00:00President Trump faces problems at home and abroad. Congress remains frozen after Trump
00:05scrapped the housing bill. And power politics is just getting started on this Friday morning.
00:11Square, it is 9 a.m. on the East Coast, 6 a.m. out West, and we are 130 long
00:17days away from
00:18the midterms. And as we come on the air today, Donald Trump, well, he is trying to figure out
00:22how to actually advance his agenda, both home and abroad. On the home front, the president,
00:27is he really doing this? Because the stage was set. Republican leadership was on stage
00:33touting this housing bill. And let me tell you, you live once, but I actually think YOLO,
00:37I agree. Thanks them behind the scenes. And then they come back and say, well, it's this now.
00:42Here's what YOLO means now. It's the only leverage once. Oh, did I win? But I think that's actually
00:51what it is now. Right. And look no further than do anything. I think that's the instructive thing
00:55about the Hill for the next few months. Lucky you, Tim. You are a Trump biographer. You know
00:59him better than the rest of us. What's his strategy here? Well, again, Yosemite Sam, right? There is
01:04never a strategy. There are goals, but there's never a strategy. He's focused on a narrow set of goals.
01:11I think Bill Pulte's appointment, Todd Blanche's appointment, and Stephen Miller's looming presence
01:18behind the scenes, including when Trump, I was in white men from getting disenfranchised by people
01:24of color at the voting booth. And Democrats need to explain that to voters. Yes. Because when you
01:29just see the clips of Donald Trump at the podium, where he's like, show an ID when you have to
01:32vote,
01:33the average American's like, oh yeah, I guess that makes sense. And it's actually the details of this
01:37thing that are so worrying. Hi, civil rights attorney here.
01:42Well, thank you for watching Money Power Politics. Do not go anywhere. My dear friend
01:46and colleague, Antonia Hilton is up next. In the meantime, be kind, enjoy the ride,
01:51and I will see you right here Monday morning.
