00:00Patti Solidarity Tanah Aayiku is threatening to leave Gabungan Rakyat Sabah if the ruling
00:05state coalition goes ahead with its electoral pact with Pakatan Harapan for the upcoming
00:10state election.
00:11Star President Jeffrey Kitingan said he will meet the eight-party GRS Presidential Council
00:16tonight to discuss the matter, the Star reported.
00:20He said that if GRS Chairman Haji Jinoor pulls out of the alliance at the last minute, he
00:24will go along with it.
00:25He added that he can't go along with the alliance as it goes against the sentiment
00:30of the majority of the people.
00:32Kitingan's shift in tone comes two months after he dismissed speculation that Star would
00:37leave GRS following a viral TikTok clip suggesting the possibility if GRS were forced to work with
00:43Barca Nacional and PH.
00:45However, Haji Jinoor later announced that his coalition and PH will form an alliance for
00:49the state election.
00:51Kitingan, who is a deputy chief minister, said he had originally proposed that PH
00:55contest only its seven incumbent seats using the GRS logo.
01:00He said that while the GRS Supreme Council initially approved 15 of 73 state seats for PH,
01:06the coalition may now be allocated 21 to 23.
