00:10The trailer for IT Chapter 2 just dropped, and while the new installment looks even scarier than the first one,
00:16we now also know that one of the most brutal and saddest moments in Stephen King's 1986 novel
00:21will be featured in the upcoming film.
00:23Screenwriter Gary Dauberman confirmed Thursday in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter
00:27that the book's hate crime against a gay young man would be in the movie.
00:30It was not included in the 1990 TV miniseries.
00:34Dauberman explained why they chose to include the scene where a character named Adrian is beaten before being murdered by
00:39Pennywise, saying,
00:44And just like in the book, Dauberman confirms adult Beverly, played by Jessica Chastain,
00:52will be the victim of domestic violence, which is alluded to in the new trailer with her arms bruised.
00:57It's me and the Losers Club has officially begun.
01:02We can do this, but we have to stick together.
01:04As far as horror and frights go, Dauberman says Chapter 2 is definitely bloodier than the first,
01:10and it is just as scary, if not scarier.
01:18Well, I won't be sleeping well tonight.
01:20It Chapter 2 hits theaters September 6th.
