00:00PAS has not ruled out contesting traditional DAP strongholds in the Negeri Sembilan state election on August 1st.
00:08Negeri Sembilan PAS Chief Firos Issa said the party is looking to contest more than 10 seats,
00:14similar to the 2023 state election while also defending the three seats it currently holds.
00:20However, he said the final number will depend on seat negotiations if PAS cooperates with other parties.
00:26Firos said PAS may target seats held by Pakatan Harapan and DAP,
00:32especially in areas where about 40% of voters are Malays.
00:36He said the party's candidate selection process is 90% finalised and will prioritise integrity,
00:43service record and candidates below the age of 60.
00:46Firos urged party members and election machinery to accept leadership decisions with an open mind.
00:52In the 2023 state election, Perikatan Nasional won five of the 36 seats it contested,
00:59with PAS taking three of them.
