02:26oh there's the name yeah i mean there's a lot of freedom with it because he's kind of this
02:39he's not really like anybody else on the show or anybody in life
02:45i mean obviously he's got psychopathic tendencies but he's also got quite a big highlight
02:52i think we're quite vulnerable quite sweet quite funny well i mean um basically getting to know
02:59getting to work with this kid is uh a bonus yeah well you want to say characters have
03:06psychopathic tendencies that's sort of the whole point of being that's kind of what i do
03:12always have done are you very much like your character to take i mean there's aspects that you're
03:17probably not like but is there any similarities um the mancunian
03:23you are quite similar but you're not you know not not you're not like a have you known someone
03:29before not in real life obviously you can't say but yeah i feel like there is a lot of similarities
03:35but there is a lot of differences as well but i feel like we're both quite similar to our characters
03:39as well but yeah it's a character but you know close to us at heart so brad tells where does

03:45find himself at the moment because you get this poor kid goes through a lot yeah he's went through
03:48a lot i feel like you know they i've been there for like a year now and you know i've
03:51had a nice you
03:51know time there working in the caf just kind of you know bounce around the village and then suddenly
03:55it's like yeah you're getting kidnapped okay this is cool um but yeah there's a lot of pros and obviously
03:59him being autistic as well i feel like there's there's a whole added layer isn't there it's like you
04:03know taking information sometimes as an autism person myself as well it's like it is a quite struggle
04:08when you kind of you have to kind of navigate it differently but you know being kidnapped and then you
04:13know getting thrown out and then being told it was your brother who did it and then being told that
04:16it was actually kevin and he was your dad yeah there's a lot of layers to it
04:32they um they consult you when they write the storylines that have anything to do with autism
04:37like yeah that emid are amazing actually like um they obviously want lewis to be a character not
04:41bring too much of bradley into it as well which i'm kind of like i kind of want to do
04:44that because
04:44it's like you know not really acting type thing um it's easier easier to do every day um but yeah
04:50they definitely ask a lot of like you know the terminology like like stimming or masking burnout
04:54all these different things that i've obviously experienced as well that they want to do as
04:57authentic as possible so yeah the team are really cool to you know they work with charities as well to
05:02speak to them about their experiences but also asking about mine as well which is really cool
05:06when did you get your diagnosis then it was when i was about nine so before yeah yeah yeah it
05:11was
05:11kind of for me it felt it felt a little bit late because for the first like eight years ten
05:16years
05:16of my life i didn't um use words to communicate and then when i was eight i started doing drama
05:21and then
05:21i started you know using sounds and then i was like selecting mutism until i was around 12 and then
05:26yeah went to speech therapy and you were selecting mutism yeah so i didn't use words for like the first
05:31like
05:31eight nine ten years of my life and i find this absolutely yeah my mom says you can't shut me
05:37up
05:39you're unbelievable oh thank you um but yeah it is it was definitely that acting that helped me with
05:44that do you remember yeah i i do like i feel like recently i've i've done a lot of work
05:49where i've kind
05:50of had to like i did a book you know and i had to go back and like you know
05:53go through all these things
05:55that you know reflecting on it and what my parents went through and stuff like that and so yeah i
05:59always had
05:59all my thoughts i always thought i was communicating because my parents were such
06:02amazing support that you know we had communication cards we had different you know support mechanisms
06:06that allowed me to feel like i wasn't different i wasn't an outsider i was always communicating
06:10just not via words so yeah it was really cool it's amazing isn't it yeah
06:16how do you learn with your new adivergency how do you learn all your scripts and stuff do you have
06:21to do things differently or
06:22right yeah i mean i i feel like a part of me like i have to have it on paper
06:26i don't feel like it will
06:27go in better i don't yeah i don't know if that's like a i don't know if that's just a
06:30me thing or
06:31you know exactly yeah yeah and that that helps me going but i feel like i it's weird like when
06:35i look
06:35look at the page i look at it and then when i'm kind of doing the lines and when we're
06:39rehearsing when
06:40i'm like trying to still like you know try and find the line stuff like that i kind of actually
06:43commemorate like picture the the page and kind of be like oh i've got one there one there one there
06:47so i don't yeah
06:48it's i don't know how like a superpower yeah i mean i wish i could do you're quite good at
06:53learning
06:54lies they give you a lot of lines i don't know do they let you go off script do they

07:00do a certain next i mean yeah i don't seem to have much choice um no i mean it's it's
07:09one of those
07:09things where you know you can get a sense of what's in the scene and you know sometimes if the
07:14dialogue is
07:15not i mean if you can make it work a little bit differently yeah yeah with you know because
07:21people are from different places yeah do you know what i mean and um people have been through your
07:26characters have been through different things i had 20 odd years in prison and yeah sometimes you
07:31might not you know speaking modern yeah modern dialects are you are you loving the fact that this is
07:38your dad oh i'm buzzing absolutely buzzing it's kind of like because i feel like with our characters
07:43because when we first met it was kind of like there was quite a lot of similarities like you
07:47know we both we both get quite um anxious in certain situations situations where he turns to anger and
07:51i turn to like you know crying and having a bit of a meltdown type thing so we kind of
07:55like have so
07:55many similarities um but we're so different so it's it's cool to you know work that bond out and yeah
08:01and i mean he's hilarious and so fun to work on learning learning a lot from him which is really
08:05cool
08:05nice if there's a happy ending to this wouldn't it there could be who knows well we don't know
08:11no we don't know might end up on death is he gonna stick around to play bad is he gonna

08:16around well yeah yes yeah i mean at the moment we are we're you know we're we're down i don't

08:21how far ahead we are probably like six weeks yeah about six weeks ahead and uh yeah at the moment

08:25we're sort of working some bits and pieces out aren't we as characters um doing a bit of bonding um
08:31some some weird you know boundaries cross sometimes you're getting a bit too you're
08:37getting a bit too involved sometimes but it's it's all about you know communication and trying to
08:41work out where we fit in each other's lives which is kind of great oh thanks guys
