00:00The reason why Andy Burnham is going to be the new prime minister is because he's thought to be a
00:04vote winner and Keir Starmer, who is succeeding, was not a vote winner.
00:09And Donald Trump is very, very unpopular in Britain, as he is in many other countries.
00:14And so Andy Burnham is not going to be so nice to Donald Trump that the British public think, hang
00:21on, we don't like Trump.
00:22What's Andy Burnham up to? I don't think he'll go out to pick a quarrel.
00:26I think he will watch what Mark Carney of Canada did and Anthony Albanese of Australia did.
00:33And they won elections in part by standing up to Trump, not by being roosted in or artificially causing problems,
00:41but by making clear their view of their country's place in the world was not quite the same as Donald
00:46Trump's.
00:47And I think that is what Andy Burnham will try to do for Britain's place in the world,
00:51not seeking to upset Donald Trump, but not going out of his way to be over-nice to him either.
