00:00Mr. Fadhali, Mr. President, I'm going to take justice.
00:05I'm going to tell you we are scary.
00:07Dad is even afraid of mothers cutting flowers.
00:11In Kenya, parents and families of victims walked in remembrance of over 60 people killed
00:16during the so-called Gen Z protests in 2024.
00:19More people lost their lives during protests in 2025.
00:23So despite security concerns, several families and politicians and human rights defenders
00:28have come out today to pay their respects.
00:30They want to lay flowers in front of Parliament where several of the protesters died.
00:35The march took place amidst heavy security.
00:38Police blocked roads to prevent protesters from reaching the city centre.
00:42They also attempted to disperse a small group of protesters.
00:46These women are grieving. Two years ago they lost their kids.
00:50A lot of the police are coming here with violence and making noise,
00:53telling us if you don't disperse, you're going to get arrested.
00:55What have we done?
00:56Kenya's government recently announced that they would compensate families of victims
01:00of protest-related violence.
01:02But the families want those responsible held to account.
01:07Not a single person has been arrested.
01:09There's clear video evidence of who was shot and where.
01:12If our country is so incapable of figuring out who deployed their officers,
01:18who those officers were who have been identified,
01:21who was responsible for giving them the live ammunition that they used on the protesters.
01:26There must be responsibility throughout all of the chain of command.
01:29Otherwise, Kenya will never, ever heal.
01:31The families of the victims and the people supporting them were able to lay flowers
01:34in front of Parliament where several people died in 2024.
01:39Now, there were still skirmishes with the police,
01:40even with the small number of protesters that were here.
01:43And some people were taken away, arrested by the police.
01:46Now, the families say that they're still grieving two years on
01:50and that they want justice.
