00:00You've got the humor and the drama. And then I could actually fly. And then you could act.
00:02Oh, of course. Yeah.
00:03I was like, whee!
00:06And the fact that you could actually fly. Yeah, it was amazing.
00:08Can I just start off by saying I was so jealous that you just got to scream into the void
00:12in this one when you went up to space?
00:14I was like, we all need that in our lives. I wish that was something that we could do in
00:18real life.
00:18I have done it.
00:21Where do you go to do that? Just outside.
00:23Don't get any weird looks?
00:24I mean, you kind of do it in a private space.
00:27They go in the middle of the park and you scream.
00:29I'm going to try it.
00:30I think it's good.
00:31Good therapy.
00:32It's good for you.
00:33It's good therapy, scream.
00:34It's definitely good therapy.
00:35Absolutely.
00:36Congratulations on this. I mean, I knew that you were going to make a great Supergirl anyway.
00:40But when you came to it, was there one thing that you were like, I need to make sure I
00:44nail this from the offset?
00:47I think it's just all of it.
00:49Like, I think I just kind of really felt that I had to nail her because she is such a
00:55beloved character.
00:57And there's something about it where it's like the fans own the character in this way.
01:01So I really wanted them to be proud of her and to really adore her.
01:05But I also really wanted to nail her humility.
01:08I think her physicality is such a big part of this movie.
01:12So I just wanted to nail it all.
01:14I mean, everyone loved her from the second we saw that little glimpse of her in the last Superman film.
01:19So you already had that.
01:20You already won people over then.
01:22Craig, did Millie bring anything unexpected to Supergirl?
01:26There is a strength, which she'll probably not be loving here.
01:35But there's this kind of punk attitude to Millie that is captured on screen.
01:40That she really is her own person.
01:44And she doesn't tolerate fools.
01:50She's so grounded.
01:52And that, I think, we got to capture on film, which is amazing.
01:55And I think it worked so well for the character.
01:57So to have that, it was so well laid into the character with the script.
02:02And you brought that so beautifully.
02:04And that was really, really exciting to have that as the bed.
02:07And then on top of that, you got the humor.
02:09And then I could actually fly.
02:10And then you could act.
02:11Oh, of course.
02:11Yeah.
02:12It was like, whee!
02:14And the fact that she could actually fly.
02:16Yeah, it was amazing.
02:17It saved you a lot of money.
02:18Yeah, in post, yeah.
02:21She's, apart from the flying thing, the most real, though.
02:24I feel like we've had this Supergirl.
02:25Like, she felt so real.
02:27Is there any part of you that is very similar?
02:30All of it.
02:30I just can't actually fly.
02:32Yeah, no, I really adored playing Kara.
02:35I think she is so similar to me as a character.
02:40Which I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
02:42But I think that she's a beautiful example of someone within the superhero arena.
02:49And I think that as an audience, we've been told, kind of through these characters, we've
02:53been told who we should be through these archetypes.
02:55And I think Kara really reflects who we are.
02:57And I think that that's really refreshing.
03:00Yeah, we put them up on a pedestal sometimes.
03:02It's the perfect being.
03:03Yeah.
03:04And she's not.
03:04And she shows you who you are.
03:06And it makes you feel like, oh, yeah.
03:07And you're unapologetic about her.
03:09Yeah, for sure, for sure.
03:11And so much of this is her trying to work out how to feel at home on Earth.
03:16You know, Krypton was her home.
03:17Yeah.
03:18Obviously destroyed.
03:19Now she's got to try and find this, make Earth her home.
03:21And I feel like having Krypto there is what makes it feel like home for her in a way.
03:26So for you guys, other than your family, what makes somewhere feel like home?
03:30Probably the cat, but he would hate that.
03:32Yeah, but I didn't have family.
03:33I did have family.
03:34The cat is the family.
03:36Oh, that's true.
03:36I guess if I had to take it out, it would be the smell in the air.
03:39Yeah, that's a good one.
03:40It's a sensory thing.
03:42Yeah.
03:42Yeah.
03:43The firmness of the bed.
03:45I love that.
03:46The bed has to be the perfect.
03:48The perfectness.
03:49That's why you take your mattress with you.
03:50Yeah, it's costing DC a fortune.
03:53I can't tell.
03:54I couldn't tell if that was real or not.
03:56I'm joking.
03:57I'm not trapped in the mattress.
03:59I wish that was my mattress.
04:01Sorry, oversized, guys.
04:04I kind of wish that was real, though.
04:06Some people do that.
04:07Forget a pillow.
04:08Yeah.
04:09Listen, the bigger you get, the more you can demand these things, Millie.
04:12So I look forward to you traveling with your mattress.
04:16But great job with this.
04:17Like I said, genuinely.
04:19She's so real, and I love her.
04:21Lovely to meet you guys, too.
04:22Lovely to talk to you.
