00:11marked the arrival of summer on Newcastle's Town Moor. Daniel Fair is
00:16returning once again bringing together traveling showmen family attractions and
00:21some of the biggest rides currently touring the country. The Hoppings is
00:25always a fantastic event. People all over the country come here. The showmen come
00:30from all over the country and all over Europe. It's always a fantastic occasion
00:35and it doesn't matter if it gets wet because we've all got wellies and come
00:39along in wellies. I used to come here all the time with my parents. I think I've
00:43probably blanked out most of the scary rides to be honest. I remember things
00:46like the dodgins and the waltzer. It was always great. You know fantastic. Well as
00:52you can see final preparations are still underway across the site before
00:55tonight's opening. Organizers say visitors can expect a mixture of long
00:59standing favorites and newer attractions with a particular focus on rides
01:05designed to deliver bigger thrills. The headline newcomer this year is Elevate
01:0985 a star ride standing around 85 meters high. It's appearing at the Hoppings for
01:15the first time and was chosen as the centerpiece for the opening ceremony.
01:19Charities were also invited onto the site ahead of the public opening giving some
01:23visitors an early chance to experience attractions. This one's more my speed if I'm
01:28honest.
