00:00We're releasing some footage of a vehicle that we are looking for in relation to a fatal shooting
00:07that occurred at Ascot Vale. What we know at this stage is that our victim had returned to
00:14Mascoma Street at about 12.08am. He'd got out of his vehicle that he'd parked in the street
00:21and he was approached by a male and several shots have been fired and our deceased,
00:28our victim has run away north up Mount Alexander Road being pursued by our male offender.
00:36Several further shots were fired and our victim was hit and our victim made his way over to North
00:44Street just off Mount Alexander Road where he fell to the ground and he was treated by emergency
00:54services upon their arrival. Our offender made his way back down Mount Alexander Road and hopped into a
01:03white coloured, we believe it to be a Mercedes-Benz sedan, a C-class sedan. I best describe it as
01:10white in colour with black sort of dark glass roof and that vehicle was last seen heading west
01:19on North Street through Ascot Vale where it made its way to Epson Road where it headed south down Epson
01:27Road and at the big roundabout at Racecourse Road a pedestrian was crossing the road at that location
01:35that the offending vehicle almost hit the pedestrian and the pedestrian actually had to step back
01:41to give himself some distance from that vehicle. The vehicle continued through the roundabout and
01:48continued south down Epson Road and made its way to Smithfield Road where it was last seen heading,
01:54turned right into Smithfield Road, last seen heading towards Footscray in that general area.
02:01So I ask if there were any people in the area at the time, bearing in mind that it was
02:07just after midnight on a Saturday night,
02:10Sunday morning, any people that were in the area at the time that were driving through there or on foot
02:16that may
02:17have dash cam footage, if they saw that vehicle or any suspicious behaviour at the time, that they come forward
02:25and share that with Crime Stoppers, contact 1800 333 000 or call into their nearest police station.
02:32Now bear in mind also that we're interested to speak to anybody that may have seen the vehicle in
02:37the lead up to the shooting. We know that the vehicle travelled south down Mount Alexander Road to
02:45Muscoma Street so it's come from that the northern end of Mount Alexander Road. Anybody that may have seen
02:52it, anybody that may have seen the vehicle parked in a street outside their house, next door to their
02:57house or whatever it may be in the lead up to the shooting, if they could please share that information
03:03with Crime Stoppers or their nearest police station.
