your sauce.
04:58Now obviously we're going to have to add some liquid to this to, you know, turn it into a sauce.
05:04So I'm just going to add some water, cold water, warm water, it doesn't matter.
05:08So I am just using cold water just to cover the beef.
05:12And then you want to bring this up to a boil.
05:15Once it's at the boil, turn the heat right down and you want to simmer this for about an hour.
05:20So do come back from time to time just to give it a good stir together to check your liquid
05:25levels
05:26because you may have to add more water.
05:28You know if too much of your water evaporates,
05:31but you want to make sure that your beef is covered and simmering and cooking well.
05:35So you just want to keep, you know, just keep an eye on it.
05:38Keep simmering away and simmering away until your sauce is lovely and thick
05:43and your beef is lovely and tender.
05:46Mine took about an hour and 15 minutes because my beef is quite large and chunky.
05:51If you use smaller beef, it may not take as long,
05:55but would you look at the shine off of that sauce.
05:58And it's beautifully thick and the flavour was insane.
06:03And this beef is fall apart, tender.
06:05I'm just going to show you in a wee second how easily my wooden spoon goes through this beef.
06:11You know, it just goes straight through.
06:13It's like butter.
06:14Yeah, just beautiful, lovely sauce as well and gorgeous smell.
06:19Yeah.
06:20So do give this a go.
06:21Like I said, if you do like a nice spicy curry packed with flavour.
06:26And would you look at how tender this is as well.
06:30So you can serve this with whatever you like.
06:32We tend just to serve curries, you know, just with some plain rice.
06:37Occasionally, we'll have something like a chapati or a piece of naan bread
06:40or even poppadoms or a mango chutney.
06:43You know, it's completely up to you.
06:45But we are going to have this for our tea.
06:47So I'm just going to serve this very plain tonight
06:50with some basmati rice underneath.
06:53Or you could even add some coriander or lime onto the top of this as well.
06:57Would also be lovely.
06:59So pile your plate nice and high.
07:01Like I said, this recipe will serve three to four people.
07:05I mean, this is a very generous portion.
07:07So if you're having a portion of this size, it will do about three people.
07:11If you're not as greedy, it will do about four people.
07:14So do let me know what you thought of that one.
07:17And Kate, if you're watching, thank you so much for the recipe.
07:20I finally got round to making it after all these years.
07:23And it was well worth the wait.
07:25So thank you all for watching once again.
07:27And a huge thank you to the supporters of the channel over on my Patreon page
07:32and to the channel members here on YouTube.
