00:00Guys, NBA draft, closer than you think, a lot closer than you think.
00:04It's on Tuesday.
00:07And what's funny is I'm not entirely sure Washington know who they will select
00:13at first overall.
00:14The odds are holding strong on A.J. DeBansa.
00:18Darren Peterson is seen as the only other guy with a shot.
00:22The Boozer number is way, way, way back.
00:27Where are you at right now, Coach, on the first overall pick battle?
00:31Or maybe I should even ask you.
00:33Honestly, J.Y., pick the one you feel stronger about.
00:38What should Washington do, right?
00:41What do you think Washington will do?
00:43I'm interested in whichever one you're more invested in, if you will.
00:49You know, to me, when I look at the situation, what Washington should do
00:56is I think they should take A.J. DeBansa.
00:58I just think he checks more boxes.
01:00I think there's no questions about the injury concerns,
01:04his ability to score off the bounce.
01:06I think he would be tremendous in regards to that three-headed monster up front
01:12with A.D. and Sauron himself.
01:14I mean, it's 6'9", 7'7", that's an extremely scary front line.
01:19I also think DeBansa is a much better defender than people get a credit for.
01:23What Washington should do is literally make people feel like they're going to take DeBansa
01:30and then pull a pivot and then trade to pick to Utah because Utah really wants DeBansa.
01:36I mean, they really want DeBansa.
01:38And that's why I think the whole Derrick Peterson not working out for anybody else
01:44besides the Wizards is like almost like, I don't know if that's like a cat and mouse game,
01:49the fours, because maybe Peterson doesn't want to go to Utah,
01:53then that now creates the question of that Utah, they don't know who they're going to pick
01:58because if DeBansa goes one, maybe they go boozer.
02:02And then it comes to the whole thing of the whole Walker-Kessler thing.
02:05Walker-Kessler rejecting a contract that would have made him one of the top 10 paid centers in the NBA.
02:12Walker, how much money do you think you're worth?
02:14I mean, let's be honest, do you think you deserve like cat money?
02:19You think you deserve like joker money?
02:21I think that's it.
02:23I think that's it.
02:25And to me, when you look at that top of the draft and you look at Utah,
02:31like Utah is such a maddening situation because it's like, okay, let's go through this.
02:37Because if Utah decides that they could keep Kessler, keep Mark and keep Jaron Jackson Jr.,
02:43then you just take Derrick Peterson, put him with Keontae George, and it's your starting lineup.
02:48But every day out of Utah, you get something different.
02:51Walker-Kessler doesn't want to be there.
02:54You know, do they want to trade Mark it in, right?
02:56It's always something with Danny Ainge where he's trying to shift to another move.
03:01So Washington can really play this to an advantage.
03:04I would take the banter because I think that's kind of the ghostly delivery of your miles thing.
03:07You just take the more short thing when it's that close.
03:11But I could see them trying to pivot, take Peterson, but instead of taking him one,
03:18trade him and make Utah take the banter one.
03:23So to what you're getting at, my expectations is we sit here right now,
03:29and I'm not betting this yet, okay?
03:31I want to be very clear.
03:32I try and be patient with betting drafts.
03:37This is just how – this is my gut feeling.
03:43Washington are trying to get Utah to come up,
03:47and Utah are going to call their bluff,
03:51and Washington are going to select Darren Peterson.
03:55And then Utah will be able to sit it too and get AJ just like they hoped.
04:00That's how I feel right now.
04:02And again, I know people will be like, well, then why aren't you betting Darren at 3-1?
04:06Because I'd rather bet – just call it – I'd rather bet two units on Darren to go first at
04:17minus 110
04:19when I think it should be minus 300 than half a unit on Darren at 3-1 when I think
04:28it could be even money.
04:30That's how I feel.
04:32And it's just the confidence in the return.
04:37So, I'm leaving it alone.
04:41That's how I feel.
04:43Well, but interestingly enough, and I know that, you know, not massively disagree because these guys are all good,
04:50but I still think Cam Boozer has the case to go first overall.
04:57Sometimes history tells us not to overthink a guy.
05:02List of freshmen to win the Wooden Award.
05:05Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Zion Williamson, Cooper Flagg, Cam Boozer.
05:14That's Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer, injury ruined his career, future Hall of Famer, Cam Boozer.
05:22That's what that list is, guys.
05:24And not like sneaking into the Hall of Fame.
05:27Kevin Durant's one of the 20 greatest players ever.
05:29Anthony Davis was one of the top 75 best players ever.
05:32And Cooper Flagg looks like he's going to be a perennial MVP candidate.
05:36And honestly, I'm still not out on Zion.
05:39I'm not.
05:40Get this guy to the right situation and I'll believe.
05:43I'm telling you, get him out of New Orleans, please.
