An ongoing operation to demolish squatter houses at a colony behind the Alamesra area in Likas, Sabah has seen 38 structures torn down so far.

Kota Kinabalu City Hall said the operation began on Friday (June 19) and would continue until all illegal structures in the area had been removed.

00:41Its Demolition and Illegal Structure Division identified 150 illegal houses there, along with another 101 structures at the fire victim's
00:51settlement in Kampung Cenderamata II, Likas.
00:54Most occupants were reportedly non-citizens.
00:58Eviction notices were issued on April 13, giving residents 14 days to leave before enforcement began.
