00:00Among President Trump's other truth social posts over the weekend was the surprise announcement
00:05that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is resigning. The news was surprising because at the time of
00:11the president's post, Starmer hadn't publicly announced any such thing himself. Trump's post
00:16read in part, Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, which is pretty
00:21cut and dry. The president then criticized Starmer's record on immigration and energy policy
00:25before adding, quote, I wish him well. Now in the UK, reports indicate Starmer may be preparing to
00:31step down as early as Monday. Now Starmer led his center-left Labour Party back into power in 2024
00:36after more than a decade out of government. But his approval ratings have fallen sharply and his
00:41party has faced growing political headwinds. Now things across the pond operate quite a bit
00:46differently than here. This isn't like when Nixon resigned. These days there seems to be kind of a
00:51revolving door of PMs in the UK. There have already been four prime ministers since just 2022,
00:56including Starmer. If the reports and President Trump's claims are true, the fifth prime minister
01:01could be Andy Burnham, the former mayor of Manchester and also a member of the Labour Party who just won
01:07a special election to become a member of Parliament. President Trump is taking aim at Illinois Governor
01:12J.B. Pritzker after a violent weekend in Chicago left at least five people dead and more than 20 others
01:17wounded. The president unloaded on Truth Social Sunday morning, a busy weekend for Trump on the
01:22social media platform. He blasted the Democratic governor over what he called out-of-control violence
01:27in the Windy City. Quote, I could make Chicago safe city in one month. In one year, it would be
01:33one of
01:33the safest. D.C. went from one of the worst to one of the safest cities in the U.S.
01:37Trump's comments came
01:38after a rash of gun violence across Chicago, including a mass shooting during a Juneteenth celebration on the
01:43city's south side. Chicago police data shows murders are up 8 percent compared to this time
01:47last year. Homicides, though, remain 35 percent lower than they were four years ago. A convicted
01:53killer who had his life sentence commuted by then South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is accused in the
01:59death of his 14-year-old niece. 51-year-old Mark Milk was charged in connection with the death of
02:03McKenna Wendell after the teen was reported missing on March 13th. Her body was discovered six days later
02:09in a remote area near Brookings, South Dakota that's about 60 miles from her hometown of Sioux Falls.
02:14The details around her death haven't been released because authorities say the investigation is still
02:19open, but just going off the charges, the killing appears to be heinous. Prosecutors charged Milk with
02:24intent to distribute cocaine resulting in death, transporting a minor for criminal sexual activity,
02:29and conspiring to destroy evidence. A second man, John Rogueness, was also charged in Wendell's death.
02:35Now, back in 1994, Milk was sentenced to 240 years in prison for fatally stabbing a man during a fight.
02:43So why was he out on the streets with the ability to allegedly re-offend? Well, after serving nearly
02:48three decades behind bars, his sentence was commuted in 2023 by then Governor Kristi Noem,
02:53making him eligible for parole.
