00:00Three international criminal court judges have sued U.S. President Don Trump and his administration over sanctions imposed on them
00:08last year.
00:08In a lawsuit filed in New York, the judges said that the measures were unlawful and intended to pressure and
00:15intimidate them over their judicial work.
00:20They said the sanctions have severely disrupted their daily lives, including access to banking services, credit cards, online platforms, travel
00:29and in some cases, health insurance.
00:31They also argue the restrictions could undermine the court's work, making it harder to present evidence and legal filings in
00:38cases before them.
00:39The sanctions were imposed after the ICC opened investigations involving U.S. ally Israel, including an arrest warrant issued in
00:482024 for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes.
00:52Although the ICC has jurisdiction over war crimes and genocide in its member states, countries including the U.S., China,
01:00Russia and Israel do not recognize its authority.
