00:22When the nighttime comes, the freaks come out.
00:26Put your pants off!
00:28When that sun's gone, people think they can hide the bad stuff in the dark.
00:31This is the I don't believe face.
00:34One team, one family, we always pull together.
00:39Dead bunch of bats!
00:41What the f*** am I in handcuffs for?
00:45It's very dangerous.
00:46Backup isn't always closed.
00:50911 emergency.
00:52You're going to kill me.
00:54Assaults, robberies, shootings.
00:57It's lawless out here.
00:58It's going to get hot tonight.
00:59A little bit of spice is always good.
01:01Stop having sex.
01:02Put your jeans on.
01:04See you in the wild, wild west, Tucson.
01:07It's the witching hour.
01:08Don't tap out on us yet, okay?
01:32Get the f*** away from my truck.
01:34He's trying to run me over with his truck right now.
01:37Where at?
01:37On Jarrigan's Gulch, on Rincon Mesa.
01:42Okay.
01:42The deputies are on the way.
01:46Six minutes.
01:47So right now, we're headed to an argument where there's an individual with a handgun.
01:54If we don't get there quickly, things can escalate very, very quickly.
02:02You never know what they're thinking, what they've decided that morning.
02:05And you always have to keep that plan in the back of your head.
02:08If this thing goes sideways, what am I going to do?
02:15And I have it on video.
02:17Get the f*** out of my way, bro.
02:20Back the f*** up.
02:21Hey, hey, hey.
02:23You just pulled a gun on me, bud.
02:24I don't give a s***.
02:25Back the f*** up.
02:26I ain't got no weapon.
02:28Get the f*** out of my way, dog.
02:34He just barely pulled a gun on me when I tried to approach him, because he was racing up and
02:38down the road.
02:39I'm going to need more people here.
02:44690-23.
02:50I stopped him here, because he was racing up and down the road.
02:55He has a 9mm with him.
02:57He pointed at you, right?
02:58Oh, yeah.
02:59He pointed directly at me.
03:02Can you get a point?
03:03I've been straight, like, handing out.
03:05I just seen it in his hand.
03:06Go inside.
03:08He's got a .32 in his hand.
03:10There's a sheriff's department!
03:13Come over here with your hands up!
03:15He's got the gun in his hand, and he's not listening to me.
03:19But right now, he's in danger to the public.
03:23You can see him kind of going back and forth in the bushes.
03:27He has his hands up, sticking out.
03:29This is the police!
03:32Come up with your hands up and empty!
03:34I hit him in the truck.
03:36It will slowly go up to him.
03:42You ready?
03:45He's yelling something.
03:48Don't move!
03:51He's starting to move him.
03:53Max, if he does anything, send your dog.
03:58Put your face on the ground!
04:01Max, you ready?
04:16We got to get our detectives out of here.
04:22Tell me what the you want right now.
04:25Face the truck.
04:26All right, all right, all right.
04:27Don't touch me while I'm getting...
04:37I'm going to leave my hand right here in case you said it's better.
04:43Shut up.
04:45So, when you got here, you had to go to my hand.
04:48Zach.
04:49You have a bunch of people seeing him drive.
04:51What are you going to do?
04:52You can smell it all.
04:57Well, that's not very nice.
04:59Do you have anything against me?
05:00Not at all.
05:01Exactly.
05:02I don't know you.
05:03So, go ahead and face me real quick.
05:06Do you have any head or eye injuries at all?
05:07Nope.
05:08Okay.
05:09Exactly.
05:09Can you look right at me?
05:10Can you see this red light here that's in my pen?
05:12Exactly.
05:12Follow that with your eyes and your eyes only.
05:14Don't move your head.
05:14Do you understand?
05:15Do you understand?
05:16Yep.
05:17Okay.
05:18Don't move your head, okay?
05:23Keep looking at the pen all the way out, okay?
05:24I know it's a little bit uncomfortable, but...
05:27You are under arrest for DUI, okay?
05:28So, go ahead and face in.
05:29Do it.
05:29Hey, hey, hey.
05:31We already did it.
05:31We're done.
05:35Will you consent to a test or tests of your blood, breath, urine, or other bodily substance
05:38for the purpose of determining your alcohol concentration or drug content?
05:40Yes or no?
05:42Does it look like I'm sober or not?
05:45No.
05:46Does it look like I'm sober?
05:47No.
05:48Exactly.
05:49So, will you consent to that test?
05:50Yes or no?
05:58Okay, if you're a...
06:00Take that as a no.
06:01Do it.
06:02You little bitch.
06:04All right, take that as a no.
06:06Go ahead and slide your feet back in.
06:08DUI.
06:08Yep.
06:10You.
06:11All right.
06:13He's really aggravated.
06:15He's one of the worst ones I've seen.
06:18Get the...
06:18Get the out of my way.
06:19You're going to come.
06:19Get the out of my way.
06:21Nobody's on your way.
06:22Get in the car.
06:23All right.
06:24All right.
06:24All right.
06:25All right.
06:25Here, rips.
06:26All right.
06:27So, brandishing the gun and pointing it at someone are serious felonies.
06:31A detective will do that interview with him and we'll do that in Rio River Jail.
06:47He has been wigging out back there for the entire car ride.
06:50I'll be honest, he's probably so drunk he won't remember doing any of this tomorrow.
06:53He's going to wake up with a really bad headache and holding and be like, why am I in jail?
06:59I told him to get the where's my truck and he did not want to get away, so I pulled
07:04my gun.
07:06What's up, ?
07:25You really don't know how fast the heat mixed with alcohol can get to you.
07:31People start thinking like they're invincible.
07:35It makes people kind of do crazy things.
07:38People get really, like, agitated and irritated very fast.
07:41And if they're, like, drinking alcohol, when it's already hot, it's going to make it way worse.
07:47I'm not anti-drinking.
07:48I'm not anti-fun.
07:50I just want to make sure everyone gets home safe.
07:52We get a lot of DUIs, domestics.
07:56Between the guns, the driving fast, the impairment, it's a deadly situation.
08:02You get the people that were drinking all day long, and then you come nighttime, that's when everything's going to
08:06start happening.
08:12Hey, McHoney, Sheriff's Department.
08:14Hi, this is Mike.
08:15Better security than from Mr. Rose.
08:17Okay, what's going on there?
08:19I was assaulted by a customer.
08:21Push me in the thing.
08:23Hey, don't pull up.
08:24Okay, and I'm assuming the customer is still there?
08:26Yes, ma'am.
08:28He goes nowhere.
08:30Stop!
08:31Stop!
08:33We have a deputy that should be there, okay?
08:45Sounds like someone had assaulted the staff.
08:48Right now, we got two deputies on scene.
08:51It sounds like the subject's still there, so we'll see what we can do.
08:58Obviously, Rose is a pretty popular country bar we have up here, especially on the weekends.
09:02A lot of people are drinking and having a little too much fun.
09:12Only two, I'm 23 at the 10-10.
09:17These guys are giving me trouble, telling me to get away from there, and I was like, okay, cool.
09:23What guys?
09:24Which guys?
09:25Him?
09:26Okay.
09:27And him.
09:28Right there.
09:29Did you swing at them at all?
09:31Yeah.
09:31I'm the only one in blood on my face.
09:37So do you work here?
09:38Yes, sir.
09:39Okay.
09:40I'm mad drunk dude, if you want.
09:41And that's the guy that pushed me in the face.
09:44I never hit you in the face, probably.
09:46So how did he end up like that?
09:48We started wrestling, and yeah, blows your drum.
09:52I got a group of people standing up front.
09:54He heads towards that side gate.
09:57Will you approach him?
09:58Yeah.
09:59But he pretty much put his phone in my face.
10:02Knocked it off.
10:03Okay?
10:04I don't need it.
10:06Slugged me.
10:07I'm a full-fisted front trigger.
10:09Okay.
10:10So he took a shot at Mike.
10:11He actually connected and hit Mike.
10:13And then that's when I hit him.
10:15And then we wrestled down to the ground.
10:17We got over here, and he wouldn't let go of Mike.
10:20And I'm like, yo.
10:20And then he tried to swing.
10:22I hit him again.
10:23And then, hey, stop.
10:24Let him go.
10:25And then he finally let Mike go, and then we got Mike off of him.
10:29So we got a couple of different stories.
10:31Our job is to try and figure out how it was initiated and where it went from there.
10:35What point did you get punched?
10:37Does it matter, dude?
10:39I was looking out into the street, and they punched me.
10:43I want to see if it's on camera.
10:45Okay.
10:46Well, you're going to see it.
10:47Okay.
10:48It was pretty high intensity, man.
10:51He's very intoxicated.
10:53Why am I the only person that's being detained right now?
10:56Who the is that guy?
10:57All right.
10:57Sit down.
10:58No.
10:59Sit back down.
11:00No, I'm not going to sit down.
11:02It's all up.
11:03Turn around and put your hand on, you guys.
11:04No.
11:05No, I'm not going to do that.
11:08Sit down.
11:09No, dude.
11:10Stop.
11:11Don't move.
11:20I've asked you to sit down like four times now.
11:22Turn around and put your hand on, you guys.
11:23No.
11:25No, we're not going to do that.
11:27It's too late now.
11:28Listen.
11:28No, dude.
11:29Stop.
11:30Please.
11:31Say what?
11:32No, dude.
11:33Don't move.
11:35So you are detained.
11:36You're not allowed to leave.
11:37So I can't go home.
11:38Right now, you're not allowed to leave, no.
11:39Why am I the only one in handcuffs, bro?
11:42You've been very erratic the whole night.
11:43I've been erratic.
11:44you.
11:46I want to call my lawyer right now.
11:48I don't even know if you're getting arrested, dude.
11:51This guy right here in the black, he had his hands on him.
11:54He was hitting him.
11:55He fell and he got back up.
11:57Who fell and got back up?
11:58This guy.
11:59Okay.
11:59This guy.
11:59He's like, hey, man.
12:00He's like, I didn't do nothing, bro.
12:02And they started and he's jumping in basically.
12:06I don't know how it started, but I seen that come off the exit.
12:08This guy.
12:12I want to call my lawyer right now.
12:14Do you know your lawyer's phone number?
12:16you.
12:16I want to call my lawyer.
12:18I'm trying to provide you a way to you.
12:20All right.
12:20I want to call my lawyer.
12:23So did Mike tell you that he got punished by this guy in the white?
12:27Yeah.
12:28I already found Mark on Sonic's face.
12:30I would indicate he'd be right handed.
12:32Let me call my lawyer.
12:34Hey, stop.
12:35Stop yelling, man.
12:36No, that.
12:37I want to call my lawyer.
12:39They said that the two employees were just beautiful.
12:43Yeah.
12:43He fell.
12:44He got back up.
12:45They started, you know, again.
12:47What the am I in handcuffs for?
12:51So they didn't see what started it or why.
12:53Really?
12:53I literally whipped him.
12:54When can I go home?
12:56What?
12:57No.
12:58We need to check the cameras.
13:00Go check the cameras, please.
13:04Let me call my lawyer.
13:06What's the phone number?
13:07I'll call.
13:08You're a piece of you.
13:10You.
13:12Uncuff me and I'll die.
13:13I'm not uncuffing you.
13:14Yeah, exactly.
13:15So you're denying me access to my lawyer.
13:21You don't have access to cameras.
13:27So without the security footage,
13:29these investigations are kind of tough.
13:32We have different statements from the parties involved.
13:35We see it, especially with these incidents at bars
13:38and stuff like that,
13:38where there's a lot of people that see it or see some of it.
13:42It's suspected that the gentleman in the white
13:45initiated the altercation for tonight.
13:48Everybody will go their own ways.
13:50Ultimately, we're going to send the case up to detectives
13:52for further follow-up, and they'll make the determination
13:55if there's any charges that are going to ensue from this.
14:02He was not a fan of Deputy Fringe.
14:04No one's a fan of me ever.
14:05It's the stash.
14:06Yeah.
14:07You were absolutely...
14:08You caught yet another fan, buddy.
14:20He appeared to be extremely intoxicated.
14:23That doesn't help him.
14:23Just amps him up, makes him unpredictable in their situation.
14:27He wasn't listening to us.
14:28You just got to keep a calm head and be cool.
14:31The second you get extreme,
14:34it's going to flare up and be more of a problem
14:36than it needs to be.
15:11I'm 73-78 traffic, I'll be 76 to the river and local.
15:15I am Foothills at large for the night,
15:17so I kind of can go anywhere in the district.
15:22Foothills, I think it might actually be one of the smallest districts
15:25in terms of land size.
15:26but it's busy, so there's a bigger call volume out here.
15:31There's a lot of party in DUIs,
15:34just because there's a lot of people out drinking alcohol,
15:37getting in fights and arguments and stuff like that,
15:40and just making bad decisions.
15:42Out here, it really is like the Wild West.
15:46Just don't have a horse, though.
16:01This truck is swerving right here.
16:06Every traffic stop is different.
16:09No traffic stop is routine,
16:11because you don't know what's going to happen.
16:13That could be when somebody decides to pull a gun on you on a traffic stop.
16:17737 traffic, with Troy and Russell.
16:28Not pulling it over.
16:32How are you doing?
16:39How's it going, man?
16:40Pretty good.
16:41What did you stop me?
16:42You're kind of swerving around a little bit, so...
16:44My water fell down there, that's why, uh...
16:48Your water fell down?
16:48Yeah, I'm here.
16:49Okay, where are you coming from?
16:51I'm just in the barcode.
16:53Oh, okay. Did you just pick up food?
16:55Yeah.
16:55And you said, what happened?
16:57Well, I have, uh, five gallons of water in the back,
17:00and one fell off, and...
17:01Okay.
17:02You're trying to, like, reach around and grab it?
17:04Yeah.
17:05Okay.
17:06He's got filibertos in the car,
17:08so it's pretty strong, like, Mexican food.
17:12Yeah, I'm just going to run him really quick.
17:16He was kind of swerving a little bit.
17:17He kind of went back and forth a few times in the lane.
17:20Once I caught up to him, he stopped swerving.
17:23It's just a little weird.
17:25What's up?
17:26He said that he had two beers an hour ago.
17:29An hour ago?
17:30Okay.
17:31Hey, uh, would you be able to pull up over my traffic stop right now?
17:34I think this guy might be 55.
17:35All right, sir, would you mind stepping out of the car for me?
17:38What's going on?
17:39Well, we're just going to run you through some tests, okay?
17:41You said you did have a couple beers.
17:43I saw you kind of swerve, so we just want to make sure you're good to drive...
17:46Okay.
17:46...before you send you on your way, okay?
17:51When I tell you to start, you're going to take nine heel-to-toe steps down the line.
17:58Six, seven, eight.
18:02So, just think about blowing up a balloon.
18:04That's how you want to stop.
18:05All right, go ahead.
18:07Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
18:10Good.
18:12All right, you here?
18:12I'm just going to...
18:12I'm really nervous right now to tell you the truth.
18:18All right.
18:19Go ahead.
18:20Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
18:26So, 0-2, I mean, everything that I've seen, Book.
18:29.
18:29IsvaT0 want to neighbours for that?
18:31Yeah.
18:32Cool.
18:33Thanks, buddy.
18:33Yeah, man.
18:35All righty.
18:36Well, I appreciate you cooperation with everything.
18:37Like I said, we do these tests not to hem you up, but to make sure you're good to drive,
18:42make sure you're safe, and, you know, other people on the road are safe, too, okay?
18:45So, you're gonna go. Enjoy your Filibertos.
18:47Be safe out there, too.
18:48Thanks, man. You, too.
19:02I really do like the night shift, and once you figure out the sleeping part, it's really not that bad.
19:08I don't like traffic. I don't like the sun in my eyes. I don't like the heat.
19:13So, I feel like this is perfect for me, because it's dark, not being able to see so much, and
19:19it almost makes the job a little bit harder, which is, in turn, kind of fun, if you have that
19:24kind of mentality.
19:39I am very suspicious of this guy.
19:46It says, don't turn right there. It says, don't turn right there.
19:50Okay.
19:52737 traffic.
19:59It just seems a little suspicious.
20:08How you doing, man?
20:09Hey, what's up, man?
20:09When you turned right there, there were signs that said, no turn or U-turn.
20:14Yeah, I probably didn't catch that, man.
20:16Would you want me to step out of the car for me?
20:17Yeah, of course.
20:18Cool.
20:20All right, dude. I'm getting a little bit of a smell of alcohol coming from you.
20:23Mm-hmm.
20:23Did you drink tonight?
20:24No.
20:24No?
20:26This deputy right here is going to talk to you, okay?
20:27Mm-hmm.
20:28All righty.
20:28What's going on, man?
20:29Let's come over to the sidewalk.
20:30I just, I don't want to get hit by a car.
20:32I don't want to get hit by a car.
20:32Yeah, I ain't.
20:35You're going to raise one leg, either leg of your choosing, approximately six inches off the ground.
20:40You're going to count out loud in the following manner.
20:411,001, 1,002, 1,003, and so on until I tell you to stop the test, okay?
20:46You may begin.
20:481,001.
20:51All right.
20:511,001, 1,002, 1,003, 1,004, 1,005, 1,006, 1,007, 1,008.
20:59All right, man.
21:00So, just like blowing a balloon, okay?
21:02You're going to create a tight seal and just keep going.
21:04I'll tell you when to stop, okay?
21:05Go ahead.
21:06Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.
21:09Go ahead.
21:10Just checking the presence of alcohol.
21:17All right, man.
21:18Just place your hands behind your back, okay?
21:20All right, man.
21:24Did I say something was wrong on the blow thing or I do drink?
21:30But not tonight.
21:32So, here's the deal, man.
21:33You just blew almost three times the legal limit.
21:36Oh, ****.
21:37So, you're going to stick to you haven't drank at all today?
21:41Because that doesn't really happen.
21:43I mean, I drank in the morning.
21:45You drank in the morning?
21:45Yeah.
21:46When was the last time you drank?
21:47In the morning?
21:48Like, what's going on, bro?
21:49We're going to put you in the car right now, man.
21:50You're under arrest for driving under the influence, okay?
21:53All right.
21:54Yeah, man, because I wasn't drinking tonight, but, I mean, I drank earlier, you know,
21:57when I got home from work.
21:58When?
21:59Literally, like, it was, like, 6 p.m.
22:016 p.m.?
22:02You just said you haven't drank since the morning, but now you're saying you drank when you got
22:06off work.
22:07Morning, morning, but, like, it was, like, 3 p.m.
22:09Early, like...
22:10That's not the morning, bro.
22:12That's the afternoon.
22:13Not the morning, but...
22:14It's the p.m.
22:15All right.
22:15We're just going to take everything out of your pocket so when we put you in the car
22:18it's not uncomfortable for you, you know what I'm saying?
22:20So you can get in and watch your head.
22:21Mm-hmm.
22:24You had a whiskey receipt in your pocket right now from two hours ago.
22:29People don't blow three times over the legal limit when they drink six hours ago.
22:33All right.
22:35I think it's going to be extreme DUI, not just a DUI.
22:47I had a feeling from the second I saw him pull out that, uh, it was possibly DUI.
22:56Okay, so you had drinks in the morning, then you had drinks in the afternoon, and then you
23:00had drinks in the evening, and then we find a whiskey receipt in his pocket for, like,
23:0445 minutes ago.
23:06So you've just been drinking all day.
23:24I'm 617 from Irvington-Benson.
23:29Deputy, I'm going to go ahead and pull you out of here.
23:32Deputy Irvin just, uh, found a suspicious vehicle right now.
23:36A vehicle he believes has evolved in a race a bit.
23:39And so he just asked for a backup unit to help him out.
23:46It's been about three weeks since the Pima County responded, uh, to a, uh, report of
23:53a pedestrian with, uh, significant injuries.
23:57I've got a gentleman here laying on the side of the road.
24:01Face down, blood coming from the mouth.
24:03Was it a head run?
24:05It looks like there's some car to breathe.
24:08Like, headlight glass, stuff like that.
24:10Okay.
24:11Is he breathing?
24:12No, he is not breathing.
24:14Come on, sir.
24:15Stay with me.
24:18The pedestrian, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
24:21And that vehicle is still outstanding.
24:24It's tragic.
24:25And, uh, there's no justice for this victim's family.
24:30All that, uh, we can rely on is video footage captured by the intersection.
24:36Looked like a dark, uh, pickup truck with sun damage.
24:39The Sheriff's Department is doing everything possible, uh, to locate the driver of this car.
24:46Tonight.
24:46It could be nothing, or it could be something.
24:49We gotta be prepared for you, though, or.
25:05What was your reason for stopping him?
25:07Literally just saw the vehicle and matched the description.
25:09He's got the front-hand damage.
25:11We don't believe in coincidences.
25:18He's saying that, uh, he got the damage about three days ago.
25:22He was parked in the Food City.
25:23When he came out, the damage was to his truck.
25:25Um, but, uh, they'll police report or anything like that to back that up.
25:31Okay.
25:31English speaker or Spanish speaker?
25:33Mostly Spanish, but he's got his son or siddler in the passenger seat.
25:36Yes.
25:56We are looking at the potential homicide.
25:59the individual struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway and then fled the
26:05scene did not stay did not render aid didn't call 911 nothing they just left
26:09and acted like nothing happened hopefully not too long man I know it's
26:17hot hopefully we'll get you guys out of here as soon as we can man I appreciate
26:20your patience
26:24we just have driver passengers separated right now both in our vehicles we have
26:28Jesse and a couple of the other traffic guys are going to be on their way out
26:32here very shortly
26:40when I saw the vehicle on the road with the size and just the making models I
26:44then pulled up the photo of the vehicle and everything looked identical any brown
26:51stains so there is this right here which could be rust could be transmission
26:58fluid or something like that but it could also be blood from the victim so
27:03some of the things that I know about is some faded top of the truck are we able
27:08to like put have your car pull up and stand on the hood of your car and look at
27:12the roof yeah we need to see it right yeah
27:19uh you want me to line it up no you don't need to
27:26so that that's pretty close to the blurred photo we have yeah that sun fades very unique
27:34it just matches up it it's like a fingerprint it just matches perfectly
27:40this is this is the truck
27:46definitely taking the truck oh yeah and then we're gonna see what he has to say
27:51good night I'm your official Rodriguez and we are going to point out all this because there was a shock
27:57that occurred here in Lampano Verde and there was a car
28:02Exactly.
28:03Yes, I was in a car.
28:06I didn't stop because there were cars.
28:10What happened to you with this?
28:14Nothing.
28:15I was in a car.
28:18But there was a person with that car?
28:20Yes.
28:22Yes.
28:22Yes.
28:23Yes.
28:25Yes.
28:27Yes.
28:27He's the only person who could not see.
28:30As long as he can't see there.
28:32We didn't.
28:32They left me.
28:33They left me.
28:35They moved.
28:35Yes.
28:36If I had known that the truck would have put me in.
28:39I'd know that there's a big crime.
28:42If I had known that the person would have killed me.
28:47If I would have taken over into the truck then I would never get there.
28:53He gave me all the details.
28:55It was a Saturday, said he was by himself, everything's there.
29:00Very adamant that he did not know there was something there.
29:02He said, if I would have known, I would have killed somebody, I would have left the truck to Mexico.
29:06He's got lots of family there.
29:08I would have just dropped it in the gala, if my brothers would have came and picked it up.
29:10That's the only thing he would change if he could reach back in time, is just...
29:14Yep.
29:19It's a really good arrest. It's a really good night.
29:22We got some closure for this guy's family, and hopefully a dangerous driver off the road.
29:38How many of these go unsolved, where it's like, all we have is like, yeah, last known description's a white
29:43Toyota, black truck.
29:45We've had a bunch of tips. None of them have panned out.
29:47All of a sudden, it just drives by Ruben.
29:51Sometimes, man. It just works out sometimes.
30:04Tonight, it's very busy. There's a lot of people out at the bars.
30:09I always kind of grew up knowing I wanted to do something with law enforcement, because that's what my dad
30:15did.
30:16So I applied.
30:17I wanted to be that person that's there to help people, like having the opportunity to make an impact on
30:22people's lives.
30:23I also thought that we would get those cool little hats that the state troopers get.
30:29And I was very upset when I found out I wouldn't get a cool hat.
30:32But it's no big deal.
30:389-1-1, where's your marketing team?
30:41In the block north of Whitmore and Bowling Wells.
30:45Someone laying on the side of the road, on the sidewalk.
30:50Did you see if it was a man or a woman?
30:52I couldn't tell if it was kind of like waving a hand or a leg or something.
30:59I'm not sure.
31:00I couldn't see what was going on.
31:02But he might need help.
31:04Down the middle on the sidewalk.
31:08To figure out what he's doing.
31:21You swear you've only had two, man?
31:25So what are you doing on the sidewalk?
31:27I don't know what I was...
31:28Is there anything illegal or no?
31:30No, people just called in because they saw a dude on the sidewalk.
31:34You have no drugs on me.
31:36You guys can check if you want.
31:37I don't care.
31:38Yeah, with that being said.
31:38But there is some weird shit.
31:40I ain't gonna lie.
31:42What kind of weird shit you got in there, dude?
31:45Someone gave this to me, right?
31:47Oh my God, that's like a sex toy.
31:51Look, this isn't mine, okay?
31:53Oh my God, this is not mine, bro.
31:56Someone just gave that to you?
31:57Don't let that thing touch your head, bro.
32:00You just put that against your head.
32:02No, I already washed it when he gave it to me.
32:04It doesn't look clean.
32:05It looks pretty dirty.
32:06Well, I know because it's been on my backpack.
32:07My backpack is really dirty.
32:08How much y'all want to buy this for?
32:10Look, I'm selling it right now.
32:11I think I'm good.
32:13But you can put that away.
32:17I didn't even mean to fall asleep right here.
32:20I guess it just happened right now.
32:21I'm so tired.
32:22I'm getting you, man.
32:23I tried to become a sheriff, too, honestly.
32:25Oh, for real?
32:26Yeah.
32:27What happened?
32:27I guess they just didn't want me.
32:29But they drug tested you.
32:30Did they do the hair follicle or just the pee test?
32:34They do urine tests.
32:35Oh, urine?
32:36Yeah.
32:36Oh, so I could become a cop.
32:38Why is that?
32:39It's the last time I did drugs, like, four days ago.
32:42So it comes out of your pee in, like, three days.
32:43Yeah, you're probably not going to make it, man.
32:45Wait, what?
32:47All right, man.
32:48Get out of here.
32:49We're going to get out of here, OK?
32:50All right.
32:55That one was really goofy.
32:56I did not expect him to pull out where he pulled out of his bag.
33:01That was insane.
33:02And then he's like, oh, someone gave this to me.
33:04Like, bro, stop.
33:06You bought that.
33:08This is so funny.
33:31We are just rolling through some of our neighborhoods
33:34to kind of get the feel for the neighborhood,
33:36the temperature, who's hanging around.
33:39Checking in on them a little earlier in the day
33:41makes it a little easier to see people that are out of place
33:44come evening hours.
33:47You definitely see a change in behavior
33:49when night comes around.
33:51It has a way of making people lose their mind.
33:54It's just like a little bit of a ticking time bomb.
34:11We just have a vehicle that has a plate light out.
34:15So we're going to see if we can stop out with them.
34:22We're going to see if we can stop out with them.
34:35We're going to see if we can stop out with them.
34:45I'm sorry, bro.
34:46All right.
34:46Do you have any weapons in the vehicle right now?
34:48I've got a knife.
34:49You have a knife?
34:51Okay.
34:51Is there any firearms in this vehicle?
34:52No guns.
34:53No guns?
34:54Okay.
34:55Sir, I'm going to have you stay just like that
34:56with your hands out the window, okay, for now?
34:58All right.
35:01All right.
35:02Go ahead and step out for me, man.
35:03I'm just going to retrieve that knife, okay?
35:05Go ahead and step out.
35:07All right, brother.
35:07You can just face that way for me, man.
35:09I'm just going to pass you down real quick.
35:10Yep.
35:10No other weapons on you, you said?
35:11All right, man.
35:12Excellent.
35:15Sorry about the knife, man.
35:16Yeah, do you have any other weapons in this vehicle?
35:18Just the knife?
35:19Just the knife?
35:20All right, man.
35:22Okay.
35:23Cool.
35:23Can you just grab a seat on the curb for me right there, actually?
35:27What are you guys doing right now, then?
35:34Oh, I got you.
35:35Cool, man.
35:36All right.
35:36Give me a second.
35:37All right, guys.
35:41Took a couple of erratic turns to get into this neighborhood, which doesn't really match
35:46up with where they said that they were originally going.
35:49We had the driver step out on his side because he had a switchblade tucked under his leg, and
35:55when he stepped out from the vehicle there, we could see plain view drug paraphernalia on
36:00the driver's side floorboard.
36:02So we are going to be conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle.
36:28We have a few pieces, probably about six or eight pieces of drug paraphernalia, and multiple
36:34knives.
36:35We had a hatchet in the backpack.
36:37They're illegal to carry, but, I mean, definitely concerning when you see people armed with them.
36:41They aren't guns, but they're equally dangerous at times.
36:45Yeah.
36:47The driver on the left, that's the dude that you stopped.
36:49I've stopped the other guy a couple of times.
36:51We're going to be getting you guys out of here pretty shortly, all right, dude?
36:55Future reference, though, okay?
36:56I'm glad that you let me know about that knife right in the front, too, but if you've got
36:59knives all throughout your car, just say that in the first place.
37:02I'm sorry.
37:04Fair enough.
37:05All right, man, so just the one misdemeanor charge for drug paraphernalia, okay?
37:08Possession of it, all right?
37:09So, signing right here, man.
37:10You're not admitting guilt, but you are promising to appear for your court date, okay?
37:12First time, brother.
37:13All right, y'all know.
37:16What's up, man?
37:17When are we going to stop running into each other?
37:20I'm starting to think that you're on patrol with us, man.
37:22You're everywhere I go.
37:27You can see that these guys are kind of racking up a lot of law enforcement interactions,
37:31if multiple guys on the squad are familiar with you.
37:33They knew that we weren't going to be taking them.
37:35I'm sure if, you know, we found something that led to a physical arrest and a booking,
37:39we might have gotten, like, a little pushback.
37:41Not too much, because they're both frequent flyers, but real frequent flyers really understand
37:47that, you know, lack of cooperation and stuff like that, and disorderliness and stuff like
37:52that never tends to work in their favor.
38:04911, where is your emergency?
38:06I don't know.
38:08I've been drinking a lot from the side of the room.
38:11Okay.
38:12I just want to go home.
38:13I'm getting some help out to you right now, okay?
38:24I got somebody saying that they were just on the side of the road and just keep an eye out.
38:30That might be her right here.
38:35Yeah, I think that's going to be her.
38:37Her boyfriend is driving a white Tesla.
38:41They might be heading our way, so...
38:46I think she's fucked, too.
38:47I got a white Tesla here, as well.
38:52We'll be out with both parties.
38:54All right.
38:55Do you need any medical attention or anything?
38:56No, I just said...
38:57You sure?
38:57I'm next to the block.
38:59Okay.
39:01Injuries?
39:01Did you hit the road or anything like that?
39:04Okay.
39:04Yeah, just on this side, okay?
39:08Just hang out on this side of the car.
39:09All right.
39:09I appreciate it.
39:10Okay.
39:12What's going on, brother?
39:14You have new weapons or anything?
39:15No weapons?
39:17That's my girlfriend.
39:18Okay.
39:18She just had a little too much to drink.
39:19Where are you guys coming from?
39:20We went to round one in our cave, because we left completely fine.
39:25It was during this trip going home that she started, like, getting upset and talking about,
39:30like, some, like, history stuff, because we have, like, issues, like, history-wise.
39:35When I ignore that stuff she brings up, it, like, makes her even more mad.
39:39Okay.
39:40That's when I stopped.
39:41I stopped right on the road.
39:42She has some scuffs on, like, her elbow or something like that.
39:45Was that from getting out of the car?
39:46Probably from that.
39:47Okay.
39:47Give me one second, right?
39:48Mm-hmm.
40:13She said she was trying to get out of the car, and he was trying to keep her in.
40:16I don't know if she had a scrape on her elbow, but she said she fell.
40:20I don't forget where she lives.
40:21Okay.
40:22Cool.
40:27So what's going to happen tonight is these deputies are going to complete the ride for you.
40:30They're going to take her home, okay?
40:31So really just kind of take everything with some caution here, and I would recommend you
40:35guys take a pretty good, serious look at things.
40:38If it's alcohol that you guys need to stay away from in certain quantities, then make that
40:42kind of thing, or something like that, you know?
40:43All right.
40:44Cool, dude.
40:44Yeah, you're good to go, bro.
40:45All right.
40:50Luckily, we were able to pretty much defuse that one, and ultimately, we didn't have a
40:56criminal violation.
40:57They can kind of just have a little sit-down talk maybe tomorrow when they're both a little
41:03more cool-headed or something, but they won't be seeing each other for tonight.
41:16You never really know what you're getting when you stop out with people.
41:20Yeah, I definitely put on different hats for different types of calls and all these different
41:23scenarios that come across.
41:25I think working here in the desert can generate some interesting calls, especially those who
41:30are bold enough to be drinking during the summer, I definitely will keep you on your toes.
