00:18thanks to their Member of Parliament, Fong Kui Lun. A new covered pedestrian walkway
00:23now links the apartments to Razak City residences. After repeated requests to Kuala Lumpur City
00:29Hall were dismissed, Fong stepped in and used his parliamentary allocation to finance the walkway
00:36project. The 200-metre walkway, costing RM200,000, begins at the entrance of one Razak mansion
00:44and ends at Razak City residences. Chairman of one Razak mansions management corporation Anthony Tan
00:51said the walkway will benefit the community, especially the elderly residents living around
00:56the area. The main residents here are the elderly, so definitely they use this pedestrian walkway a lot,
01:06especially going to the Razak City where they buy their groceries, go for their food, so they can
01:13cover them from the suns and the hairy rain. 76-year-old Rokia Ismail said she is happy with the newly
01:21installed sheltered walkway, as she can now go outdoors regardless of rainfall.
01:38While residents are grateful, many say the walkway would have been even more useful if it had been
01:43extended to the Salak Selatan LRT station, about one kilometre away.
01:48Fong also said it will be good if the walkway can be connected to the LRT station.
